I'm 17 and going on the birth control pill but extremely indecisive about what brand to use. I prefer something that helped my skin and didn't effect my weight. I know everybody reacts differently, just wondering what brand has worked well for some people?

View 1 RepliesI started the Nuvaring July 11, which was the first day of my period. I did notice that my period was lighter than usual. I couldn't really tell when my period ended because I've had a mostly brown discharge that followed my period. (TMI I know sorry) It's now the 23rd and I was really wondering for how long does this brown discharge usually last? Other than the discharge I haven't had any other side effects. Did anyone else develop other side effects after having discharge?

View 1 RepliesI was on the Birth control shot for 9 months. I was supposed to go in between Aug 11th-Aug 17th. I Decided not to go because I had every side effect possible. After I got off of it I have been bleeding. It's not the same everyday some days it spotting but most are like a light period. I also get bad cramping on some days. I have experienced nausea, headaches, cramping. It is now September 24th. I have been having these problems for over a month now. Anyone have the same problem? And if so is there any way of knowing when this will go away? Or anything to make it at least more comfy to get by it all?

View 10 RepliesI've had Nexplanon for a year now and within a month of getting it put in, I've gained almost 30 pounds with no change to my diet, exercise or daily routines. I've tried dieting and exercising and can't seem to lose more than ten pounds.
I'm finally getting it removed but I'm having a hard time deciding what BC to use next because I really want to lose this weight and I'm scared the next BC I use is going to give me the same issue.
Has anyone else had this issue and found a BC that was better without the weight gain?

I also take vyvanse and it helps a little. What I'm asking is how to lose weight fast and keep the fat off. View 2 RepliesI've been using the implanon for a year now I've had it before and that first time I had no periods at all for a whole year got it removed due to weight gain. This time has been at the opposite I'll have my period and continue spotting the whole month until I get my period once again. Most of the time the spotting is really light but a few day ago I've had a lot of cramps not a lot of spotting but ones I go to the bathroom to pee I have notice little blood clots in the urine. I have made an appointment with my doctor next week for a regular check up. But I do feel a little bit worried it'll be somethings bad! Do you guy think is normal ?

I never considered birth control but i was told it would keep my period regular and clear up my skin. december i got my normal period but January i was 6 days late. when i actually got my period i was skeptical about going back on the nuvaring since it left me almost a week thinking i was pregnant. I don't like irregular periods which is y i didnt go on birth control before so i stayed off the nuvaring. Now this month i got my period two weeks early, and just had it two weeks ago.

I am 19 years old & weighed 112 but weigh 106 as of today. It is not that I feel disgustingly full, I just don't have any interest in food & when i do try to eat it is almost as if i get sick of eating, if that makes any sense?
2) Acne- I am drastically breaking out on my hairling & chest.

I have recently been diagnosed with a 17 cm fibroid (which I believe has grow) I was prescribed tablets to shrink it but I have read that there is bad side effects which include weight gain, I have struggled with my weight and lost over 5stone so I am reluctant to start taking the tablets. I am 40 years old no children, in a loving supportive relationship but I am very scared in agreeing to a hysterectomy.

View 2 RepliesI consider myself to still be new to taking the pill as a form of birth control. Just when I think I have it figured out, something new would happen which would make me doubt it's effectiveness.
I am currently using Chateal, which contains 21 active pills and 7 placebo pills. After 6 months of taking it as directed, I assume my body should be used to the side effects. I would get nausea from taking it so I switched to taking it at night. I have been taking it that way for 3 months now.
But I have noticed since first started taking it, I would get severe cramps and backaches during the second week of the pack for a few days. I assumed I was ovulating while on the pill because I noticed my cervical mucus changes throughout the month. My understanding though is the pill is to prevent ovulation thus preventing pregnancy.
Can you ovulate while on the pill? Is my birth control pill type too low of a dose for me? Could it be something else?
