View 4 RepliesI am so upset. I was tested early at 15 weeks because both of my parents have diabetes. I know I didn't have diabetes because I had my annual physical with my general doc weeks before I got pregnant and no sugar issues. I failed 3 out of 4 of the tests. So I'll have to prick my finger 4 times a day and restrict the carbs in my diet. What should I expect? Is it a good thing that it if it was going to happen it was earlier than later? I just really need to hear from anyone who went through this or know of other women who dealt with GD
View 3 RepliesI just took my one hour glucose test yesterday and the doctor called me today to have a 3 hour glucose test done because my numbers were abnormal, has this happened to anyone else and not end up with gestational diabetes? I'm just worried, this is my second pregnancy and with my first I didn't have this happen, but diabetes do run in my family so I don't know if I should be worried.
View 2 RepliesOkay I barley failed the 1 hour test I think its bc of what I ate the day before . So I have to do the 3 hour one monday . Has anyone failed the 1 hour one and passed the 3 hour one ?
View 6 RepliesI did my one hour glucose test today, and failed my sugars were super high. I'm extremely embarrassed and blaming myself. But I also didn't fast the night before, I work late shifts so I come home and eat very late. Has anyone else failed the test? What happened with the three hour? Did you actually have gd?
View 5 RepliesWhat happens when you don't pass the 1 hr glucose test, they just called me and told me I didn't pass it and have to go back again next week...
View 3 RepliesI failed the 3 hour glucose test by 3 points. The Dr wants me to see a specialist. Show I be concerned? I've only gone 24-25 lbs and I'm 30 weeks pregnant. My baby is measuring small and fluid levels are dropping. So I already go to the Dr's constantly to be monitored. I just feel overwhelmed. They gave me steroid shots and are talking about inducing me soon. I don't know what to think or do. Anyone have some advice?

View 1 RepliesBut does that mean I do have diabetes? Could it have Been a mistake? I go back in two weeks to take the three hour test.
View 12 RepliesIn took my 1-hour glucose test this morning. It was horrible. I am praying I don't have to take the 3-hour one. I have been nauseous since. Anyone else get nauseous after drinking that awful drink?
View 5 RepliesWhat does the doctor do? And what time do I need to stop eating and drinking? He told me I could drink water but I can't remember what time and all that jazz...
View 6 RepliesMy Doctor gave me a call last week after having my bloods done because of feeling tired and she said my thyroid was borderline and need to go back in 6 weeks.
I've had a call today again from the GP surgery that my glucose blood fasting test was inconclusive and I will need to fast again in 6 weeks and have that done. What does it mean?
I'm scared that all the sweets I crave and eat throughout the day will cause me to have GD.
but even worse, I'm wondering whether that could cause my baby to be born with type 1 diabetes? what are the effects of GD on the baby?
So, just found out i have gestational diabetes. How many of you moms have this and do u have any advice?
View 4 RepliesSo just found out i have gestational diabetes. Can anyone who has had this tell me what it's like?
View 7 RepliesSo I failed my hour glucose test. Have to take the 3 hour next week. So upset.
View 2 RepliesI'm 29 weeks, and just failed my glucose test. According to my sono the baby is almost 4lbs already. Is that high? And what is the likely hood that I have gestational diabetes? If it turns out that I do have it how will they treat it?
View 4 RepliesAnybody with gestational diabetes when do you know when your sugar is to low or to high...what are the numbers I should stay in between to be good
View 11 RepliesHas anyone had gestational diabetes? I was diagnosed with it and everyone says I'm gonna have a big baby. Is this always true? I've only gained in my belly. I'm all belly pretty much. I think my size is normal for 35 weeks. I'm close to what I was with my first and I was all belly with him.
View 5 RepliesSo I went to see the specialist today and let me say first off I was devastated when I found out I had it last week Wednesday ftm @33wks bc it doesn't run in my family and I never had it before. But listening and talking to the specialist it's not that bad and my scoring wasn't bad at all either just by a couple points but I realize that if you just go by the diet and that the things they give you that everything will be ok. But I didn't realize that having high sugars can literally make the babies heart stop at no matter what week you are she's seen it at happen to a lady at 38wks :( that hurt my heart. Bc I don't understand how mothers to be can't follow and do what they have to do for the time being of your pregnancy in order for you and your child to remain healthy . But I pray daily so I have confidence . Everything will be ok !
