I am just diagnosed with endometriosis. I have mid cycle bleeding and heavy menses with clots during the day 2 & 3. Are these the normal symptom of endometriosis? I had HPV last year and Pap smear in April 15. All results normal. Will I be having something else?
View 1 RepliesI'm 23 and experienced 3 weeks of heavy bleeding so my gp prescribed me norethisterone. I had blood tests and swabs which were fine except my thyroid TSH was high. I took 1 tablet three times daily for 10 days and the heavy bleeding did not stop until nearly the end of the course. I have been on the depo injection for years and tuesday gone have now changed to the mini pill cerazette which is basically the same. I started to bleed like the nurse told me i would after stopping the tablets from wednesday but today experienced a large amount of dark clots and heavy bleeding. Is this normal? Nurse said if i had clots to go back to see her and gave me another prescription for norethisterone but i don't want to start taking them again as i had bad headaches and i have gained 10lbs in weight. Help anyone? I was off work for 2 weeks and can't be off again as it made me weak and tired

26 yr old female having problems with my menses from past 5 yrs. I get my periods on time about every month on the same date or around the last menstrual date . But the bleeding has declined a lot. My periods only stay for 2 days and stop after the 2nd day. I have minor spotting for 4-5 days after my periods and it's brown in color. About 3 years ago i got an ultrasound done of my ovaries because i was concerned about the changes in my periods and on the report it was mentioned that i have small follicles in my left ovary and the size of my ovary has increased. Ever since that I didn't get any check up done or didn't consultant with the ob-gyn I had to trouble back to US because I was in India for my education purposes. Then I got busy with work didn't pay much attention. From last year I have had a lot of acne on my face,neck,chest,and back..severe dandruff that won't go away with medicated shampoos..hair loss and hair gotten thinner, gaining weight..gained about 7 kgs in a few months . Although I have been working out once or twice a week or sometimes 3-4 times a week and good control on my diet yet no signs of weight loss. I started having facial hair especially on the sides on my face, mustache , and bit hair around nipples. I currently don't have any insurance and I am unemployed. But I am trying to work on the insurance..hopefully i get it soon. Please review my symptoms...somewhere I think It's PCOS. I have been feeling really stressed from few years and having a lot of mood swings too..feeling irritated and depressed most of the times.
View 1 RepliesI had my last period on 11/4, ovulated somewhere around 11/18 and then on 11/25-11/26, 6 days before my period was due, I had what I believe was implantation bleeding (light pink only when I wiped for a day and half and then brown for a half day). Then on 11/30, 2 days before my period was due (I'm always regular). I started bleeding red, lighter than normal, mostly when I when I wipe, but enough to want a pad on just in case. There are small fibrous looking pieces occasionally when I wipe as well. Is this implantation bleeding followed by decidual bleeding? Or a strange menstrual cycle?

Ever since I have had it fitted, my cycle is only 25 days and my periods are very very heavy and last 12 -13 days!
I feel like I am always bleeding and it's starting to get me down. My normal cycle ( before baby was born) was never like this.
I went to my GP in feb and they advised as baby was 4 months old I'd had a dip in my hormones ( apparently everyone does) that's why I was feeling so sh1tty and to give it a few more months. I went bk in April and again in May abd I've now been given tablets to stop the heavy bleeding. I've tried 2 different tablets now and they don't seem to help. The first day or so is not too bad ( I still have to wear 'super plus' but change every few hours) . The next 8 days are horrendous!! I am usually house bound and even walking kids 15 doors up from my house to their school turns in to a rush bk to chabge my clothes as I've leaked everywhere!! I am using super plus and a night pad and I would say I need to change ever 30-40 mins!!
Sex is out of the question as I am heavy bleeding constantly! I feel tired. ( where I'm looking blood constantly ) and now my doc have put me on iron tablets.
I have just had blood tests done as my doc wants to check hormone levels etc.
Really thinking of having it taken out as I am feeling like I'm constantly bleeding and feeling sooo tired. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this with the coil?
When I had my section I did have a heavy bleed and lost alot of blood. Don't know if I have a slight tear or something which causes my bleeding ?
So for the last year or so i've been on the depo provera birth control. I have not gotten my last injection due on the 16th of march. And was very lightly bleeding for about a week during that time for the next shot then it stopped for a few days and then started bleeding heavy for the next five days. Finally stopped on april 3. Keep in mind My periods have never been normal. I had unprotected sex on the 8th and 12th and now am lightly spotting. Can i be pregnant?

View 4 RepliesI saw my GYN today, and he thinks I may have endo.
Basically, at the same time of the month, every month (the week before my period), I experience severe nausea, and sometimes vomiting and stomach cramps. I've actually thought it was food poisoning, except that it literally occurs a week before my period starts. The first episode I remember was last April (the nausea was so bad, that my husband had to come pick me up from work), and again with really bad episodes in November and January (in January, the stomach cramps were so painful, I ended up in urgent care). With the last episode, the nausea persisted through the duration of my period.
But that being said, I don't feel like I have typical period endo symptoms. Cramps hurt, but are manageable. I tend to spot a few days before I start full flow, and I have heavy flow for 3-4 days, but then my period's gone after 7-8 days. Sex isn't painful. I feel random lower abdominal discomforts here and there (some twinges, or crampy feeling mid-cycle), but nothing that I feel is remarkable.
My GYN did an ultrasound today, and everything looked normal (no cysts or anything). He said, though, that given the timing and cyclical nature of my symptoms, endo is a possibility. My question is, has anyone else experienced purely GI symptoms? If so, what did you do to alleviate them? Did you have any other type of diagnostic test (lap, colonoscopy, endoscopy)?
After years of pain, heavy periods, aches and really bad PMT I was finally diagnosed with endo about five years ago after scans and internal examinations. I was operated on and was ok for a couple of years. Then the symptoms returned and only after breaking down in the GPs room did they do the same again.
Just less than two years ago I started a new job but have had time off sick as my symptoms haven't improved. I'm tired, run down, back ache, stomach ache, pick up every could/bug going etc etc. Now I don't know what to do. My boss has called me in for a meeting about my sickness next week.
The Dr hasn't prescribed me anything but I feel all these symptoms are linked to endo and to the cyst I also had removed during my first op. I struggle almost daily. I'm sick of going to the doctor and begging, telling them I feel like rubbish.
Background:
i have always had heavy painful periods. Initially they would come every 2 weeks and last 8-10 days. I was put on the pill and stayed on it for about 10 years (2011) when we decided to start our family. It largely controlled my symptoms with the exception of a handful of times when the pain was uncontrollable.
in 2010, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC) after 12 months of on again off again diarrhea. Nothing could be seen during the colonoscopy but is showed up on the biopsies. Between 2010 and Jan 2012 when i fell pregnant i still had "flares" every 3-4 months. 1 flare while pregnant. C sect in sept 2012. My UC seemed slightly worse after the c section. Periods were irregular again and was recommenced on the pill which mostly controlled it however had some spotting and pain mid cycle. August 2013 i became pregnant again, apart from one big flare while pregnant my UC was great. i had another c section in May 2014.
Since then i have had nothing but trouble. Diarrhea every day since August last year, a good day is 6x a bad day is 20+x and disabling pain, bloating, fatigue.
i have had basically non stop bleeding, i will have red blood but only light every 2-3 months and in between i will have old blood for 2 days, stop for 1 day, go for 3 days, stop 2 days etc.
in july i was put on a special liquid diet to try get some vitamins, i was losing 1kg a day while on this diet. My bleeding and diarrhea stopped (it was partly digested so there wasn't really anything to leave my body, it was all absorbed).
as soon as i was put on normal food again my diarrhea and pain returned and my period was so heavy, worse than after both my kids put together.
I had a hysterectomy done in February of 2013, I had a partial, just my uterus and cervix removed so all that is left are my ovaries. Within the past month all of the same symptoms are back that I had before surgery. Severe pelvic pain, bloating, back pain, not sleeping, hurts to urinate and so on. I'm 27 years old and no kids and I felt it was my only option because I had so many laps done and there was nothing more to do other than the hysterectomy. So if there are some women out there that has had a full hysterectomy could you please tell me if its worth asking doctor to remove ovaries. Could really use some advice now or just to know there's more women out there around my age going through the same thing. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Mine seem to somewhat improve towards and during menstruation.
I started bleeding 3 days after my period it started light but continued to get very heavy using 3-4 pads a day then a few days ago it started to slow down and showed signs of stopping when the red turned to brown but restarted again, My period is due in 9 days and this definitely doesn't feel like a period too me.
I'm not on the pill as i was having issues and came off it last year since i stopped using the combined pill my period has sorted itself out a lot.
I don't think i am pregnant as even if i was bleeding for this long would mean a issue?
I'm on this pill and lately I've found I'm bleeding everyday. Not much but there is still bleeding. When I was put on this pill I was told there could be spotting but it's almost everyday. Also I've found that when I do stop bleeding and have sex the bleeding starts again. Is this normal on this pill? Or should I be really concerned about this?

View 1 RepliesMe and my boyfriend lost our virginity on 11th Feb, and I bleed quite heavily throughout and yes it was painful as well. And it was unprotected sex. It's been 24 hours and I'm still bleeding (not that much, but its more than just spotting) . my vagina feels like as if its ripped badly and it doesn't feel like my old one anymore.
On the other hand, my menstruation cycle is 28th of every month and I skipped on my periods last time I.e. I didn't had my period on 28th January (I rarely miss on it) .
My questions are:
1. Is that bleeding because of hymen rupture or menstruation? (It's somewhat thick and sticky)
2. Should I take contraceptive pill and is it safe?
3. When i missed on my period I was still a virgin so I didn't take it seriously.. Now I'm not.. So what would now my periodic cycle be?
So my period is fairly regular at a 30-32 day cycle (generally stays at 30 or 31) and I am never early, it starts out with a light spotting when I first go the to
bathroom, and then within the hour the bleeding will become very heavy with a lot of clotting, cramping and extreme lower back pain, to the point where it even hurts to breathe and move. My periods last 4-5 days, and on the 5th day slows down to a light brown spotting and end by the time I go to bed. And my periods are usually so heavy I will go through over half a pack of pads in those 4 days and one with the spotting on the last day.
I do not keep track of my BBT but I have a calendar to mark down when I ovulate and my period beginning and end dates along with the days I had sex and other details concerning those nights. I did start charting my BBT this morning, just in case I’m not pregnant so I can use the information later, and it read at 96.8, would this be normal if I am pregnant? ...........
I'm sexually active with my boyfriend who we lost our virginities to. I haven't had another sexual partner and I'm on the depo shot and checked for STDs before each shot. But when I masturbate lately I've noticed I bleed I only rub myself above my clothes. Tonight when I got up I bled very heavily with abdominal pain which has never happened. And I don't start my period until the end of the month. This happens nearly everytime I masturbate just not as heavy bleeding.
View 1 RepliesI was about 10 days late on my period and finally decided to take a test. In which was positive. I took 3 more just to make sure and they were positive as well. A couple of days later, I started to spot but it was brownish. It stopped after a short bit. And then started again and it became heavy. Kind of like a the first days of a period. Some clotting here and there. I am on my 4th day of bleeding and it's still heavy. I took another test thinking I must of had a chemical pregnancy but it was still a strong positive. I feel like my symptoms I had before are gone now and I'm just confused with what to do. Any advice?
