Complex Cysts :: Extra Ovarian Structure Which Likely Represents Hydrosalpinx?

Feb 28, 2015

I was wondering if anyone has had unmatching ultrasounds and MRI and what you recommend.  I had an ultrasound (transvaginal) which found 2 complex cysts (1.0 and 1.8 cm) and two "cystic structures" separate from the left ovary (one 3.1 cm and one 2.1 cm).  They recommended a pelvic MRI which only stated 3.6 cm x 2cm extra ovarian structure which "likely represents" hydrosalpinx?  Not sure what to do as the results don't match?  Second opinion?  Unclear imaging?

Ovarian Cysts :: Along With Pancreatic Cysts

After multiple tests (ultrasound, ct scan and MRI) I was told I have complex ovarian cysts 5×4 cm on both ovaries and pancreatic cyst that is over 1 cm . I have 2 questions. 1. Since I very much refuse and will be refusing contraceptives , how else naturally can I cure ovarian cysts? 2. Can acidic taste in my mouth with coating on my tongue and lower back pain be due to pancreatic cyst?

My symptoms:-

-Gassy pain after eating

-Very painful menstrual periods with lots of large clots  (can't go without strong painkillers, sleepless nights due to pain)

-I do feel the right ovarian cyst even when I'm not on my period (when stretching or laying on my back)

-Lower back pain

-acidic taste in my mouth with whitish/yellowish coating on my tongue

-I'm tired often. Hard to get up in the morning.

Complex Ovarian Cyst During Pregnancy

At my 12 week scan I was told I had a large cyst on an ovary and would be seen at 16 weeks to check it. After having to chase I finally saw a consultant last week who said that the solid bit was atypical. They don't want to operate and biopsy straight away cos of risk to baby, but have had ca-125 blood test and MRI yesterday. The scanner came out to tell me my scan had to go to a particular radiologist and they were sent immediately. There is a multidisciplinary meeting today where hopefully all my results will be looked at, but my next consultant appointment isn't until Thursday.

8.5cm Complex, Separated Ovarian Cyst

I guess I am writing this more for reassurance and comfort, as sometimes it helps to get things out. I'm just under 27 years old, and here's my experience so far with a complex ovarian cyst.

Two weeks ago I went to the ER after suffering from severe pain on my right side. Blood work was normal, but a CT scan revealed a 7cm cyst on my right ovary. The ER doctor and nurse told me to follow up with my regular gyn, who would most likely monitor it and complete ultrasounds every 6-8 weeks to check for growth. They said it was not an emergency unless I suddenly developed major, excruciating pain. They both said that ovarian cysts sometimes have to be removed, but ones like mine (the said the shading on the CT scan looked like a normal cyst) should be fine and probably go away with my cycle. (I've never had any issues previously. In fact, just two weeks prior to this happening, I had my annual appointment with my gyn, and all of my tests came back normal.)

Three days later I met with my gyn, who promptly scheduled me for an ultrasound. She seemed concerned about the cyst due to its size and said she thought it'd definitely have to be removed, since it was already so large and because of the fact that I I have it while being on birth control (birth control, she said, is often prescribed to lessen the change of developing cysts. Go figure...) I became nervous after this, because the ER doctor and nurses didn't seem concerned at all, but my gyn did.

The next day I went for both my regular and transvaginal ultrasound, which returned the following results:

"8.5cm Complex cystic lesion with septations and what may represent a small papillary excrescence. No flow is noted to the solid component of the cystic portion. The appearance is nonspecific and both benign & malignant etiologies could give this appearance. Its size however is concerning."

Upon receiving those results, my gyn referred me to a gynecological oncologist; my gyn said that due to the fact that they cannot tell whether its benign or malignant, a gyn onc. must be the person to handle it.

My consultation with the gyn onc is on Tuesday, and while I'm trying to stay calm and optimistic, I've been a wreck at the thought of cancer. Of course, I Googled...and I read about so many characteristics of complex malignant cysts that seem to match up with mine, which scared me. The fact that the cyst seemed to grow so much in just three days between tests (1.5 cm) is frightening too...although, I'm wondering if there could be a discrepancy between a CT scan and an ultrasound? I am nervous to see how much it will have grown when I meet with the gyn onc.

The hardest part has been the waiting - I just want to know what it is. It's been a long couple of weeks. At times, I had myself worked up into a frenzy of worry, which only made the pain worse. My gyn has been fantastic through this, reassuring me to just take it easy and try not to worry too much...but it's easier said than done. Meeting with a doctor who specializes in cancer treatment and practices in a cancer hospital is just a scary thought (but also comforting, since God forbid it is cancer, I know I'll be in good hands...) It doesn't help that I've also always been a hypochondriac.

Does Complex Ovarian Cyst Affect Fertility?

I am 31 years old and my husband is 46.  We have been ttc for 2 years and then 8 months ago I had an ectopic pregnancy.  They managed to save my tube.  I never had any issues with ovarian cysts but after my ectopic I started getting a vaginal pain.  It felt like a deep pain and sometimes it burned when we were intimate.  Initially I thought it could be a yeast infection.  I have never had a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis but all the symptoms of a YI was a bit like the pain I was experiencing.  I spent a lot of money on otc stuff but they seemed to aggravate the pain.  The pain was affecting me daily and at night I could barely sleep.  The only thing that would help a bit was when I lay in a hot bath.  I started getting spotting mid cycle which was something I have never had.  I started seeing a new doctor which is a specialist gynaecologist. On the ultrasound she picked up a 35mm cyst on the opposite ovary as the one where the ectopic was.  It looked like a functional cyst but she said she would like to remove it surgically as she could then check my tubes to make sure they were open so we can try and prevent a repeat ectopic.  So I had the cyst removed via laparoscopy and it also showed my tubes were open.  After surgery the pathology reports showed that they cyst was actually a complex cyst.  My doctor was surprised and said it showed all the features of a functional cyst.  She said it was a mucinous cystadenoma.  On my follow up appointment she found that there was still some of the cyst remaining of 10mm.  She said that these cysts has the potential to turn to ovarian cancer but she didn't want to rush back to surgery because she was scared of damaging the ovarian tissue with more surgery.  I was then monitored with CA 125 blood testing.  Right after surgery the blood test was 40 then it gradually came down to 24 and lastly 14.  I believe its supposed to be below 30.  The cyst was benign though but could turn malignant.  Yesterday I went back for a checkup and the cyst was now at 20mm.  My doctor wants to go back into surgery because she said the ovary is playing up and the cyst will just grow again to the size it was.  Im still having some pain but its basically 100% better than it was before the 1st surgery.  My doctor was against removing the ovary but now she asked me if she could remove the ovary if she goes in and the ovary is damaged. She will however try her best to save it so that my fertility doesn't take a knock....

Does this sound about right in the situation?  How will it affect me having one ovary only? Can this type of cyst affect your fertility and does it affect your hormones as I'm having very sore boobs for a few weeks now?

Lesion On Left Ovary Could Be Complex Ovarian Cyst (1 Inch Diameter)

I'm 37 years old .After having slight pain and tenderness in my lower abdomen I decided to go to the ER where I was diagnosed with a lesion on my left ovary that"could be a complex ovarian cyst;however, there is a small chance that it could be something more serious like a mass" is the way that it was writing my discharged papers. The doctor said its 1 inch in diameter. I've been experiencing this pain off and on for a few months. Now I'm freaking out. I am going to schedule a follow up with my gynecologist next week. Should I be worried that this is cancer?

Ovarian Cysts :: Affect My Opportunity To Have Children

I am 28 unmarried but would like children someday. I recently found out that I have an 8cm dermoid cyst on my right ovary. I have an appointment with a surgical physician in about a week and a half.  They found it during an ultrasound as I have been having pain in my lower right pelvic area.  The ultrasound tech told me they generally remove them with surgery but that is about all the information I received.  The call after the ultrasound was just to schedule this f/u appointment with a surgical physician.  Am I right to assume surgery?  I would like to be a little prepared before i walk in there.

I would appreciate anyone who has had a similar situation to tell me the likelihood of surgery,  how the procedure went, recovery time, etc.  I understand everyone is different but I am having a hard time finding concreting information.  And am working myself up worrying about it.  Especially if its going to effect my opportunity to have children.

Ovarian Cysts :: Solid Mass On Ovary

I went to the dr for a BV infection and 15 days of light bleeding and heavy discharge. I was sent in for an ultrasound and the discovery was:
Thickening of the endometrium with irregular margins measuring at 23 mm at its thickest. also in my right ovary they found a complex solid appearing area measuring 22x17x17mm which they said could reflect a hemmorrhagic cyst though an endometrioma should not be ruled out. I have to wait until March 2nd to see the specialist on this and I must say I am beyond freaking out out on this... any advice

Ovarian Cysts Removal :: Thyroid Cancer History

I am a 50 year old who started having left back pain two months ago.  After pelvic US discover 3.8 cm complex cyst.  Gyro recommended waiting and follow up ultrasound, so two months later repeat ultrasound showed an additional 2.5 cm complex cyst, original was measured at 3.1 cm.  Gyno Dr recommended surgery to remove left ovary and both cysts.  I still have left back pain, some pain when urinating, constipation, so stomach upset.  Part of me wants to continue waiting in pain to see if they resolve, but it's not fun having the not severe but constant ache in my left side.  Have a history of thyroid cancer, but have been cancer free for 4 years.  I am in perimenopause, periods are very irregular.  Went 3 months without a period, had a period, and now it's been two months with no period.  Have a surgical consult with gyn/ob at Kaiser Mr. Talbert in Sunnyside Oregon next Thursday.   I need advice and suggestions on what to ask Dr.   Part of me just wants to do the surgery and get it over with, but the other part thinks what if I wait and they go away?  With my history of cancer (I had a 10% chance that my thyroid tumor would have been cancerous and it was) I'm a little leary of just saying that since there is only a slight chance of complex cyst being cancer I shouldn't worry about that.  Maybe should have the cancer test?

Ovarian Cysts :: Adnexa Of My Right Ovary Enlarged - Low Level Echoes

My pelvic ultrasound showed a septated right ovarian cyst measuring 5.3 x 4.1 x 6.1cm, small amount of debris within the cyst, trace amount of free fluid within the right adnexa and my right ovary enlarged measuring 6.0 x 4.4 x 6.3cm. There were low level echoes and the septation echogenic lateral wall. Can anyone help explain the meaning of this? Type of cyst or cancer? I had cervical dysplasia about 10ish years ago and then had a cryosurgery and LEEP and all papsmears have been normal since. I'm very worried, I am 30 years old with a one year old and 8 year old.

Epidermoid Cysts :: Sebaceous Cysts On Bikini Line Area

I have 2 sebaceous cysts on my bikini line area near my rear end. They have both gotten infected and I put ice on them to bring down the inflammation. When the infection was gone, I put hot compresses on them to help get them to form a head and when they started to drain, I helped by squeezing them. I have been using antibacterial soap in that area and they haven't come back so far.

When I was first diagnosed that these were sebaceous cysts, my OB GYN had said that it was best to not have surgery because of their location. She had prescribed antibiotics - which didn't help.

I didn't see a lot of comments about cysts by females in the bikini line region, so I wanted to share my experience in case someone else has them in that area of their body. I wish there was an easier and less painful way to get these suckers off of me, but I have yet to find a way.
