Dental Health :: Need Implants But No Space Between Top And Bottom Teeth
Sep 24, 2015
I am a young adult and I have huge problems with my teeth now after several years of not having medical coverage and extreme fear of dentists. pretty much all my molars are gone and need to be extracted, but on top of that, I may not even be able to get implants or partials because I have an even bigger issue with my bite.I went to a prosthodontist who told me that there isn't enough space between the top and bottom teeth to put anything there like an implant or even dentures and this is absolutely terrifying. He basically told me that he couldn't help me because he "limits his practice to crowns and bridges" so he told me to go back to my general dentist to ask what they can do with my bite. In the end of the day I didn't get anything out of that visit besides horrific news so my question right now is, can it be possible that I can't even get partials because of my bite? what exactly can be done about this? at the moment I have severe anxiety and fear so I can't sleep or even think because of the news that I got and I'm desperate for some good news. Can anyone please help me understand how I can be treated so i could AT LEAST get dentures if not implants?

4-5 days now i been having this annoying pain in my bottom 2 front teeth. I do not know what to do. I brushed, i've taken advil for the pain and it still is not going away. I been told by family its because i rub my tongue against them all the time. Could that be it? Is it something else more serious? Should i go to the dentist? I just want answers on what this is and want it to go away because it is driving me insane.

How can I remove the gaps in my teeth without the use of expensive braces. If there's no possible way then where can I find good but cheap braces. I am tired of not being able to smile in front of my friends and girls because it's just embarrassing.

I'm in a very low place at the moment because of ear and gum and tooth pain. Im ashamed of my teeth because they are stained browny/black and plaque round the bottom of them, also my teeth are overcrowded. I faced my phobia a couple of years ago and had a few sessions with the hygienist. Anyway they are no really bad again and i'm in agony.feeling down.not sleeping and drinking all day to numb the pain but not working also very panicky and anxious and not been at work.

I had a lower molar extracted 9 days ago & was wondering if spicy foods can dissolve the blood clot & result in dry socket? I obsessively check the extraction site & the clot is still there (even though it doesn't look as dark but maybe that's my paranoia) & if you do get dry socket does the pain happen right away or take a day or 2 before the pain starts? I ate BBQ chicken that was a little spicy & was worried I might dissolve the clot. I rinsed with salt water immediately after but have been getting occasional pings of pain since about day 5 but just discomfort & a few times the discomfort went to my ear but it didn't last long. How long does it take till the hole completely closes up? HELP! I'm so afraid the clot will dissolve during the night & it's the weekend! I've read that if you don't get dry socket by day 4 or 5 you're in the clear unless you poke @ the extraction site or something causes trauma to it is this true?

It has been 5 days since I got two of my upper wisdom teeth extracted. The right extraction does not bother me and feels like it is almost back to normal. The left side is in pain. The pain has gotten worse and is located on the two teeth closest to where the wisdom tooth was extracted. I also have pain in my ear, eye and a sore throat. I saw the dentist yesterday and she did an xray and examined the sockets and ruled out dry socket. She said the socket is healing fine. The pain in the two teeth she said is coming from a root canal on my bottom tooth (same side). Apparently, the pain is shooting from the root canal to the two top teeth. I am confused. Is this just a coincidence that the teeth that requires a root canal is causing pain to my upper teeth near the extraction? The tooth that needs the root canal is not painful. She has given me antibiotics and pain meds, however, I have not seen any improvements. The two teeth that are in pain do not have cavities. Has anyone experienced this before?

I am hoping to get as much information about an issue I start experiencing this week. I woke up Monday and noticed my bottom front teeth are now hitting the back side of my top front teeth, when I close my mouth fully (teeth clenched or chewing). Prior to this I could clench my teeth without issue and this unusual touching did not occur. That said, this is freaking me out.
I have an appointment with a Dentist next week but want to educate myself as much as humanly possible. I have spent considerable time researching this but am getting tired of the same links appearing in my searches. While not getting all the answer I seek.
I have read here that this is the first sign of TMJ. I have gone through listing of the symptoms and I quite literally have next to none. I have no headaches, no migraines, no tight or painful jaw, no loss in range of motion, no jaw popping when eating or opening and closing mouth (I can make it pop if I move my jaw from side to side. I have been able to do this since I was a kid though). I also don't grind my teeth, though I have always had a habit of clenching a few times throughout the day.
I have had tinnitus for a couple years now due to loud music, so I guess this is the only listed symptom I have. But like I said, the tinnitus has been caused by hearing damage and been around for some time.
Has anyone here experienced what I am currently?
If so, what was the treatment?
How did you fix this?
Is this TMJ?
Are there any self administered treatments I could start trying?

Does anyone have any experience of this? I've been reading up on it, and many sources advise against implantation for people with autoimmune conditions. It seems this makes it more likely that the body will reject the implanted titanium screw. I gather it doesn't happen immediately but can cause a problem over the years.
I smashed up my mouth quite comprehensively during a fall nearly thee weeks ago. It looks as if three of the four loosened front teeth are going to tighten up again, but my dentist and I are not sure about the fourth one (a central upper incisor).
Unfortunately, the standard test for tooth death doesn't work in my case, as the pulp cavities in all my teeth are filled with calcifications, and therefore completely insensitive to heat and cold. This was discovered by chance 25 years ago. We therefore have to wait and see. So far, the tooth - the edge of which sustained only a minor chip - hasn't changed colour, but it's still very painful and mobile.
I'm not going to agree to any attempts to stabilise the root by passing through the root canal. Two attempts at doing this in the past 25 years have resulted in dentists eventually giving up after months of trying unsuccessfully to get through the calcifications, following which the remains of the tooth had to be extracted.

How do you all maintain the whiteness of your teeth? Im fed up of using stripes and home remedies. It will show effect only for few days, then it is old self. Ive spent a lot of money for teeth whitening products so one of my friends suggested me to go for teeth whitening treatment from Centenary Dental Clinic in Toronto. I just want to know if there will be any side effects for teeth enamel after whitening them? What are the foods that I should avoid after whitening my teeth? I would also like to know the side effects of teeth whitening.

Has anyone had laser teeth whitening done. I am not talking about the gum shield things, I am talking about a gel and light system being done in a beauty salon. It appeals to me due to it not being done in the dentist ( which I hate) and the price is about half what the dentist will charge. I spoke to someone and they said the result after 45 minutes was fantastic and the 24 hours later was even better.
So just checking if anyone has any experience of laser teeth whitening.

I have noticed lately that my teeth are very yellow. This is down to the orange juice that I drink. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on teeth whitening......the best products around or are you better booking an appointment with your dentist if they provide the service?

I have pretty severe acid reflux that affects my teeth badly.. 7 months ago one of my back teeth crumbled leaving about a quarter behind. My dentist reconstructed the tooth out of white filling.. I've only had it in for 6 months and it's turning a brown colour and it absolutely stinks? I know it's the filling as I can smell it if I run my finger across it.. I'm also getting pain under the tooth.. Not extreme but a really annoying dull ache.

For several years I have had a lump on the lower gum that appears, then if I poke with a needle it releases blood and disappears. It is right next to some teeth that catch food, I have to floss after every meal. It also seems as if the gum and cheek are joined there, rather than separate as on other side of mouth. Dentist said I should have hospital appointment but I don't think it is anything serious as has not changed over the years. It is annoying having to floss all the time but have to put up with it.
