Drinking Beer In Early Pregnancy?
Mar 8, 2007
Hi. I am a guy 35 years old and I have a wife that is pregnant. She is in fourth month now, but she drinks beer from time to time, even though I tell her not to do it. She isn't a heavy drinker but still, it frightens me. Tell me. How bad is drinking beer in the early pregnancy?

I want to ask something. Most of you will think that I am mad or something. I am pregnant. I have found out that yesterday. I have one habit that is usually associated with men. I like to drink beer or two daily. Often, I drink it after a meal. Can I drink beer in pregnancy? I will not drink every day of course.

I was wondering if there was anyway to stop eye swelling when drinking beer? When i drink beer only my right eye will swell, but if i drink enough it will go over to my left eye. When i would drink clear beverages like vodka or Smirnoff nothing would happen. is there any way to stop this?

I spent 4 nights in the hospital with a BPE last month. No clotting problems before nor a history in my family so came as a shock. I'm 39 and never had nany health issues in my life. I was recently diagnosed with Leiden Factor V and told I'll have to take warfarin for the rest of my life. My doctor told me absolutely no binge drinking. (Is there any other kind?) I don't drink every day. But once a month or so I like to buy a case of beer at home or go to Vegas for a few nights and drink while I'm there. On these occasions I will drink 10-16 beers a night. There is no way I will accept not being able to drink beer for the rest of my life. I understand you can't drink on Coumadin (I would never drink one or two beers at a time). What happens if you say you stop taking Coumadin for a few days every month or so and drink? How dangerous? How long does it take for Coumadin to clear your system? The reality is this is what I'm likely to do when I feel like drinking.

I like to drink beer and can’t even imagine having a beer without cigarette. So, now when I think of quitting smoking, I can see myself without cigarette in every situation except when I take a beer. How to quit smoking when drinking a beer?

My wife complains about my beer belly. She says I look like a wreck and refuses any intimacy with me. I want to get rid of it, but I like beer more than myself. So, I reckoned that if I start running my beer belly will gradually disappear. But I’m not ready to leave beer. What if I don’t stop drinking beer and start running?

Does anyone have a problem with drinking caffeine? I want soda or coffee more than ever since I've been pregnant. I'm 29 weeks. Have you known a pregnant woman to have complications with pregnancy due to drinking a lot of caffeine?

This is my first pregnancy and I'm 7 weeks pregnant. I've got all day nausea (no vomiting) and like a dull ache in my stomach from hunger but can't seem to stomach much.
What have you found effective with taming down the nausea? I've been drinking hot water with fresh ginger but not getting much relief.

For a little background I had been having some family issues recently and was drinking 6-7 shots most nights. I live a healthy lifestyle besides the alcohol and am 26. I suddenly realized i had not had my period and found out I was pregnant. My husband and I had an ultrasound the next day and found I was already 6w3d. I immediately stopped drinking but I am terrified. Is there a possibility that the baby could come out of this ok? I know babies are most at risk for FAS in the first tri but I thought it was mostly apparent when mothers drank the entire pregnancy. I need to find a way to move past this

We started trying for our third and final child in March I had a period in April, I was due on on 11th May, nothing but on 12, 13 and 14th I had really light pink spotting so I was thinking it may be pregnancy but wanted to wait to test. I then started to bleed more heavy but not as heavy as a period on 18th done a test on 18th it confirmed pregnant however I am still bleeding. I have been feeling sick and have had backache. I'm booked in at epc Monday but I want to know if anyone else has experienced this and if they went on to have a healthy pregnancy? I had resigned myself to miscarriage.

I have been experiencing pains in my lower back and a very uncomfortable feeling in my stomach (almost feels huge as if I'm full term) The Dr said everything is good. I even heard my baby's heartbeat. 3 years ago I had a tragic miscarriage and I'm stressed to death. How long will these pains be there? Has anyone else experienced it? The discomfort is horrifying

I have a 17 year old daughter who suffers from Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome and severe anxiety and panic attacks. She takes 1 mg of Ativan twice a day if needed when she feels an episode coming on or if an episode has started. In the past 9 weeks she has taken approximately 20 ativan when she was having an episode of vomiting or panic. She found out yesterday that she is about 5 weeks pregnant and the OB that she will be seeing told her not to take any more Ativan but didn't give any alternative to control the cyclical vomiting or panic which accompanies it. This morning, just one day after confirming the pregnancy with a test, she was awake at 1:00 a.m. vomiting and hasn't stopped. She is in constant panic, can't eat, can't drink, can't sleep, is sweating profusely. Her boyfriend took her the the ER at 6:30 a.m. when he got home from work and they hydrated her, gave her anti nausea meds (which don't work and never have with cyclical vomiting syndrome), did an ultrasound and then sent her home and told her to eat. No suggestions on what to do to stop the panic attack that she was still in the throws of when they left the ER. She ended up breaking down and taking the Ativan, which unfortunately is not working because she is so far into the cycle of vomiting that there isn't much that can calm the panic, anxiety or vomiting. I'm worried that she's going to have to be sedated until she can wake up and not be nauseated or anxious. I'm told that this is sometimes necessary with cyclical vomiting syndrome. This is all new as she just presented with this illness in January of this year. None of her doctors want to give her anything to control the panic and I'm very worried she may end up having a complete nervous break down before anyone does anything. This can't be good for the baby. In fact it almost seems like constant vomiting and retching and panic and anxiety would be worse for a developing baby. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get someone to listen to us and help her? Has anyone had to occasionally take a low dose of Ativan for panic disorder while pregnant who has had a perfectly healthy baby? I'm at my wits end and I'm gonna end up in the hospital from stress and worry before this is all done.

This is my second pregnancy and I don't remember having them so early during my first. I was thinking it was round ligament pain but I'm having second thoughts that they are braxton hicks from the tightness feeling and the release. I did some reading and suppose they can come as early as 20 weeks and earlier if this is not your first pregnancy. I'm not necessarily concerned just surprised getting them so early. I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow.

I've been on Cerazette for the last 10 months or so, I don't get a period with this pill, so I don't know if I've missed it or not. The last 2 weeks I've been feeling so tired, all the time, from when I wake up till I go to bed, stomach cramps, feeling sick, and lots of headaches. I'm confused as I don't know whether these are pregnancy symptoms or something else?
