Dent In Arm - Fat/muscle Erosion?
Jan 27, 2014
I'm not entirely sure if this is in the right place, but for a good while now, there's been a bit of a 'dent' in my left arm. I can't take a picture because you can only really notice it when you feel it, but there's a definite dent in muscle or fat or something.
Oddly enough, it's the exact place where I used to rest my arm all the time against my desk, but I wouldn't have assumed it's possible for fat/muscle to erode away.

Just been for my routine 3 yearly smear and doctor found a cervical erosion. Said its totally nothing to worry about and is sending me for it to be cauterised. Just a bit scared for my smear results now as they've always been normal.

I've just moved to a very dry climate and have spontaneously experienced a corneal erosion. I had a recurrent corneal erosion many years ago. Is it possible that this is the same injury returning or is it more likely that I have scratched my eye without realising it?

I had this condition undiagnosed for many years its frequency has increased from once a year to twice a month or so. Eye drops such as chloramphenicol and chloromycetin make it worse. Chloramphenicol ointment Chloromycetin ointment and Simple eye ointment seem to be the only treatment that works. I have to sleep on my back to avoid my eye burying into the pillow if I sleep on my side. To ensure I wake up and have no problem I have to apply a blob of chloromycetin and a line of simple eye ointment into both eyes at bedtime.

I was just wondering if anyone had been diagnosed with Cervical Ectropion? After many months of being told my abnormal bleeding was just due to PCOS, I finally saw a GP to did a proper examination on my cervix today. She has said I have Cervical Ectropion and that I need a referral to a gynaecologist to have it cauterised. She did say they will have look and around and check everything else is fine, which worried me slightly that there was something she wasn't telling me. But knowing that she has referred me on a 4-6 week referral and not the 2 week referral reassures me a little.
Anyway, I was just wondering if this common with women who have PCOS, the GP explained it was likely due to my hormones, since it usually happens in pregnancy or women who are on the pill.
Any insight/advice/reassurance appreciated.

When in bed at night I struggle to turn over or move as I feel so stiff and sore. Once out of bed and moving I am much better. I initially find it hard to become upright after sitting for any length of time. About 2 years ago my daughter noticed my right calf was much smaller than my left one. I cannot raise my self onto my toes on my right leg due to loss of muscle/strength in the affected leg.
I have had blood tests, nerve stimulation tests and a muscle biopsy. My CK level from my blood tests was slightly raised, my nerve study tests were abnormal and my biopsy only showed minimal change.
I now cannot raise my arms above shoulder level to the front and if I walk at a quicker pace my lower back feels like I have no support and I get pain around my lumbar region.
I go spinning 4/5 times a week and cope with this very well. It's as though once I'm warmed up my stiffness diminishes. I am 51 and have only one period every 3/4 months , I have been to the dr's re the menopause but have been told all my blood tests are normal.
i have been referred to a neurosurgeon and neurologist with ? A form of muscular dystrophy but now my muscle biopsy result has not shown the expected result.
i struggle going up and down stairs often. I feel so fed up with my inability to do what I want to do as I have always been an active person. I have put weight on and cannot motivate myself to control my diet.

Although I try to be as active as possible my muscles are making life for me difficult, as for years they have been wasting, causing pain and tiredness. All other symptoms point to Fibromyalgia, which I believe doesn't cause muscle wasting.....also have Osteoarthritis. My muscle problems started in my mid. 30s.....am now 63 and is much worse. Recent blood tests show normal muscles values....but something must be wrong as my energy level is very low. Has anyone been /going through the same??

So I was about to finger myself and when I felt my g spot it wasn't slightly hard like always. I know it might be because the g spot is in front of the bladder, (I just went to the bathroom before starting to masutbate) but I'm a hypochondriac and I worry about everything. It's a bit squishier and it just feels like it dented inwards a bit. It might go back to normal in a while because of the bladder thing.

I had a cortisone injection to a small cyst that was on my face for almost 2 months. It went down after a day. It has been a week and there is a small dent forming around where the shot was given. I was worried about this as I had heard this could happen, but my derm. was not and explained it was unlikely. Can I expect the dent to get worse? Feeling really bad and worried.

My sister has a depressed skull fracture or a dent as we say from her birth in UAE. She was born from a cesarean section with an unfortunate use of forceps. That left her a dent or depressed skull fracture at the skull vertex. It is visible on physical examination. But when we went to doctor, we had complained about poor balance , coordination and failed to draw light on this fact. The doctor could not study this by CT and MRI. That failed to study this dent. This may be owing to lack of detailing ie by reconstruction of CT scanning.
Throughout her life ,she has been suffering from Developmental coordination disorder /minimal brain damage, owing to this. She has recently an official diagnosis from UK.

Well back in January i accidentally hit the sharp edge of table with my thigh. It did not bleed at all, it did not hurt much either ( pain went away a few minutes after the hit thankfully) . It was a bit swollen and more red, no bleeding and it started to form bruise afterwards. Well now it is May, so 4 months after - bruise is going away but i can see that area where i hit the edge is not flat anymore. It actually has some indentation, dent in it ( not big, not much deep, rather superficial but very visible when i stand and on certain light). It also looks like it is still darkened, 4 months after, like bruise is still not completely gone. I think darkening somes from bruise still forming and not from shade of dent. Not sure

Seen my dr today. Had to get my bloods done as well. My gp didn't know anything about the dent in my forehead, she seen it and felt it. She asked did I fall, my reply was no. Steroids thin the skin, I know that. Also mentioned about a terrible ache in both calves muscles when I put trainers on and try to walk a couple of yards. She asked was the ache in both calves and I said yes, her reply was then it's not achilles. She is going to chase the rheumatologist up as I haven't seen one yet. It was endocrinology who made the referral to a Rheumatologist so gp is going to chase it up. I feel I am going it alone, other than this website, I would be totally lost. My gp is good she was off when I was going for pain relief and was still undiagnosed and then diagnosed by a locum dr. in the practice.
