Birth Control :: Taking The Pill - Non Stop Bleeding For 16 Days
Nov 15, 2015
I had my implanon removed the beginning of October and immediately started taking the pill. I have now been non stop bleeding for 16 days. Should this be happening even while taking the pill? I would think the bleeding would be stopping or at least slowing down at this point, but it's not!

I used to be on the pill a while ago and I recently decided to go back on it. I accidently took the sugar pill on my second day of having my period not realising I was meant to start taking the active pills. Can I continue taking the sugar pill or do I start the active pill?

I consider myself to still be new to taking the pill as a form of birth control. Just when I think I have it figured out, something new would happen which would make me doubt it's effectiveness.
I am currently using Chateal, which contains 21 active pills and 7 placebo pills. After 6 months of taking it as directed, I assume my body should be used to the side effects. I would get nausea from taking it so I switched to taking it at night. I have been taking it that way for 3 months now.
But I have noticed since first started taking it, I would get severe cramps and backaches during the second week of the pack for a few days. I assumed I was ovulating while on the pill because I noticed my cervical mucus changes throughout the month. My understanding though is the pill is to prevent ovulation thus preventing pregnancy.
Can you ovulate while on the pill? Is my birth control pill type too low of a dose for me? Could it be something else?

Can Plan B stop my period? I had unprotected sex Thursday night (3 days ago) and I started my period Saturday. I had purchased planB that morning and decided to go ahead and take it anyways just in case because I was bleeding abnormally little (my first/second day of bleeding has always been the heaviest). I continued to lightly bleed throughout Saturday, but now (Monday) my period has been completely stopped for over 24 hours. My period is always 5-7 days, heavy at the beginning, and has never stopped this early on or stopped and then started back up. I'm concerned it has stopped because I am pregnant and am freaking out a bit

I took Cerazette for 9 days, felt so ill i came straight off it. Anxiety attacks, racing heart, was off work for 8 weeks it was a nightmare. its now 3 months on, my periods are getting somewhat back to normal, but i've been left with a fast heart rate. I've been rushed to A&E a few times its been so fast i thought i was having a heart attack. i'm now on beta blockers to keep it under control until it's investigated. its ok sat down, but if i try and walk or do anything it goes through the roof.
I've heard of other women that have had this but i'm desperate to find out whether it will eventually go back to normal on it's own or has it left me with long term issues.

I started birth control pills almost three months ago. As soon as I started taking them I bled and bled for the whole time I was on them, so almost three months. I recently decided in the middle of my third pack that I would stop taking them and get off of the pill. I am still bleeding two days after but it is heavier than the usual bleed I had on the pill. Is this my period starting? If not how long will the bleeding last until it stops?

I have not had a period since June of 2013 and i got off the depo shot in December 2013, and I had unprotected sex on the 27th and 28th of June, i took the plan b pill on June 28th two hours before having unprotected sex again! During the week of July 6th I had bad cramping so I got on the pill (do not know the name if it) and was taking it daily, then I forgot to take it during the beginning of the 14th week, because the pill was making me nauseous. On July 16th I had dark red and brown blood in my underwear, this bleeding only last for 5 minutes and that night i took one of my birth control pill and on the 17th when i wiped i had light brown on my tissue. so I took a pregnancy test the same day and it came back negative, so i took another one the next day and it came back negative too!
my question is was this ovulation or implantation bleeding or did i bleed because i missed taking my birth control pills?

I started taking tri-Lo Sprintec 9 days after the ending of my last period. I took the first 3 on time but I started getting really sick and couldn't hold anything down so I waited and doubled up on the the 6th day until i got caught up on day 9.dayWell I started I period on day 7. I thought the first 7 pills were placebos to help keep track.
Did I wait too long after my last day of my period to take them and being inconsistent with taking them caused me start a period? Also, if I keep taking them will it stop my period?
The menstrual blood itself looks dry blood with clots. But a few times its been red but again majority of it looks like dry blood.

I've had two depo shots. I got the first in June 2015, the next in September and I'm due for another one at the end of November. I experienced light bleeding/spotting during months July-Sept. After my second shot in Sept, I began to experience mild/heavy bleeding. It is said that bleeding would most likely stop after 6 months of using depo-provera.Should I wait it out or change birth control method?

My nuvaring fell out in the toilet after only being in for one to two days. I didn't realize it for a day or so. I was on vacation so couldn't get a replacement. I have been bleeding ever since it fell out. Will the bleeding stop? Or will I bleed for a month?

I have been on the combined pill (Gederal) for a couple of years now but my doctor wants to change me to the Mini Pill (Cerelle). My Combined pill is perfect so i don't want to change. I mentioned that i had one migraine with visual disturbance and she explained to me that even one of these migraines is a reason to come off the combined pill. The combined Pill regulated my periods but she explained that this mini pill is now going to make me irregular.

I have been on the pill for a year and I stopped taking it just over a month ago. I was having sex just up until I stopped taking it (long distance relationship). Just after I stopped taking it I had a light period but since then I haven't got a period again and it's currently 12 days late. I had some PMS right before I was supposed to get my period but it never came. I'm scared that I could be pregnant because I know a girl who didn't know she was pregnant until it was too late because she was still getting her period! Do you think I could be pregnant or that my period is just irregular (my period was regular before I took the pill).

So I have a question about taking the pill half an hour late. Is it normal to get anywhere from spotting to your actual period a few days after taking the pill half an hour late?
I'm 20 and have been on the pill since 14. I've tried YAZ (the best by far but not covered by health care) and a few others, currently on the generic brand of Levlen Ed.
Only recently, say the last 1 - 2 years I have noticed that my body is working almost like clockwork when it comes to taking the pill. If I take it anywhere from even just 15min late (though typically occurs from half an hour late), I will undoubtedly get spotting or even my period a few days later.
I cannot find anyone on internet forums who experiences the same. A couple of hours maybe but not to this extent. Most women say they can take theirs hours apart with no effect.
My question is, is this normal and why has it only been the last few years? My body used to work just fine with the pill.
