I have one swollen tonsil. It doesn't really hurt but it's been like this for a few weeks and I've been smoking since January. Just wanted to know if this was anything to be worried about.

Is this a normal reaction because my wisdom tooth is coming out?
I've been a little worried because my sister is 13 weeks pregnant and she was a cigarette smoker before she found out she was pregnant she is trying to stop completely but it's not that easy for her she has smoked about 6 cigarettes since she found out I am having her stay with me to make sure she doesn't smoke at all at least till the baby is born is she still on time to stop and how much do you guys think she has hurt the baby at 13 weeks

I don't know i never felt this before till i stop smoking.
I've quit smoking for 3 weeks now after 32 years of smoking. I am using the patch and my doctor put me on zyban when I saw her sept 5 because I couldn't stop crying. The crying has gotten better I feel terrible. I think I'm obsessed with my breathing to the point where I feel it all the time. My chest feels tight. I feel myself inhaling all the time. I've been to the emergency room twice now in two weeks. Chest films taken. They put me on high dose prednisone for. 5 days which made it worse! I think I'm going insane about this. I read that you should be coughing up old mucus etc... I'm not coughing at all. I think I need psychiatrist. Has this happened to anyone?

View 1 RepliesI'm 6 weeks 1 day into my recovery a&p repair & a hoist up of the womb.. can't remember the medical word for that. All guidance says sex is ok from 6 weeks, what a joke. I am still so swollen and sore that is the last thing on my mind! This may be tmi but my vjj is unrecognisable in a bad way, it is so lumpy and bumpy and oh so sore. They do not seem to have taken much time or consideration into the aesthetics when stitching me back up. It just looks like a mess down there I am hoping things improve.....
9 months ago I saw a small flesh coloured raised oval shaped lump on my right tonsil, went doctors and was told nothing to worry about. Had a few sore throats since then (which I'm prone to), the dentist's last week was told bad decay in right lower molar, asked dentist to check lump as it was still there, again told nothing to worry about. Got home and felt throat a little sore, had a look and noticed the area next to the lump was also swollen a bit, freaked out, back to doctors who now referred to ENT, claiming he couldn't see lump 9 months ago while asking if I'd lost appetite/weight. Anyway then both my kids also came down with sore throat/virus thing, so I thought maybe the second swelling was just tonsillitis... then my uvula felt sore, still does a bit.. throat not that sore now but BOTH lumps still there. The second swelling goes into the bottom of tonsil crypt... I am praying it's somehow connected to tooth decay, or the first lump is maybe a cyst which is somehow draining into the tonsil via the second lump and into the crypt, but googled too much and now so anxious about cancer. Has anyone else had anything like this?
View 14 RepliesI had bunion surgery and repair to second toe 7 weeks ago, no longer wear the ortho shoe started swimming this week and have had 2 buy shoes for extra wide but my foot is still swollen and more so by the end of day has anyone else experienced this ? Luckily I am signed off work for 4 months as surgeon felt as a nurse should make sure ok before I go back

Is it common to have set backs when it gets more painful again before getting better again.
View 39 RepliesMy son has had swollen eyes on and off but usually only one eye but is has happened in the other. I was told it's not pink eye probably allergies.
This morning he woke up with half of his lip upper and lower really swollen, no bites, not dark, just swollen.
When this happens whichever area is tender not itchy (except his eye but not all the time).
I had unprotected sex for like a week straight 3-4 times ,a day good intense session each time, with a girl i know is clean(STD Wise). Well thats what i thought(showed me legit papers so that's legit). Anyway the day after the final day of having sex, i notice a few red dots(little) appear on my head and shaft, and my scrotum got swollen red and shiny, and now today the pee hole has gotten a little swollen too. It itches no more noticeably then ever only a little bit(not like i'm itching every 5 minutes), doesn't hurt when i pee or ejaculate, its just freaking me out. I am going to get tested tomorrow but was hoping for some faster advice.
The thing is i shaved all of my junk for the first time(usually just trim) and got what i think is an ingrown hair or pimple (looks like one) on my shaft too, i don't think it's herpes but who knows, i'm just trying to figure what else all this could be.
I've had swollen glands in my neck, a swollen larynx, and hoarseness for the past few days. The outside of my throat is also sore to touch and gets red. The inside of my throat is fine and it doesn't hurt to swallow. No fever, nothing else. When it rains it gets worse. It sometimes goes away after the rain. In the past I had it and it stayed for over two years straight! The ENT could find no reason for it. Is this allergy-related? Has anyone else had this? If so is there anything that can be done? Nothing I do seems to help. I take 20mg reactine that is supposed to last 24 hours, avamys a corticosteroid nasal spray for allergies. I also take symbicort, ventolin, and singulair for asthma.
View 4 RepliesI am 10 weeks post op and I am getting periods every 2 weeks. Not as heavy as before no flooding it's the frequency that bothers me. Pretty bad period pains as well in my lower back today yesterday it was both sides of my bikini line. Everything else is better I can now walk my dog for an hour without coming home and having to sleep. My energy levels are getting better all the time. My tummy is going down as well ( although the period has made me bloated again) also I am having discharge between each period where I have to wear panty liners.
View 4 RepliesI am nearly 7 weeks post op UFE. The pain I had for a few days has gone. My leg ache has almost gone as well. My periods are strange but better than pre op. Before UFE my periods were every 3 weeks and lasted 10 days. In that 10 days I had 2 days of flooding and 1 day of pain so bad I couldn't leave the house. Now I have had 3 periods in 6 weeks. The first one was heavy no flooding and no pain and lasted 4 days (2 light days) last one was in 2nd March. Heavy and painful for 3days but the pain wasn't in my tummy it was on my bikini line all 3 days. Day 4 was normal flow then it just stopped.
So if I could just get to 3 or 4 weeks between each one I will be happy. So if that continues then my iron levels will improve. All that is left then is the stomach which is going down gradually.
