I started citalopram yesterday and today I feel horrendous. Nausea, headaches and my anxiety is a millions times worse. I literally feel like I can't function. I'm going to take the tablet tonight as can't cope with feeling so bad in the day. Did people feel the same and when is the best time of day to take it?
View 42 RepliesI have been on citalopram since Monday as I am having anxiety and depression I have not been at work all week due to the side affects I have felt awful the nausea is getting me down also the fidgeting in the night not been sleeping great the first night I only had 5 hours and felt all spaced out so now I have been taking the tablet at night.feel very anxious today but I think it might be the fact I am going to try and go back to work tomorrow.feel like all my work colleagues are bitching about me they prob not but can't help thinking like they are.I have been taking motilium for the nausea my mum works in a pharmacy so she can check what I can and can't take with the tablet hope that helps someone who is suffering with the nausea.
View 1 RepliesI have been on 20mg of cit for 3 1/2 months. Generally feeling a lot less anxious and over the worst of the side effects. Would love to put on some weight, but most troubling is the daily headaches. I have never been a headachy person, so this has thrown me to some extent. I understand what people are talking about when they refer to a tight band around your head and eye pressure. I hope this disappears soon, because it is making me feel like a paracetamol junkie.

View 2 RepliesTwo months ago I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and took antibiotics but after I finished them I still wasn't feeling great so my doctor put me on another round. Finished those and then began having slight headaches, lots of nausea, sometimes vomiting and diarrhea and extreme exhaustion. I have had two blood tests and nothing shows up I have an ultrasound this week but does anyone have any idea of what this could be? I am a normally healthy twenty year old and this is keeping me from work and school!
View 1 RepliesI was on the Birth control shot for 9 months. I was supposed to go in between Aug 11th-Aug 17th. I Decided not to go because I had every side effect possible. After I got off of it I have been bleeding. It's not the same everyday some days it spotting but most are like a light period. I also get bad cramping on some days. I have experienced nausea, headaches, cramping. It is now September 24th. I have been having these problems for over a month now. Anyone have the same problem? And if so is there any way of knowing when this will go away? Or anything to make it at least more comfy to get by it all?
View 1 RepliesMy anxiety had seemed to have kicked in again out of the blue ! am currently taking 20 mg and have been taking this dosage since dec9/14, started out on 10 mg which eventually seemed to reach a plateau hence the 20 mg dosage. this week past was that time of the month for me and is ordinarily a rough go without the cit. The past 2 days have been really rough with what seems to be anxiety kicking up , almost to the point if there was a way to climb out of my body i would. Doing all i can to keep busy along with walking 5 km a day, Up until my period things seemed to be good... not sure what is going on! my doctor didn't seem to want to address it and i'm not sure why, now it seems i'm gonna have to go back again.
View 24 RepliesI have been taking these pills for about 10 days and initially the side effects were awful, nausea, sick, no appetite, more anxious and virtually no sleep. After taking first pill in morning I realised it made me sleepy so switched to taking before bed in the hope it would help with my sleeping. Unfortunately not - did get one good night at weekend and felt so much better yesterday but last night it's like back to square one. Anyone got similar experience - currently on 10mg citalopram and don't see doctor again till November.
View 33 RepliesI have been taking venlafaxine for 4 weeks now 2 weeks at 37.5 with 10mg of citalopram and the last 2 weeks at 75mg a day on its own the last 2 weeks I have been experiencing more anxiety and feel tense all the time I'm more snappy with my kids too will this pass as Iv changed on to this medication as citalopram wasn't helping me any with anxiety and low mood. I just want to be me again I keep having racing thoughts which had all stopped.
View 2 RepliesI have been on cit for 4 weeks. My doctor decided this morning that she should increase my dose from 20mg to 30mg. I'm not sure why she decided to do this because I've actually been feeling close to myself for the last 2 days and I informed her of that. Since I've been home from the appointment my anxiety is creeping back in. I think it may be due to worry of increasing the dose. Should I expect to have increased side effects and/or anxiety after taking the new dose?

I'm looking for explanations to why after a week of increasing to 20 mg my anxiety / and depression appear to be worse ? Anyone else had similar ? I have.a Family wedding this weekend and am panic stricken / family staying at the house ( I have taken to wandering during the night time insomnia and couch sleeping to help with the anxiety ) I can't imagine how I'm going to get through it !

View 6 RepliesI took the plunge and took the tablets 40mls a day twice a day for around 3 weeks, then due to side effects, reduced to 10 mls twice a day.
My constant panic attacks are not there anymore, just now and again. I found that the tablets must of interacted with the citalopram 10mls as I felt really alert of them and couldn't sleep, general anxiety symptoms were increased. Since reducing I am able sleep, my pulse rate is still up, but not as bad as before.
I get physical symptoms from my anxiety and depression and wondered if Citalopram has helped anyone get relief from this ? Does it also work to relieve pain does anyone know ?

My husband goes to work very early and I hate him saying he is leaving, my anxiety is dreadful in the morning and sometimes lasts all day, when I go to bed at night I already start worrying about the next day! I am on day 9 of 20mg of citalopram and propranolol so hoping meds will start working soon. But does anyone fill withdrew due in the morning?

Iv started getting really bad teeth chattering and jaw aches.
Should I stop taking the medication and ask my dr for a new antidepressant or should I increase the dose to 20mg?
I was prescribed citalopram for anxiety.
I didn't have any physical symptoms of teeth chattering prior to taking cit.
I've been on 20mg of cit for just over 4 weeks now almost 5, and at first it was great. My mood picked up, anxiety went way down, and my OCD drastically went down. But now, I've been on a steady decline for almost 2 weeks and i feel like I'm at square one again. High anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, and no appetite and depression all over again. Obviously I need to something differently but I'm wondering if I just need an increase or just try a whole new med?
View 3 RepliesSo yesterday I got stressed and my Heads been hurting ever since.. On each side of my head, the pain is behind my ears and up on the side of my head a bit.. My anxiety is finally calming down after a 2 day long panic attack basically, but now it's my head.. Is that a tension headache? Do any of you get them? What are some positions I can do to stretch out the muscles if it is from tension?

View 2 RepliesSo I've got a headache and took some ibuprofen and it has taken the edge off it a bit but it's still there. It's on one side around my right eye and goes to the back of my head at the bottom. But of course my anxiety is making me worry. Normally I'd say it's just a headache but today I'm thinking its other people things like I'm gonna have a hemorrhage or go crazy I don't know. Especially as the tablets didn't make it go away. Hate anxiety so much!
