I am brand new to this discussion forum and hope someone can offer info/support on being diagnosed with low Vitamin B12. My G.P. prescribed a course of hydroxocobalamin injections. Since starting these I have experienced an upset tummy, feel flushed and look it too. I feel generally not quite right, achy and weary. Has anyone else experienced this and is this normal?

I didn't do well on cymbalta (duloxetine). Initially, I started to feel better, but after a couple of months I started to feel depressed again. I also gained weight.
When I started to withdraw from cymbalta, my weight started to creep up even more. I've always been 7 st, and now I'm 8 st and 5 lbs.
My Psychiatrist wants to start me on venlafaxine, but I'm so worried that I'm going to end up gaining more weight. In the past, I've been on Citalopram and Fluoxetine. None of those worked for me, that's why my Psychiatrist tried the SNRI.
I feel like a complete failure, and am believing I'm unhelpable. Weight gain is a big issue for me, I don't like not being in control.

Been on venlafaxine since 3 months. I'm up to 225 mg which seemed to working a treat, however, I do get the odd day of anxiety here and there. Today is probably the worst. It started as racing heart a few days ago. Now I'm getting the tinglings, nervous tummy, feeling a bit down. I'm really scared that I've got treatment resistance depression/anxiety.
I took some MDMA whilst on holiday last June, which kicked this whole thing off.
It's just so soul destroying as I felt on top of the world earlier this week.

Anyone recommend a supplement to help me calm down and relax, as I'm withdrawing from Venlafaxine and I'm really having a difficult few days!

I've been on it for years and it's been brilliant. I was tired all the time and it gave me new energy.
The downside is that if you miss a couple of doses the withdrawal side-effects are quite horrendous. Venlafaxine XL (time released ones) are gentler with the side effects than the ordinary ones.
They've definitely worked for me.

I'm at my wits end and am sure I'm close to a breakdown. My husband is no help. Everything is or rating the living daylights out of me and I'm getting so upset and angry. I don't know what to do with myself. I've been diagnosed with anxiety and depression and was prescribed medication but it made be sleep. I couldn't function whilst taking them. I've weaned myself off them over the last month and have a Dr appointment scheduled in two weeks but I don't know if I can last that long. I'm considered ending it all but have a family that I don't want to scar. Everything is so hard, each day I don't want to get out of bed because I know there will be a drama that will knock me. My husband is ignorant to it all. He does try, he asks how I am, he tries to help around the house and he works really hard but when I tell him I've had a bad day or I have a moan about something, he thinks it's all about him. He asked me why I'm blaming him all the time. I'm so angry right now, I want to leave but I have nowhere to go and no passport and no spare money. I wish God would just take me. Another reason why I can't end my own life is best cause I won't go to heaven and after living in hell for so long I want to go to paradise one day.

Well I finally had my gyne consultation today and boy was I annoyed, dismayed, confused, upset.
Apparently, as I'm having regular periods I'm NOT menopausal nor am I peri menopausal!!!! I was gobsmacked to say the least. So WHY did my doctor put me on HRT for 3 years and why am I experiencing bodily and mood changes? HRT never helped my hot sweats much to be honest but I was on a low dose. My mood has gone downhill , I've gained so much weight and I've noticed changes with my periods even if they haven't actually stopped or even missed yet!! My hormone tests were normal and according to the consultant if I'm still having periods then I'm ovulating regularly etc etc!
So at the age of 51 I've yet to even start any peri symptoms. I'm just totally bewildered. IF I'm not peri then what is causing my symptoms?
Anyone advice above and beyond a Gyne Consultant who reckons she has done her job for years and knows better than us women on a forum!! Her words not mine It's MY body and I know what is going on regardless of how long she has worked as a Gyne Consultant.

I smoked my last cigarette on September 12th. I hate not smoking. I hate the 40 lb. weight gain, the digestive upset, the hives, the shortness of breath, waking up at night in tears and panic, crying over the smallest thing, the boredom, not having anything to do when I take a break. Nothing smells good, nothing tastes good. My skin and hair now have a rancid smell that won't wash off and makes me nauseous. My complexion is a pasty gray like unbaked pie dough. Friends say I smell bad and am embarrassing to be around.
If this is what non-smokers experience every day, I don't know how they stand it. Life used to be good; now it's a never-ending nightmare with new aches and symptoms of sickness showing up every day.
I'd like to find the person who convinced me to do this and hurt them.

I have been taking a total of 2000 mg of Metformin for the past 4 years. I will spare everyone the details of how a major mistake was made but long story short, for the past 14 days I have been taking a total of 4000 mg of Metformin per day instead of the 2000 mg. This mistake was only realized this morning. I take several medications for several health issues. I am looking for advice on how long will it for this dosage to work itself out of my system. I noticed I was dealing with an extremely upset stomach, loss of appetite, diarrhea, shortness of breath, increased anxiety, lack of concentration, low blood sugar, and fatigue. All of these have increased greatly over the past 14 days. Should I be watching carefully for anything specific? Have I put myself at a greater risk for more complications? Should I do an ER visit immediately?

I have been on Cymbalta/Duloxetine for over two years now after having reactions to Sertraline etc. This was at 60mg and to be truthful it didn't do a lot. About 8 weeks ago this was doubled to 120 mg and this has increased my movement, mood and power to stay awake. It has also reduced my tremor.
I noticed I seem to be the only person on this level.
I am being queried following abnormal PET scan that indicated possible Parkinson's but DaT scan negative so not that. Also have mild Ischaemic changes in frontal lobes of the brain. All still under investigation. Has anyone else been prescribed this for same or similar problems?

I hope you're all making progress and feeling better.
I'll cut a long story short - I was taken off fluoxetine because I went really downhill. My Psychiatrist has given me Duloxetine which is an SSNI. It works on serotonin and nor.....?? I can't remember the spelling.
I'm reluctant to take it right now because I went on the forum for Duloxetine and haven't found many posts at all!! I think there are about 4-5 posts!!
Have any of you had this medication before? Any advice about what I should do? I don't mind the side effects, I'm just worried that my head's going to get messed up further.
Apart from all that, I feel a bit better having posted on here this morning cos I've not been on the forum for a while.

I just turned 49 and have fibroids and thick lining of my uterus. I am told my uterus is the size of a 3 month pregnancy. My periods are always heavy and usually 2 x a month, however the last two months they were normal flow and only lasted 5 days, the last period was very late as well. So apparently my hormones are changing.
Thing is, I need a tummy tuck due to a severe and painful scar from my last c section. I was given the option of having both partial hysto and TT done at the same time but it seems like too much to go through at once.
I am not sure if I NEED a hysterectomy or not, but I do need a TT.
by the way I also seem to suffer from incontinence from time to time and not sure of my large uterus is responsible.

I've been on duloxetine for about 18 months now (I think, my memory's awful) and have always had disturbed dreams and nightmares while I've been on it. Originally I was taking zolpidem 10 mg and Quetiapine 100mg at night but I've taken myself off of those over the last few months. The nightmares have gotten worse though, they're incredibly realistic. Last night I dreamt that I was drinking and I woke up heaving and with an intense headache like I was hungover. Then I managed to go back to sleep and after dreaming that I was back at my parents house and arguing with them, I woke up in such a state and my anxiety was so high I couldn't even move, I was struggling to breathe and scared because I was struggling to differentiate between what was real and what was a dream. I never wake up feeling rested and am constantly tired and yawning throughout the day, I've also been suffering more with headaches. Has anyone else on duloxetine had issues with sleep and dreams and is there anything that helps?

just wondered if anyone else is experiencing the hell that is duloxetine withdrawal?
This is my 5th day of being off the duloxetine all together. Im now on Mirtazapine. I dont know if what Im experiencing is the duloxetine withdrawal or the side effects of Mirtazapine :?
I am so spaced out its unreal. I get brain shocks constantly that really take your breath away and literally stop you from doing anything. I go to get dressed and zap, there it is. I bend down to pick up my jeans, and zap. Turn round to look at something and zap. I ache from limb to limb like a 90 year old with arthritis!! Im exhausted physically and mentally and I am just unable to do anything. I haven't been out of the house for 8 days, and haven't got dressed for 6!
I'm so sick of this med roundabout. I've been ill for little over a year now and have sampled 8 delightful anti deps, 3 anti psych and 2 relaxants. I feel like a junkie. Every time I move onto a new tablet, I have to go through some sort of withdrawal. These meds are supposed to be non addictive, but I'm beginning to think otherwise. They said that Valium wasn't addictive when that came out, now look.
I'm just so sick and tired of this whole roller coaster. As if it's not bad enough being depressed and out of your mind with worry and fear in the first place, but to then take tablets that are supposed to help the situation, but actually just add to your problems!
