Bruxism :: Gaps Between Teeth And Future Insecurity
May 17, 2015
I'm 24 years old and my teeth and quite badly grinded down, my whole life I have been grinding my teeth have just never been able to stop, it was much worse when I was younger and in my teenage years but I still can't help but do it. To make things worse I have been looking for a partner recently due to being alone pretty much my whole life and I feel like I will never find somebody having teeth like this, they are straight and don't have big gaps or anything but a fair bit is missing. I did all this damage to myself as a kid when I was too stupid to know better and try harder and now I may be alone forever I feel so ugly, I'm not exactly attractive anyway. The insecurity and worrying about my future is getting too much.

How can I remove the gaps in my teeth without the use of expensive braces. If there's no possible way then where can I find good but cheap braces. I am tired of not being able to smile in front of my friends and girls because it's just embarrassing.

I have very bad teeth with many gaps and bad gums that bleed when pressed with a moderate amount of pressure. http://m.imgur.com/x9yG8yk How should I fix them. I was thinking of improving my gums then replacing the top 4 with partial dentures.

I am hoping to get as much information about an issue I start experiencing this week. I woke up Monday and noticed my bottom front teeth are now hitting the back side of my top front teeth, when I close my mouth fully (teeth clenched or chewing). Prior to this I could clench my teeth without issue and this unusual touching did not occur. That said, this is freaking me out.
I have an appointment with a Dentist next week but want to educate myself as much as humanly possible. I have spent considerable time researching this but am getting tired of the same links appearing in my searches. While not getting all the answer I seek.
I have read here that this is the first sign of TMJ. I have gone through listing of the symptoms and I quite literally have next to none. I have no headaches, no migraines, no tight or painful jaw, no loss in range of motion, no jaw popping when eating or opening and closing mouth (I can make it pop if I move my jaw from side to side. I have been able to do this since I was a kid though). I also don't grind my teeth, though I have always had a habit of clenching a few times throughout the day.
I have had tinnitus for a couple years now due to loud music, so I guess this is the only listed symptom I have. But like I said, the tinnitus has been caused by hearing damage and been around for some time.
Has anyone here experienced what I am currently?
If so, what was the treatment?
How did you fix this?
Is this TMJ?
Are there any self administered treatments I could start trying?

I suffered with this terrible condition and went through hell till I was prescribed Climagest 2mg and Vagifem which has now been changed to Ortho Gynest as Vagifem was discontinued. The medication changed my life. I am like a new woman. My consultant told me it was only safe to take for five years and now a month away from being taken off it. I am getting in a state of panic thinking of going back to suffering. What is my future ? Is there anything else I can be offered. I am also looking at natural alternatives. Read a lot about carlson's Vit E and DHEA caps. Any advice from anyone that could help ease my mind about the future of my condition would be helpful

I'm 25, a stay at home mum to 3. I've had problems with my back for a few years now which was put down to spinal stenosis. I've been in and out the gym for a long time, but I started to enjoy running in the morning too. My back then started to get worse, so I was referred for physiotherapy.
At the end of November to the start of December 2015 I started to get sciatica symptoms, it started just over a week after I started physio, I kept going for a few weeks which was difficult but I wanted to give myself a good start at recovering. I got very bad very quickly on the 18th Feb, I couldn't do anything without being in agony. I was admitted to hospital for a week to try manage the pain, I was given an injection into the nerve ending and sent home. This worked for a day!
The symptoms came back with a vengeance, I couldn't do anything, walking only to the toilet, which I'm ashamed to say I didn't make it in time every time. I couldn't sit up. I spend my time on my front with my knees tucked under me, it was the only position that reduced the pain to make it easier to deal with. I was on 50mg of mst, taking oramorph every couple of hours, and a few other meds. My gp was amazing though, he could see the pain was too much, and instead of a referral to surgery, he called a spinal surgeon himself. After getting an appointment the following week the surgeon agreed I needed urgent surgery, thankfully! After my pre assessments I has my discectomy. date for the 14th April 2016! So I've been lucky to be seen to soon.
The surgery went to plan, they done all they had to and without any problems. My blood pressure and heart rate caused some issues after the surgery, BP too low, heart rate too high. I was given 2 drips which did improve it temporarily. The results were instant, the pain had reduced, I could sit and walk the next day. There was pain, but nowhere near as substantial. I was sent home 2 days post op, on the ground i my pain medication from the gp Monday morning.
Today is Monday, since I've come home I've felt a whole lot worse, i feel ill. I struggle to eat, I keep getting dizzy spells, my heart keeps going crazy, hot flushes, then coldness. If it weren't for this, the recovery would be so much easier. I'm hoping it corrects itself, and doesn't warrant a visit to the gp. I feel I've overdone it and my leg has been very painful today, since this afternoon I've done nothing but worry about my future. Will I recover? Will it get bad again? Will I have a good quality of life? I only found out just before my op there are 3 damaged discs the middle one l4/l5 is the one that herniated. What would that mean for my future? Will that cause more problems?

So a couple nights ago I drank and can't remember part of the night. The funny thing is usually when I get drunk a trip n fall and that type of stuff and remember it fine. I wasn't drunk enough to be doing that but the whole night is hazy. And I guess I tried to have a conversation with a buddy's mom and I don't remember it. The bad thing is there are thoughts and feelings I have that I hope I didn't tell her about and I'm afraid I did. I'm to chicken to ask. I kept on telling them I wasn't drunk. I also remember thinking this is my last beer and I'm done but I'm pretty sure I drank more after that. All the people that I was drinking with say I was very drunk. And I just can't remember. I know my drink wasn't spiked or anything. But I'm also told my husband wanted me to go to bed and I didn't want to don't remember that either. I did start drinking on an empty stomach. But then I ate after about 2 beers.
My question how to prevent future memory loss cause sometimes it happens sometimes it does. And why. And does anyone think I would have said embarrassing things to the buddy's mom
Ps I'm not an alchohalic And I'm of legal drinking age and a responsible adult 90 percent of the time

I am starting MTX on Friday and am a bit nervous to start it, mainly because I have some dental work that needs to be done and I cannot afford it. Does anyone know how MTX affects the teeth? Will it make my teeth worse? We do not have dental insurance and I have one tooth that probably needs a root canal and didn't know if the MTX would make things worse.

Getting my wisdom teeth out this Friday and I'm really scared. My lower right side is impacted and growing horizontal and causing my right cheek to be a bit swollen and my neck as well. I have slight jaw and tooth pain and war paint. Dentist prescribed antibiotics for 10 days and I started the course yesterday and going to continue it after the surgery to prevent infection. I am very scared of this procedure although so many people have gotten it done. I have extreme anxiety and this is causing it to sky rocket. My dentist sedated the patient which I'm glad about due to me not wanting to actually be aware of what they are doing. He doesn't do IV sedation he does oral sedation. I take two halcion pills and two antihistamine pills an hour before the appointment and I should be very relaxed by the time I get there and he will give more depending on how I am when I get there. Two friends did oral sedation though and said it was okay. But a lot more have done iv. I was told it's less of a sleep feeling with oral sedation because I'm not put out immediately but I will most likely not remember the actual procedure. I'm scared can someone share their wisdom teeth experiences and maybe if they took the pill or even just how it feels like to wake up after and stuff. I'm scared that I won't wake up from the sedation although I'm not gonna be actually sleeping.

How do you all maintain the whiteness of your teeth? Im fed up of using stripes and home remedies. It will show effect only for few days, then it is old self. Ive spent a lot of money for teeth whitening products so one of my friends suggested me to go for teeth whitening treatment from Centenary Dental Clinic in Toronto. I just want to know if there will be any side effects for teeth enamel after whitening them? What are the foods that I should avoid after whitening my teeth? I would also like to know the side effects of teeth whitening.

I have an abrasion and inflammation on my frenulum (the penis one) from accidental encounter with my wife's teeth about a week ago. I applied neosporin for 4 or 5 days and that seemed to help some. But there is still some inflammation and sensitivity to touch (negatively so).
How long should this take to heal completely? Is there something else, like over-the-counter hydrocortisone that I might apply to it? How long should I let it go before seeing a doctor about it? What doctor? Urologist? Dermatologist?

I've had RSD diagnosed since 1987, and the rheumatologist who diagnosed me, made me think back and he actually told me that I've had it since a child. I'm 68.
My question is, has anyone had a problem with their teeth fracturing? I've always had good teeth, but this year 4 fractured and fell apart and out. This evening eating dinner I had another one just fracture up and it was gone.
I have asked my 4th Dr. now, if it was the Suboxone I had been on, he immediately said no, who told you such a thing? I said no-one I was asking you a question! I have bad TMJ, which I think is just another area of RSD.
On Pain Meds, I can keep active and fit, keep my joint mobility. I am a horse trainer, so it is imperative that I had my pain addressed. Well that stopped in Nov. Have not had a pain since then. My new Dr. had RSD himself, in his foot and physio fixed it, so he figures my is all gone. He told me to take a Tylenol 3 or Aspirin. I am getting pretty stove up right now, pain virtually everywhere. And now I have no backup.
I live in BC Canada, and when we moved to the Chilcotin, the Dr.s in the nearest town have gotten together and said they would no longer give narcotic type drugs to anyone, and they would not send any of their patients to specialists, because they gave their patients too many drugs they didn't need. Now does that make sense, they should listen to themselves.

Has anyone had laser teeth whitening done. I am not talking about the gum shield things, I am talking about a gel and light system being done in a beauty salon. It appeals to me due to it not being done in the dentist ( which I hate) and the price is about half what the dentist will charge. I spoke to someone and they said the result after 45 minutes was fantastic and the 24 hours later was even better.
So just checking if anyone has any experience of laser teeth whitening.

I am 50 yrs old and have had CP for 4 days now. Luckily, I feel relatively OK but have a strange numbness along my teeth/gums. It feels as if I have been to the Dentist and the injection if wearing off. This only started two days ago and I am wondering if this is a symptom of CP and if anyone else has had this?

I am getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow and I am very very nervous. I have severe anxiety all the time so this is not helping. I will be getting the sedation pills so I don't feel or remember the surgery. I am just scared about it and scared of the sedation etc. I just need some advice and encouragement please because I'm freaking out. I've been having so many complications this last month such as my jaw swelling and neck swelling on the same side as my impacted horizontal tooth. I got so scared that I had to make an appointment to get them out.
