View 4 RepliesI haven't been in here for awhile, My husband took harvoni and is free of hep c, He has been on the transplant list for 4 years, He had the tips procedure done in 2011 because of a bleed out that almost killed him, He has had liver cancer, They probed the cancer and it is gone, He is on lactulose because of H E , Also he vomits every third day and no one knows why, So we had a meeting with the transplant doctor yesterday, and because his hep c is gone and his meld score is only 16, They took him off the list, I asked what would happen if he got worse or whatever, And they said we would have to start over again, So now we have decided, no matter what we have been sitting too long , it's time to enjoy life and start traveling, Whatever happens ,, happens,,, Had to vent Thanks
View 1 RepliesI am writing to see if anyone has any ideas for my father in law in Japan. He is in the hospital and the oncologists, and disease specialists cannot diagnose his condition. He has had a fever for over a month, diminishing strength, trouble breathing, and inflamed lymph nodes and spleen. It is my understanding that he has a low white blood cell count as well.
View 1 Repliesmy dad is in hospital at the moment. he has liver cirrhosis and he's in a bad way. i'm trying to find out whether he has a chance of getting back to his old self. he has jaundice his arms have gone really thin. he has had GI tract bleed. a stomach ulcer, swollen stomach and his toxics from his waste are going to his brain. when i've seen him he is just confused or sleeping with his eyes rolled back in his head. any ideas on whether his body could recover for a while or whether this is game over.
View 2 RepliesI am a 34 year old male who was diagnosed with hemochromatosis only after a liver biopsy because i only have one of the genetic markers. When diagnosed my ferritin was over 5000. Shortly after i was diagnosed with stage 4 cirrhosis of the liver. Is anyone out there in the same boat as me.

View 5 RepliesI just need to ask that my father was on sovaldi treatment for 4 days when his (serum) creatinine level shot up to 2.53 which later came down to 1.96 and now at 1.43. He has no renal impairment and his kidney ultrasound and detailed urine report is perfectly normal. He is cirrhotic (Hep-c) at stage 2 according to doc (hep-c) which stopped the sovaldi + ribavirin treatment to save his kidneys. However during the period he was also on diuretics (furosemide) occasionally. His nephrologist says that it is safe to continue sovaldi treatment but the other doc gave a red flag (I have yet to have a discussion with the nephrologist). So I am asking that is it possible that creatinine levels change because of sovaldi or do i need to the change my doc? Also he has edema occasionally. He also has acid reflux.
Age: 58 Sex: M Height: 5'10" Duration: a year (stopped sovaldi: a month) Location: Pakistan Medical Issues: Hep-C, 2nd Stage cirrhosis, acid reflux, depression, anemia Medications: Furosemide (Depending on edema) Rabeprazole (Twice daily half and hour before food) Folic Acid Vitamin-D and Calcium
I am 30 years old, height 1.83, 82 kg weight. Before a few days I had an abdominal UT. All my organs were diagnosed normal beside the liver, which was diagnosed ''marginally dilated 16.5 cm'', and the spleen which was diagnosed as ''dilated 13.5 cm''.
Let me add that on the same day I had a blood test and all the liver and spleen indicator had normal values (SGOT/AST, SGPT/ALT, -GT, alkaline phosphatase, scrapbooks, albumin regarding liver and leucocytes regarding spleen).
I never had such a UT test in the past so there is no reference for previous size of my liver and spleen.
This period I am having ''Donarot" (crystalline glucosamine) and up to three weeks ago I was having Naprosyn (inflammatory, totally 60 pills in two month period) for orthopedic purposes.
Finally, for the reason that I workout out I occasionally use food supplements containing whey protein, creatine, amino-acids, carbohydrates etc, always as per dosage instructions. For the last two months I did not have any supplement at all though.
I could upload a pic of my UT, if this helps.
What is your opinion? Is it a dilation for sure, even minor one? Could the diagnose be wrong? What are the normal dimension? Can this dilation be related with the medications and/or the supplements I use? Should I take any further tests?

View 1 RepliesJust got the MRI results. LOL had it done to try and confirm mass on my Gallbladder. The Radiologist suggested that I have a CT done it would be better tool for that.(more money) So all the ducts were ok and within limits in the liver pancreas and gallbladder. However my spleen was mildly enlarged i'm guessing this could be from the fatty liver anyone here have personal experience with this?
View 1 RepliesBeen chasing ruq pain for 3 months now. Ultrasound showed diffuse fatty liver and a contracted gallbladder with a asymmetrical mass 1.3cm with no stones. then the mri showed a mildly enlarged spleen but no liver abnormalities but didn't address the GB, suggested CT for the GB. Hida scan showed ejection rate at 27%. Blood work just came in this morn, RDW at 17% all rest normal except high triglycerides and cholesterol. 3 more appts this week hopefully someone will be able to find out what all this means and if there is actually a mass there. don't want to lose GB unless i need to.
View 1 RepliesI went to the doctor for burning when I urinate. She said I had high WBC in my urine. She sent off for a culture. It came back neg for infection. She sent me to kidney doctor to check for stones and ordered a CT scan. The kidney doc said I still have high WBC in my urine and checked my prostate for infection which hurt really BAD. No infection there. The CT scan showed an enlarged spleen and liver. I have been having a low grade temp and pain in my left and right side and low energy. My blood panel came back normal but the doctor is sending me to a liver doctor for a biopsy. She thinks my liver is causing me problems for my spleen. My question is with normal liver blood work how can my liver still be enlarged and causing me problems?
