GCA :: Wrists And Legs Are Covered In Bruises
Mar 25, 2016
Just an update following my GCA emergency trips to hospital a few weeks ago. Increased 2 weekly injections are working. However, I just have such, thin, vulnerable skin. My wrists and legs are covered in bruises. I just gently knock a wrist or a leg and huge blue bruises. Is this the drugs? My wrists look like I have been in handcuffs but all I have done is knock them getting stuff out of the washing machine, tumble dryer or dishes out of the cupboard.

I had the big cut hysterectomy in 2007 for uterine cancer. 3 weeks after my operation, my doctor started doing the 3 tiny holes surgery for hysterectomy for uterine cancer, but she never mentioned the option to me. Every since the hysterectomy, I have felt bad. I cannot lose weight. My back hurts, I cannot stand up straight without pain, My right hip hurts. I leak urine all the time. Low libido & I cannot experience satisfaction in the BR, I have low energy and depression. My legs never had any visible veins, but since my operation, my legs look like road maps of varicose veins. If I had to advise a woman, I would say do not agree to a hysterectomy.

I'm a 20 year old university student struggling to cope with the constant pain and irritation of my eczema.
I get it all over my arms, armpits, neck, chest, the back of my legs and my wrists. Its scabby, sore and irresistible to scratch at. I have on too many occasions scratched it until i bleed but i really cant help it. I have had severe eczema all my life but in the past two years, it has really started to get me down. I have applied prescribed steroid creams, Hydrocortisone, E45, Doublebase.. showered and bathed in prescribed shower and bath gels and swallowed countless anti-histamine tablets in the hope of them taking away the itch and the urge to scratch.
I'm writing this as i am so fed up, just like the millions of others suffering from eczema out there, and hope that one of you out there can help me, or atleast give me some tips to reduce the irritation.
Currently i am applying Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion after i shower. It does reduce the itch and calm my skin, but the redness and dryness returns when the cream is absorbed or whenever i start to sweat. I can't partake in exercise or sporting activities as i am scared, actual fear, of how itchy and sore my whole body becomes.
As i sit here repeatedly itching up and down my arms i'm hoping there is someone out there who can give me some advice, i've had enough of being embarrassed and fed up of my skin.

So today I took a mirror and really examined my lower region and I noticed my clit is covered fully by the hood. It's not embedded per say, but I have to use my fingers to expose it. I don't really get my feeling to if I rub it when I'm in the shower or something. Is there something I can do to ease the skin off or will I have to have it cut down?

I have been experiencing a red painless sore covered by white colored form on top of my penis for the last two weeks. I already consulted a dermatologist and have taken SPORANOX for first two days then have changed the medication to 'Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropoinate Cream', Tablets of 'Metronizazole 400mg 'and 'Ciprofloxacin 500'. Lab report also shows no symptom of Syphilis(VDRL is negative).

I suffer from chronic migraines for which I have been hospitalised on several occasions and I have always had a 'bad stomach' which has been diagnosed as functional dyspepsia, IBS and colitis at various times of my life. Last year I started having really bad pains in my hands, wrists, ankles and feet which feel swollen. If I exercise, my whole body aches and I simply cannot do the things that used to be easy for me. I'm even having difficulty doing the ironing and chopping the vegetables. Having always been a good sleeper, I now have periods of bad sleep and I always seem to be exhausted. Until last year I used to go the gym four times each week and I'v always been fit. Now I'm a wreck.
I've been seeing a neurologist for my migraines and a gastroenterologist for my stomach problems but nobody seems to see the big picture.
Do you think I could have fibromyalgia?

I was diagnosed 3 1/2 years ago. Many ups and downs. I've now been told - PMR in remission. Inflammation and blood count almost normal. However, I still have quite bad pains ( shoulders/arms/wrists/hips). Thought Dr said PMR was in remission!! Has anyone else suffered like this?

Male age 49, started with pain in my right hand 4 years ago. Gradually transferred to left hand and now is what I would describe generally as a combination of burning, aching tingling and numbness in both hands, wrists and forearms. No other issues, aside from that in good health and do lots of regular physical activity.
Lived with the pain which has gradually got worse and probably is something like a 5/10 on the pain scale now.
Recent stressful domestic issues seemed to aggravate the pains so finally decided to see a Spine Doctor (I am a Brit but live in the Philippines where medical care is excellent, especially when they see a foreign face with bulging pockets !)
The Dr did all the usual physical tests and none of them replicated the symptoms and her diagnised me with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both hands, to which I said "Sorry Sherlock, it ain't CTS).
Ok, he said, go do an MRI, which I just did and have the results (results pasted at the end of this post)
Went back to see the Dr and he said that I need surgery (Fusion of C5 and C6).
So, my quandry now is should I believe him or should I try a different approach.
The first paste below is the original MRI findings and the second paste is a second opinion that I got from an independent on line service.
IMPRESSION: -BILATERAL NEURAL FORAMINAL STENOSIS AT C5-C6 SECONDARY TO RIGHT FORAMINAL DISC EXTRUSION ON THE RIGHT, BILATERAL UNCOVERTEBRAL JOINT HYPERTROPHY WITH PROMINENT SPUR ON THE LEFT. -CORD EDEMA, C5 AND C6.
Second Opinion
OPINION:
There is a moderate sized, posterior disc protrusion/osteophyte complex at C5/C6 causing moderate spinal canal stenosis, moderate compression of the cervical cord and cord edema. The segment of cord edema extends from the level of the C4/C5 disc to C6/C7 disc and affects the left hemicord more than the right hemicord. Significant bilateral foraminal stenosis at C5/C6 with compression of both exiting C6 nerves (right more than left) seen.

I always get stiff legs/weak legs (it is hard to describe) when i walk past people.
I know they probably aren't even looking at me but if there's a chance they could be, I find it hard to put one foot in front of the other and walk normally.
Does anyone else get this?

At age 42, I'm starting to notice some loss of hair on my arms and legs. I'm a male, and of Mediterranean ancestry, so I've been quite hairy in those areas since I was a teen. My hair remains very full and thick on my head, so it seems odd I should be losing it in other places. Is this normal? I don't like the way it looks - like the skin of an old man, all bare and plain.

I'm 17 years old, 6 ft. 175lbs and frequent soccer player. Starting my sophomore year in Highschool I would get a cramp in both of my calves when I started jogging or running for long periods at a time. In pre season I pulled an area of my hamstring badly, not sure of the specifics but I believe it's the connector of your butt and hamstring. I had continued to play on it until I started physical therapy and addressed it( I would still get cramps when playing on it) I was diagnosed as having plantar fasciitis and began working on my calves and feet in physical therapy. Still nothing solved this, and I was fit while being only age 16 at the time. Still had calf cramps. I turned to custom orthotics which took months to break in until one game I noticed a huge change. I ran at a decent speed for a whole game, our team had no subs so I was forced to stay I although with little cramps, the day after I could barely walk. That was the last full game I played at center defense. Ever since that game I noticed that my butt sticks out more because it seems my pelvis is out of line. The cramps persisted after even though I had gone a game with no cramps. Conditioning still had no effect as after even 2 laps I would begin feeling strong tension. I ended up breaking my ankle junior season for soccer in Highschool and am now getting back into things, except that I can't run more than 5 minutes. My right hip is abducted( turns inward) and it was never like this before. I'm result my back is tighter, my knees rotate in, and basically my whole lower body is torqued and the muscles have unbelievable tightness. Wondering if this sounds like compartmentalism?

I have a 4 year old that is struggling with legs pain. It's intense enough that sometimes she won't walk & just cries. I've been giving her Motrin. It seems to be in the morning & evenings mostly & from the knee down. Always the left leg. Could growing pains be this intense? She's been sick a lot the past month & her grandpa (dads side) has rheumatoid arthritis.

I have been being treated for sciatica fo the last month with various pain killers etc, It started in my left buttock and down my left leg. It then left the left side and went into my right front thigh. The doctors etc said it was because I had been overcompensating in favour of my left side. What else I was supposed to do when all the advise is "keep moving etc," However I also have experienced soreness on the right side between my legs. I have been to do some shopping and come back done in so I am sitting on a hot water bottle typing this

So I have been having typical problems that can be expected with gallbladder pain that have slot nightly increased since Dec. I posted earlier in the week about it. I'm having an MRI done on the 10th to see what's going on after an, ultrasound revealed no stones. But now I am having problems with hives. It has happened 3 times in the last week. It is always a t night. It starts on one or both legs and thighs and works its way to my butt cheeks. I should mention, I've never had hives in my life. I'm not taking any new meds, not eating anything out of the ordinary nor using new soaps, etc. Ideas?
