Breastfeeding :: Cracked Nipple

I had my little man on March 17, and since then I've been trying to breastfeed. It was going okay until I got a cracked nipple. All it does now is extremely stress me out. It seem like my little man is trying to eat more and more, and it just hurts so bad. I started him on formula, and he seems so much more happy. He's willing to actually be awake now without needing to eat, he also sleeps much better. I have pumped three bags of milk, but even the pumping is starting to be uncomfortable now. Are any mother not breastfeeding? Do you feel guilty?

So I had my son on the 26th and everyone has been telling me to switch to formula because I have flat nipples and the only way to get my son to latch is with a nipple shield. My doctor said that as long as I'm feeding him I'm doing great but my boyfriends mother is under the assumption that because I'm using a nipple shield I'm going to give my son bad teeth. Is this true?

I wrote a couple months ago after a Pleurisy diagnosis following chest x-rays. As it turns out, it was a cracked rib that I had, NOT viral Pleurisy as the Dr had suspected. The cracked rib did not show on the chest x-rays, but I was told they don't always show. It took about 5 weeks for the pain to go away. Sometimes I can still feel it slightly when I do certain things. Just wanted to follow up in case anyone else had the same misdiagnosis.

I have had a chronic cough for 4 weeks now and still coughing. Just yesterday after I coughed, my right side rib was hurting alot. It hurts to move, breathe, and cough. The pain also goes to my back on the right side and up to my armpit. Is it possible that I have cracked a rib from coughing too hard?

my son is on accutane and the worst problem he has right now is that the corners of his mouth ar so dry that they have cracked, he can hardly eat. he has been using blistex, vaseline, etc.what to put on corners of mouth so he can smile.

For the past six months I have been experiencing a continual condition of extremely dry, cracked patches at the exact center of the palms of both hands. Prior to the start of this condition six months ago, there had been no problems of this type other than on the outside of the hands during the winter months. I am a 48 year old male in good health and have held the same job and job conditions for the past 25 years so my environment has not changed. I have tried many OTC cream products with no positive effects. I work with my hands and am becoming desperate for help in finding a solution.

A few days ago, my vagina was itchy and I think I scratched it too hard because it became raw and sensitive and there were red-ish stuff underneath my fingernails.
the next day my boyfriend fingered me and there was blood, quite a lot in fact. it looked as though I had my period. however, I already had my period this month. I suspected its because my vagina was raw from the scratching and the fingering made it bleed.
today, I realized that the areas where I scratched had formed dry skins/scar-like stuff.

I recently got married and you could not imagine the depression (especially after waiting for our wedding night) that loomed over me because I felt like....to be blunt... I had a gross vagina. I always made genital health a priority and it seemed the more I kept myself clean, the worse the problem got. At my breaking point, (keep in mind I am african american- thus brown skinned) the skin in the crease of my bikini line, the entire vulva, my perineum, and my butt crack were bright pink, raw, cracked, and bleeding. yet still itchy. I saw 3 gynecologists, 2 dermatologists, and 1 primary care physician. All of whom diagnosed me with lichen simplex and then lichen simplex chronicus. Imagine my relief (the first time!) I then started a laundry list of creams and ointments that just made it worse in some way or another. The list includes: Lidocaine solution, Desitin, Rx strength hydrocortisone, triamcinolone acetonide, Miconazole cream 2% and 200 mg capsules, Clobetasol Propionate ointment and the cream, Sarna lotion that was refrigerated (although scintillating when applied to the problem area, i wanted relief not pleasure), Triple Antibiotic ointment, estrace cream, clotrimazole Betamethasone cream, domeboro soaks, and lastly nystatin powder. Believe it or not, the best one out of all of these was the powder. I was just about to give up when I broke down to a very close friend who happens to be a primary care physician (He is 31 years old, for those who care) while getting dressed up for my new bridegroom I told my friend about the problem and was looking for something to emotionally prepare me for the coming night. I wanted to tear down walls when he GLANCED at my problem area, shrugs his shoulders and says......"ok, so you have jock itch. It's not the end of the world."Yes ladies. It was JOCK ITCH! Unfortunately it was too late to save my honeymoon. However I went to Walmart, purchased Bacitracin and a few different jock itch treatments and started immediately. In two days the symptoms had relieved themselves and the only issue remaining was this feeling like I had cuts in my pubic hair area right at the hood of my clitoris. PAINFUL!!!! It just wouldn't go away. Finally, after babying it, I couldn't take it anymore. I had to get a closer look. Against better judgement I used an ELECTRIC razor (it left very short stubble which I wanted. Last thing I needed was to nick the skin or get razor bumps). Once completely bald, I hopped in the shower, washed the area well (it burned) washed with summer's eve vaginal shower wash (burned a little too), got out, dried off, and then applied straight bacitracin to the ENTIRE pubic area. I suggest if you are going to try this, right before you do it, take a deep breath and remind yourself of all the sleepless painful itchy nights. Why? Because it burned like I was exorcising the devil out of my clitoris! After about 5-10 second, it stops burning and I go to bed. Since then, I have used the Tinactin (jock itch spray on powder) from time to time. I am happy to say I have not touched an antifungal product in two weeks. All signs of the problem are gone. ALSO my skin is back to normal. If you are worried about scarring, it didn't happen to me.
I had sleepless nights and embarrassing days for TWO years fighting this damn LICHEN SIMPLEX (which just means dry skin FYI) when all I needed was some jock itch cream.

Since four years i'm having a problem of high level of prolactin. my younger daughter is going to be 5 in oct. I've used the "parlodel 5mg"daily for 6 months or so. The discharge controlled but now one of my right breast is still having a drop of green discharge when i squeeze. since, a week or so i'm feeling slight pain under my breast. i want to ask that what this exactly is? Is this the indication of some cyst or tumor in my breast?

I had this weird feeling for a while in my left breast just felt odd. I was feeling it the other night wondering what it was and felt a large disk shape under my nipple. I freaked out got really worried and then looked online and realised it could be puberty. But the symptoms are much more like the cancer ones. It's only in one breast and doesn't really hurt, doesn't look really much different but sometimes goes in, in the middle. I felt it tonight and it's a different shape, it's like a large oval shape just larger than my nipple a few inches maybe. It's hard very hard and really worrying me and upsetting me. Please help. Can't sleep or be happy. I have definitely started puberty but don't think finished. I'm quite small and skinny too.

At first my breast was really itchy so I scratched a lot and that caused the skin around my nipple to Peel. After that I noticed some liquid coming out of that area so I put a napkin inside my bra. Later, when I was trying to pull the napkin off, I noticed it's stuck to the part where it was watering. So I pulled on the napkin and it did come off. But that again caused the skin to peel and i saw yellow dry stuff on the napkin. At night instead of sticking to my bra or the napkin, it would get stuck to my shirt and it would look just like the napkin. So after a few months I visited my family doctor and he gave me a special cream to put on twice a day and if it doesn't get better I should see him again in two weeks. After 3 days, my breast was completely normal again so I stopped using the cream. But it came back again. It would start itching then the skin around my nipple would tighten and crumble. I would pull on my skin and there would be cracks on the skin. During the day, the skin would Peel and the same thing would happen all over again.
Please note that this only happens to my left breast.

I am a little concerned about a pain i've been having in my left breast beneath/under my nipple area? ...ive not banged it its not itchy it just hurts (stabbing pain )when touched...iveits not during menstruastion its all the time...the actual look of my boob has changed my 32d bra on the left feels fuller and quite tender...milk seemed to be leaking from them but it was a tiny amount but has happened a few ti.es (my daughters nearly 7!)..i feel tired all the time as sleeping is uncomfortable...i also came out in spots/a few weeks ago which are still healing ..not sure if thats related but thought id mention it...any advice or help would be gratefully accepted ...i have 'rang' my male dr who said it sounds like chicke pox/shingles?

So yesterday I felt something hard in my chest (under nipple area) I started to mess around with it because I was curious about it and It felt like a little ball. I looked online and multiple websites said young boys around 12-17 during puberty. So I shrugged it off but today I woke up and I had a really bad headache and i was listening to music and I sneezed and started bleeding from my nose. I read that signs of cancer are small lumps in chest and headaches, I'm really scared pls help.

I'm 14 1/2 and I started growing hairs around my nipples a few months ago. There's a complete circle on the left breast and nearly on the right. There are 46 hairs on the left and 29 on the right. They are dark and thick and some are quite long. I tried to pluck them out but it hurts. I am still developing. Will there be more? I'm the only girl in my class who has this.

I'm a 35 yr old male and about a month or so ago I discovered a small white shot right in the middle of my right nipples. I went to my physician and she ordered a mammogram followed by an ultrasound. Both came normal. However, I have pain on the nipple on and off...there is no discharge or redness that I can see, but the white spot is still there and maintains the same size.

Me and my roommate share a room but we have separate beds. She has a 4 month old baby. She adopted her 4 week ago. My roommate stimulated her breast a lot to cause to them to lactate. Sometimes when she done she lets me suck on her nipples because I love the taste of breast milk. Usually when her boyfriend comes to our to go that sweet taste of breast. Sometimes we like to open our mouths and she squirts the milk into our mouths. Sometimes we even play some games like who can make breasts squirt the farthest or who can make her breasts fill the glass fastest. Its a lot of fun but the both of us are having some troubles. My problem is that I want to lactate to but when try using the breast pump I felt this weird sensation. It felt like when your foot goes asleep. I noticed that there was this yellow fluid in the bottle. I quickly ran to the bathroom, tooked the breast pumps off and squeezed my nipples and this fluid squirted out for ten seconds every time I squeeze it and ever since I pumped them they usually squirt out the fluid 4 times a day without me squeezing them. Staining my all my bras and usually when take my bra off the fluid shoots out all over the mirror. My roommates problem is that her left breast is producing this green stuff instead of milk. It started when she complaining about her left breast being sore because I don't suck on that one as much because it dose not produce as much as the other one. So sucked on it and this foul taste came in my mouth. This taste unlike sweet taste of breast milk this taste tasted like barf and I almost threw up. I squeezed her nipple and this green stuff came. It was sticky and it had this foul odour.

Ok, what if you are definitely not pregnant, you are on Mirena so haven't gotten your period in years and have been waking up occasionally with a off white-yellowish ring around your right nipple and your stomach feels like there's a lot of pressure until you go pee. so weird right? It's happened a few times and only on my right breast, which coincidentally has a small lump (I have gotten an ultrasound and it doesn't look like it's a concern) help?
