View 4 RepliesHi my creatinine level jumped from 1.5 in Jan 2014 to 4.29 in July 2014. My legs and feet suddenly started swelling and I urinate frequently. Since all this started,I'm also thirsty all the time. Also, I guess it's pertinent to mention that my mother (73) just started dialysis, which she does at home herself. My daughter is now on the kidney transplant list, she's 30, but hers is attributed to Graves Disease, I believe. Is Kidney issues hereditary? .

View 2 RepliesI have completed 3yrs after liver transplant. My creatinine level is ~1.7 for last 1.5year. Prograf dose is reduced to 0.5mg BD, and tac level is 6.3. Mycophenolate can not be used because it causes leucopenia.
Doctor is thinking to switch to Sirolimus. But with Sirolimus I see this warning.

View 3 RepliesI have diabetes type 2 and i take 3 pills of diamicron 30mg before start eating breakfast . I eat 1 cup of milk and 2 brown toast and today i test my blood sugar before taking my oral medication it was 216mg/dl (very high i know I'm doing my best to lower it) and after 2 hours i do the test again and it was 324mg/dl now I don't know if the oral medication stop working for me or something else.

I'm trying get control of my health problems but it seems all I do is make things worst. I have a overeating problem will eat when im board, when im not hungry in fact I eat one meal a day, a meal that last all day and in the middle of the night. Recently I have felt terrible I have constant headaches, back and stomach pain and constipation. I take mega doses of Novolin R insulin, so my sugar which would 500 is only 165 or better. recent urine test revealed trace amount ketones and sort of high protein levels. I have told my doctor my bad eating problems that I can stop, but he blows it off. I was thinking of committing myself in a mental hospital in hopes to save my life. I know death is knocking (Yes im overweight 455 lbs) The mental hospital said they couldn't commit me unless a doctor or court says so.
I have type 2 diabetes and I am pregnant. I need to know about pregnancy insulin requirements. Some of my friends tell me I need more insulin and other tell me I should stay the same. Is there anyone out that is pregnant or was pregnant that has/had diabetes type 2? I'm a little concerned about this and not sure what to do. My husbands tells me I'm a worry wart especially about my pregnancy but I don't think he realizes that being diabetic and and being pregnant is high-risk business.
View 1 RepliesI had a blood test around 7 months ago which showed my blood sugar Hb1AC to be close to pre-diabetic levels, which freaked me out. My cholesterol was also a little high.
I cut down on sweet things (which I love!) a lot, and had my blood tested again a few weeks ago. good news is that the blood sugar levels have dropped, triglycerides low, liver function great. HOWEVER, my cholesterol has leapt to 6.6! So annoyed!
The nurse quizzed me on my diet and the only thing we can pinpoint is that I eat a lot of cheese, so have started eating low fat cheese or not eating as much in general. I generally eat what I consider to be a healthy diet, oily fish, veg, etc but not sure what to believe.
I read that a high fat diet is now the way to go with low carb, but whilst this seems to have helped with blood sugar, it has not done my cholesterol any good.
I have to go back in 3 months. Anyone else had this type of result?
I first had worms young and around a year later I felt exactly the same. I keep taking the medicine but after a while it comes back. Is this serious?

View 1 RepliesI've been taking anti depression meds for years. now, and none of them have been helping. All they've accomplished to do is cause some bad side effects. I've heard that there are certain type of herbs that can help with many of the same issues as anti depression meds. One of them I've been reading up on and taking is rhodiola root extract. It's supposed to be good for depression, anxiety, among others. What I want to know is if anyone of you ever use any type of herbs? If so can you get away with using just one type of herb to do its work, or do you have to combine it or is it a must that you combine it with other herbs? I hope I can get some feedback from someone that's actually using it by experience. I've learned throughout the yrs. that they are the only ones that can give you a straight answer.
View 1 RepliesI have a complex dx including:ischemic heart disease, cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, CAD, ICD implant, renal failure, epilepsy, diabetes, neuropathy and c-spine injury.I am 38. I am med compliant and see all of my specialists and PCP regularly. After my first MI at age 27 I developed insomnia. We did sleep studies and tried many medications. Eventually we found Seroquel to work. I started at 100 mg PRN and was up to 300 mg PRN @HS. I slept well. Actually had to crawl to bed to pass out. I feel I am addicted to this drug. I am down to 25mg at night which gives me 3 hours of sleep. With my medical dx sleep is important but I also believe taking less medication with less side effects is equally important. Seroquel has cardiac and neurological side effects. My team agrees it is time to stop the Seroquel but we have no strategy. How can I wean off from this medication and still sleep?

Like apparently a lot of other people, I have lost medical insurance. I want to know literally what happens to the body once I quit taking the levothyroxine, and is it painful? How long before a person's body shuts down and coma happens?
