View 1 RepliesFor a bit over 3 weeks, I have had diarrhea. I was having 15-20 movements a day for the first week, but now it's closer to 6-10. There has been white and yellow mucus in the stools regularly, and they have varied a bit in consistency, but mostly have been watery. It smells very bad, and just a few days ago, lots of black flakes have been appearing in the stools; they look like coarse pepper grindings. I haven't had a fever, and just this morning started to develop some pain in the front right of my abdomen.
I've been tested for salmonella, c. diff, and likely a few other things via stool samples, and everything has come back negative. I also had a CAT scan which showed some inflammation in my colon, but everything else looked okay. Just this morning, I had a movement that was entirely mucus and black flakes which smelled like rotten eggs and burned quite bad coming out, and it freaked me out a bit. It might take a few days to set up the appointment for a colonoscopy, I'm wondering what is the possible prognosis, and at what point I would need to go to the ER.
I am 32, and have always been in good health. I stay active, and have no family history of cancer or digestive issues.
I've had this problem for over three years now. At any time of the day I feel as if air is escaping my butt and sometimes my vagina as well. I never noticed it myself until I realized others reactions, it also makes a sound all the time almost like a humming. I don't know what to do I don't go out of my house because of this people always start laughing at me and saying things but i don't know what causes this. Last year it did stop for a few months but just recently started up again and i can't seem to figure out why this happens.

View 1 RepliesI discovered these irritating bumps around my anus area that soon developed into tender ulcers.. so I went to the doctor to have them examined and she told me she couldn't really tell if it was herpes being the fact the bumps were scattered and they are each at the base of a hair follicle... so she swabbed them and sent them off for a lab test and I'm currently waiting for my results by the end of this week... I've never experienced anything like this before and the only symptoms I have is itching and I do believe I can feel my lymph nodes in my groin are swollen... has anyone else ever experienced anything like this and what does it sound like to you?

View 1 RepliesI have had IBS for 20 years, and have been treating it with fiber therapy pretty successfully. In the last few months, i've had some odd bowel movements. the first one i noticed was long and thin and tough, like an elastic. i thought tapeworm, but my stool tested negative for worms. i can't explain it, but after wiping and checking it flings itself off the toilet paper a fair distance. I'm afraid to ask my doctor because he scoffed at me when i told him that i thought i had worms. i had a colonoscopy for my 50th birthday in august and everything checked out. Any idea as to what's happening?

It hurts Underneath the skin but doesn't have any colour to it. It's about a inch the left of my anus hole. I have recently had a stomach virus so have been straining alot. And the lump hurts more when I pass stool.
View 2 RepliesI have a protruding bump from my anus when I have a bowel movement. It comes out when I have a BM and then goes back up when I'm done. Sometimes it will stay out for a day or two. There is also occasion minor bleeding from this. There is sometimes shape pain while having BM and sometimes no pain at all. Sometimes I have diarrhea and sometimes it's harder to come out. There generally isn't much pain except when the bump/lump won't go back up. This has been going on for years. I am 33 year old female. What could this be?
View 1 RepliesI'm 31, male, and up until monday i hadn't had the urge to poop. Finally when it came on monday night it was much to big and was hurting very badly when trying to push it out.
Since then i have tried everything. Suppositories, stool softener in pill form, miralax, and now my anus is extremely sore and hurts and im getting stomach pain and it hurts to sit down because of all the pressure in my colon.
I also did try using a medical glove and vaseline and breaking it apart. Got some out but it's still in there.
At this point i don't know what else there is to do. Should i go to the er? I'm feeling that's the only option left.
I currently have a chest infection an am on antibiotics . Today I coughed up yellow phlegm with darker yellow flecks in after doing my physio.

View 3 RepliesI sit and try to have BM and while doing so, my legs go numb from sitting too long. The little I do have them is small and ribbon like. 2 or 3 droppings each time. Stomach hurts all the time. Gassy all day and night. My stomach makes the worst sounds.Thought maybe colon is packed tightly or something. I eat a lot more than I use the bathroom. If I eat more than twice a day I will spend the majority of my day in the bathroom so I avoid eating especially during work hours. I also have a hard time drinking a lot of fluids and if I drink too much I end up vomiting? I have heartburn almost daily and ironically water seems to make it burn more than most beverages so I really don't drink near as much as I know I should. I have had several upper and lower scopes, colonoscopies, breath test and worked with nutritionist and they all are baffled and tell me nothing is medically wrong with me? I recently feel like im constantly on the verge of getting charlie horses in my legs, have random blurriness in my eyes and I'm just tired. I am broke out of my mind and quite frankly feel hopeless because even if they did find something I can't afford to treat it? I'm frustrated, scared and exhausted. I have no idea what is left that I can do?
View 1 RepliesFor some reason whenever I feel an intense build up/explosion of gas inside me coming up my throat/diaphragm or when I have a sudden huge burp (of course, I can't control or expect it when its so sudden), there is a sharp short pain in my right side of the head a bit above the ears and closer to the temple. Similarly this happens when I yawn very strongly as well.
I read that this could be due to tight neck muscles, and to give some context, I did strain/pull my neck when I was during a session in lifting weights a few weeks ago (around 7-9th of July 2015), but I don't recall this feeling during the time I felt strained.
Perhaps my neck is still in the process of recovering, and hence this tightness is causing me the problem? Although, I do not feel neck pain from the pulled/strained neck any-more (the soreness/pain only did last me few days before I felt fine again), the neck could still be in fact recovering?

The stools are usually of diarrhea consistency yet kind of tar like + they are nearly solid black.
I am a generally healthy, 22 year old male. However, I have a persistent problem with my digestion, particularly my stomach.
The issue began when I was 16. I would often have to do a poo multiple times a day, and I had some cramps. My stool was often undigested food. My doctor diagnosed IBS.
This continued off and on until I was 20, when I went to India and got two intestinal infections: one was a bacterial infection, which cleared up after a week of antibiotics (although I continued to have bloody diarrhea), the other was a parasite, which also went away after a week of an amebicide. However I continued to have issues with my bowels, with a black stool.
This has continued up till now. I find I often have pain in what I assume is the stomach area (the area of my top two abdominal muscles). I have frequent bloating, I burp a lot, and discomfort after I eat. I have a lot of trouble digesting vegetables, and if I eat them raw I can see them in my poo undigested.
I dont know what book to buy im a person who wants to learn about maintaining normal sized and hydrated defecations and so have to learn about the ways of reading the feelings of the digestive system like what its calling for and also the observation reading of defecated feces and then what to learn and what to consume or not and there maintain balanced bowel movements.
