Food / Beverages :: Beer Vs. Soda
Jul 8, 2006
Yes, you know I like my beer. Now, is there really any difference between having a beer or two or a soda or two? I actually cannot drink soda due to the massive carbonation. It hurts my GERD. Beer doesn't give me any problems, and I like the taste better anyway. Don't get me wrong, I still drink a lot of water and milk, just enjoy a beer on occasion.

I'm 45 year old mother and I'm really worried for my son. You see, he is only 20 years old but already suffers from hemorrhoids.
It is all from his all day sitting in front of his computer.
I don’t know what to do about all this.
We have even took him to see some doctors and one of them told us that this could be even worse if he continues like this.
Not only that he should change some of his nasty habits but he should change his complete eating habits.
That’s why I'm interested to hear more about this “right eating” to prevent hemorrhoids!

I'm a 23 years old male living in Iran. Recently, I've been experiencing a very strange problem with fruits that has led to me stop eating them. The problem is after eating almost any kind of fruits, specially melon, I immediately feel sleepy. A few days ago I couldn't resist a fairly big piece of melon and after eating it I fell asleep for more than 8 hours (from 8 pm to 5 am). last night I decided to see if it happens again and after eating two tiny pieces, almost immediately it all came to me but this time it went away by eating some chocolates. It seems that, if I can survive not falling sleep, taking some sweets will make the sleepiness go away.Banana, Cucumber, Water melon, Pomegranate and a few others have also caused the same symptoms but nothing like the bloody melons. This also happens ,although rarely, after daily meals.

Most people must use dried herbs instead of fresh herbs sometimes, right? There have been no fresh herbs in my supermarket for quite a while now and I ended up being dried ones instead. I hate the way they make the food taste. It's still better than NO herbs of course, but the food has not been to my liking at all. What experience do you have with this?

My wife complains about my beer belly. She says I look like a wreck and refuses any intimacy with me. I want to get rid of it, but I like beer more than myself. So, I reckoned that if I start running my beer belly will gradually disappear. But I’m not ready to leave beer. What if I don’t stop drinking beer and start running?

I know caffeine is a big thing while pregnant, but lately I've been drinking soda everyday. And coffee I've been craving it, I don't want to drink coffee and soda in the same day. Could I be drinking to much caffeine? I don't want it later on being my fault for drinking to much. I cant help it sometimes. The past 2 days I haven't drink any soda nor coffee, but right now I'm craving some coffee.

well they have found that the products they use to make a soda diet can be harmful. But it all depends on details. If you haven't drank soda that much, and just started drinking a lot, then that can harm your kidneys. but it's usually best to stay away from soda period.

My husband and I just started back earlier this week trying to lose weight. I am currently at my heaviest that I have ever been 225lbs. I have omitted soda and alcohol from my diet. I have also been drinking so much water that I feel like I am going to float away! My stomach is larger now than when I began. Is there anything that I can do to get rid of the bloating? Or just do I need to keep on the same path?

I have suffered for 33 years with this disease. I am 76 yrs old. LS is an autoimmune disease and a health person told me for a true autoimmune
problem is that you had to have 3. I have arthritis, Ls and thyroid. Jus over a year ago I had to have the thyroid removed (cancer) . That is okay now. But listen to this, The unbearable constant burning itch has all but disappeared. There is still some very mild discomfort around the anus. The fusing was so complete that I lost the clitorus first and than the labia minora and the labia majora was starting to disappear. But with the regular use of coconut oil and spraying after bathroom use with water and baking soda I now have rather normal looking labia and normal colour. i was white, gray, purple and bumps. Only the clitorus has not been uncovered but sensation is still there. I am just very slightly white at the entrance to the vagina both front and back. I wish i had Known about these treatments years ago.

I have a “beer belly”. My wife is teasing me and so do my friends. Sedentary lifestyle and too many beers did their part. I want to lose fat, especially my beer belly. What do you think about shaping stomach by swimming? Can I lose my belly by swimming? I don’t want to get smaller anywhere except in the stomach region.

It's been about a year now that we've moved to Germany. At first I would try one beer a night 2-4 times a week. Slowly it's gotten worse to the point that every night I now drink at least 4 half liters (17oz each) every single night and I can't remember the last time I didn't drink. It seems like everyday I wake up and promise myself I won't drink today but I just can't not drink.... The beer is just so damn good I can't get enough of it; and it's super cheap too.
It hasn't caused any problems with my family or daily routine aside from me being tired all the time.
