I saw someone using Citric Acid of Lime Juice to clear Sinus fluid. Can it cause any harm to the Sinus tissues or bones or any other internal parts ? Will it work for people with Chronic Sinusitis with any long term side effects ?
View 2 RepliesSide of face is tender and swollen. So I thought sinusitis maybe? But there is a firm large lump under my nose on my lip, that goes up into my nostril and around the side of nose. I do have a GP appointment later. Just wondered if lumps were a symptom? Or maybe it's a cyst or something??

I woke up this morning and I have been coughing/gagging all morning and can taste blood in the back of my throat, I have not coughed up any blood though.
I have been trying to quit smoking since 2011 and have been a smoker since 1991.
I am also on SR Hydromorphone (Jurnista) for severe chronic back pain.
I am also on 800 Mg Carbamazepine (as a Mood stabilizer NOT for Epilepsy)
As well as Mirtazapine (for chronic Clinical Depression)
And Atenolol for mild Hypertension.
Anyhoo, as of this morning I have been hacking up a storm, as of 2 hours from waking up I developed a sore throat (I believe from the hard coughing) I have not coughed anything up but the coughing gets so hard it becomes dry-reaching frequently.
And that taste of blood waay down in the back of my throat is ever present after each cough.
As I have depression and mood disorder, I don't want to go straight to the doc as quite often individuals with mental health issues don't get taken seriously here in Australia, quite often I would get told "Go to your psychiatrist" as if I am crazy. and in the past I ended up in trouble with serious health issues that went undiagnosed simply because some peanut G.P. thought it was all in my head, until I ended up in hospital sometimes in quite serious condition.
So I was wondering if someone who understands this coughing issue could be could shoot me an answer first.
I am meant to go to University tomorrow (I am studying for a Psychology Degree) and I want to be at my peak for study if at all possible.
I've had weird symptoms . When I breath I have a cold nose and pit of throat, sometimes it burns. I find that I find it weird to breath. When I breath in my throat is cold and fluttery and my nose is cold. I also have tinnitus and a headache. Could this be a allergy or deficiency? I am a 46 year old woman.

I ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS feel Mucus in the back of my throat, I can't clear it away by just coughing it up, or spitting it out, I have to suck it in me. I really try to spit it out, but I can only spit it if I let it build up for awhile, other than that I have to suck it up, and while doing that I make a really annoying noise....something like blowing your nose really really hard, but even worse noise. I talked to my parents but they never believe me, they tell me: Its Psychological, and I've adapted a bad habit.But I SWEAR I can feel it always. We've been to a Allergist, and he said its maybe Sinus, or Post-nasal drip. He said the Mucus builds up in my nose, and drips down to the back of my throat...Although I can't feel the drainage from Nose to throat, but my nose is pretty blocked up. The Allergist said this started because of a past allergy, and I agreed. 2 years ago I had severe Allergy, and once the allergy left, this problem continued on till today.The Allergist recommended Nose drips, and Allergy medicines, but they never helped not even a bit. Next we went to a Nose and Throat Specialist, and she checked my nose and throat and said: Its Psychological, and I've adapted a dirty habit. But I SWEAR on my life, I feel it 24/7 in the back of my throat, but no one believes me not even the DOCTORS! What shall I do PLEASE help. This Mucus is always there, and by clearing my throat (Spitting, Sucking whatever), its makes a noise, that every hates, even MYSELF!!! PS. I tried drinking salt water and everything.

I love Codeine I'm not gonna lie, you talk better, you argue better, you can have amazing sex on it, it calms you down and it can wake you up. I don't want to quit.
Two weeks ago I bought a full bottle of Percocet from this guy and have taken about 5 every single day. I know to some of you that doesn't seem like much but I do my best to manage my addiction in a responsible way. I just got married last week. I love my wife we have been together for a long time and she's never even suspected that I take opiates. I can hide things pretty well.
I want to stop because I know I'm better than this. I want freedom I don't want to feel like opiates have my leg in their trap. I'm going through my first withdrawal. It sucks sore throat, runny nose, shaky hands and legs, insomnia, all I can think about is hydrocodone syrup or just tablets.
Today is day 3 of my withdrawal never felt anything like this. My throat is so sore I went to the doctor to see if I could get a steroid shot or something to boost my immune system. I got there and told him how I'm feeling and he gave me an antibiotic and hydrocodone syrup...I know right. I didn't tell him about my addiction or withdrawals. I guess I want to be the only one to know about it with the exception of the people on this site. Rock meet bottom.
I've taken an ounce of the syrup already and I feel great. I know I'll run out soon because I only had a four ounce fill. I need someone who understands this feeling. I'm better than this I just want to get past this point and try to forget about this part of my life. Please respond I need support at this point and don't have time for NA meetings. Thanks guys

I am seriously looking at beginning Jason Vale's "7lb in 7 days" Juicing plan, so much so I have already downloaded the book on my Kindle (as this is more than half price of buying the book) and am 40% through it. I am not totally "sold" on the idea, not because I don't think this is a good idea but mainly because I am not sure I can have the determination to stick to it!
I love my food. I have no other pleasure in life (don't drink/smoke/buy bags or shoes/have nails done or spoil myself with Spa Days or clothes shopping and as I have children, I find I don't go out much either!). Throughout my entire life, food has been a treat, a pleasure, a celebration, a commiseration - any event has always been celebrated or commemorated round the dinner table or with some kind of "treat")
Thought it may help/motivate me if I kept a mini "blog" on here (??) as to how, why and what happens as this may (or may not - probably the latter!) help anyone else who is thinking of doing it and doesn't know what to expect.
90% of the girls at work have done it and one member of my family is currently doing it (she is now on Phase 2 and 3 of the plan) and they all swear by it!
This is by no means my "quick fix" and I am fully aware and totally understand that this is a "health change" which is the reasons I am doing it but to lose a few pounds in the process can only be a bonus. Don't get me wrong, I NEED to lose about 4-5 STONE but my main draw to this Plan is the health benefits. Yes, I am over weight, Yes I have high blood pressure, Yes I have high cholesterol, No my blood sugars are not too high (thank God) and Yes I do have heart disease, stroke and diabetes in my family plus Cancer on all sides.
I am now 45 years old and need to kick my butt in order to stay alive long enough to see my kids married and to be around long enough to enjoy my life - because I sure ain't at the moment!
I feel lethargic, have a huge "can't be bothered" attitude, have absolutely no energy or interest in anything, do Zero activities and would much rather sit on the sofa watching a chick flick than walking briskly round the park with my dog/kids! I admit, I am LAZY.
Now, the thought of starting this process is VERY appealing and I am all for it with renewed determination every time I have just finished a Spaghetti Bolognese with Garlic Bread!
But, can I do it - YES I CAN!

I get a nose polyp more on one side of nose than the other, also the ear on that side also has a lot more problems with blockages and pain and whatever. Researching online I saw some posts saying that it is unusual for it to be more one side than the other and can be cancer! Now am worried sick. Please tell me your thoughts but please don't say stuff like go to the doctor.
View 5 RepliesAbout 3 months ago I had a sinus infection and never recovered after I had terrible like pressure building up in the left side of my head which would happen more at night or basically when I would lie down i also when my ears touch the pillow I hear my pulse and on the right ear only when I press against the pillow a clicking noise I would later develop sensitivity to bright lights sounds and smells.
I made 3 trips to a and e with the pressure building in my head on the last occasion it affected the left side of my body they just sent me away
I payed private for a neurologist did MRI on brain came back fine he diagnosed me with severe migraines and put me on propanol these have calmed the symptoms but I am worried as I am still left with a dull pulsating on the left side and have a bit of blurred vision suffer a lot with fatigue and when I try to exercise it kind makes my head
worse and I have noticed pain in my neck and shoulder on the left side had my eyes tested but said they were fine .
The thing is I am left with is like a dull pulsating on the left side with still sensitivity to light no energy I am not sure if this is chronic migraines just wondered of anyone had any ideas to what it could be I have been better since taking the medication but it worrying that it's kind of still there I also have irritable bladder and ibs and have been referred to a chronic fatigue clinic but I don't think that is the cause of my fatigue
2 days in a row, i've woken up in the morning with my whole right side of my face is achey. It aches when i open my jaw, around my right eye, and had a sore nippy hot feeling in my throat all day, a couple days before , b waking up with a sore face, i've been getting lightheaded spells as well, could this be something to do with it as well?
View 1 RepliesI really need somebody to put my mind at ease at this point. I am a 20 years old guy in Montreal and a couple of weeks ago I went through a really bad cold/flu. I couldn't go to work one day because of how bad I felt. The symptoms I had were mild fevers, extreme fatigue, congested nose of white mucus and the other usual symptoms of a cold. I noticed that cold was more aggressive than the usual colds I've had before. I also noticed my nose was extremely congested, I kept blowing my nose frequently and had lots of white mucus coming out of it. Once the cold began to go away I began experiencing a lot of pressure in my head (sinuses areas and kind of in the back of my head), confusion kind of feelings with dizziness, brain fog and still a congested nose but dry (white mucus always). Together with all of this I have been experiencing anxiety spells because of the frustration of not knowing exactly what to do about it.
It has been a little over a week since all of this started and I believe this could be a sinus infection. I just got a decongestant with saline solution and got some tree tea oil to inhale with boiling water once a day. I have been feeling better very slowly throughout the week but I am TERRIFIED this could be something not related with a sinus infection. I have been googling my symptoms like crazy and found stories from people experiencing this stuff for years and that scares the sh* out of me. The brain fog has been very frustrating because it has been affecting my concentration and short term memory. That kind of comes and goes but it is very frustrating since I don't have any memories of experiencing this before.
As far as I know, I haven't had any allergies my whole life and I don't think that is the root of the problem because as I said earlier, I had a really bad cold before this. I know colds can cause sinus infections afterwards.
I don't have access to doctors for now because I am an international student about to graduate next month. I don't have a health card or insurance to cover me with medication or doctors. I am hoping the decongestant and the tea tree oil might cure me so I am waiting a week to see how I feel but the anxiety about this has been killing me because I don't really know what's going on.
I have for a couple of months now suffered with severe sinus pain above and around left eye and LH side of my nose, paracetomol do not seem to bring any relief.
My nose is not blocked I can breath Ok it is obviously further up in my sinus.
As I am on blood pressure tablets my chemist tells me they cannot give me Sudafed or similar and has no other suggestions.
Can anyone here give me some advice on relieving this constant pain.
I have been diagnosed 5 months ago with Labrynthitis.. Not sure if it's actually what's going on because it was a pretty quick check up at ER. Extremely lightheaded, unbalanced and foggy headed is the major symptoms. Have noticed it gets a lot worse when I'm out in the cold for a period of time. Been going on for about 5 months now.. Back in September I had a really bad sinus cold. After those symptoms passed, a few days later I got an extreme wave of lightheadedness dizziness and was surprised I was still standing when I realized what was going on. Somehow I finished my shift at 11am then went to ER. Could barely even walk in there.. The only time it went away was when they gave me amox-clav pills and about 7 days in I felt 100 percent and the last few days of medication zero lightheadedness. After done with those everything came back a couple days later and never left. Was the amox clav pills just coincidence or maybe that tells me something? They said I had Labyrinthitis and sinusitis but it seems that the symptoms of vestibular neuritis relate a lot more.

View 1 RepliesOn April 28th, I finally went to see an ENT. He suspected that I may have chronic sinusitis. Ordered a CT scan to be sure. The following day I felt so weak and sick, I had to go to the hospital. They performed a blood test, urine test and CT scan of my sinuses. The doctor said he saw fluid in my ear, infected dental caries and I have sinusitis. I was prescribed five different medications (augmentin, flonase, prednisone, loratadine and zofran). I finished the antibiotics on Sunday, yet I still feel really bad. The facial pain and weakness is not going away. I'm at a loss at what to do. I can't see a dentist in such a weakened state. I don't think I could tolerate anything being done to my teeth until I get my strength back.
Infected sinuses, teeth and ears! What a nightmare! Does anyone out there have problems like this? Don't know what to do. So tired of feeling so very sick.
The left side of my face has been swollen EVERY single day for almost 2 years now. I went to an ENT specialist who diagnosed me with allergic rhinitis and a bit deviated septum. I did a skin prick test but results were negative. I also did a CT scan. It showed i have a turbinate hypertrophy (left) and slightly deviated septum (no mention about sinusitis). I have difficulty to breath from the left side on my nose especially during night, during day is quite ok. I have no other symptoms (besides the swelling). Could it be chronic sinusitis?
View 1 RepliesDoes anyone else experience lymph node pains with their sinus problems? The weird and scary pain I have just experienced is pain under my sternum and under my armpit lymph nodes. Thick and I mean thick clear mucus in my left nostril only. Had an MRI on my neck. And head. Only problem it said was my left cheek was filled with mucus. I had a tooth extracted after a botched root canal treatment. In December 2015 My cheek swelled up real bad and I had to Go to the E.R. To have my gum lanced to rid me of the poison. That was 3 and a 1/2 months ago. My symptoms (mucus) have been getting worse. I called my doctor(gp) and he gave me 500 mg. amoxicillin. Relieved me of my symptoms and chest pain for one day. This a.m. The pain is back. But it comes and goes! I need some help with this please. The headaches and neck pains suck. I'm not living right now I'm just existing.
View 1 RepliesI know this sounds weird but my chronic sinusitis has me completely bedridden and has been for almost 2 years now and I haven't been able to work etc. anyway, my last CT scan showed massive inflammation and infection on the left side of my head primarily in the maxillary sinus.
It seems since I've been using the Neti bottle every day that I've gotten so much worse and consequentially my fatigue and weakness has been absolutely debilitating. My question is, has anybody ever heard of the Neti bottle or Neti pot making their sinus infection worse?? Thanks for reading.
I had the surgery at 3.30pm yesterday and felt amazingly clear until about 4am when the common runny nose and tickling sensation started to build and at 4.20am I sneezed. I kept my mouth open as advised but my tongue clamped to the back of my teeth so not sure it helped. So much mucus and blood came out and it set off a few seconds of a nose bleed, it's now 8.45 am and I'm concentrating 100% on not sneezing again but it's so hard. My nose is filling up with clear, runny allergic mucus and I don't know what to do.
Anyone else had this?
PS I've wikied how to prevent sneezing and used all go their tips on pinching and pressing, etc!
I have been suffering with this for two weeks and I have no idea which symptoms may be connected to my newly acquired TMJ or my flare up of GERD.
Two weeks ago after a heavy meal and a few days after damaging my jaw I woke up in the night with a weird throat spasm and feeling like I had something stuck in my throat. Then over the weeks I started to get the lump feeling through the day with difficulty swallowing. I lost half a stone due to being unable to eat.
Now I have developed a tight chest, dry throat and lungs, feeling like my lungs are blocked, constant throat clearing with little mucous production, breathing difficulty and I'm still having these nightly throat spasms and lump feeling. I had some of my sons ventolin inhaler as I had asthma as a child and thought the reflux could be causing this but it did nothing.
I have been to A and E lots of times with it and also to my GP who has referred me for an endoscopy but its only in february.
I am going out of my mind. The breathing issue happened after a load of acid came up my throat a few nights ago and it felt like my throat and lungs were dried out by it.
