Birth Control :: Plan B In Combination With Nordette?
Mar 21, 2015
My partner and I had unprotected sex during my period (on 3rd/4th day). I'm to start using birth control pills for the first time on the 5th day. My period usually lasts 7 days.
Unfortunately I'm in a foreign country and pharmacies are closed till Monday which will be about 60hrs later when I can take plan b, and by then I'll be taking birth control pills.
Should I take plan B in combination with the birth control or should I simply go ahead with the birth control pills.
I am aware that what happened was irresponsible and unfortunate especially as I had already planned on being safe. Help and advice would be much appreciated.
If it helps, the Birth control brand name I am meant to begin using is Nordette. Doctor said I can start having unprotected sex once I begin using.

My last period started Sep 5th 2014 and ended the 9th. My period calendar says I had ovulation the 17th. On the 19th I had protected sex then the condom slipped and some semen came inside of me. (my calendar also says I was fertile that day too and my last fertile date was the 20th) An hour and half later after the mishap I went to CVS got Plan B and took it. So it wasn't like I waited 12 hrs or a day to take it. So my question is will the pill work even though I already ovulated. They say the pill is 95% effective when taken within the 24 hour time frame. I did feel dizzy and nauseous the morning after taking it and I was also very tired. I also felt some minor cramps the other day and lower back pain as well. So do you guys think I have a slim chance of getting pregnant even though I ovulated and took it 3 days after I ovulated?
And I mean why would they sell the pill if it only prevents ovulation because some girls don't even know when they ovulate or when they are most fertile.

My boyfriend and I are both virgins. But today, messing around he tried doing it anal and it went in a little only for a few seconds because I told him to stop but were not sure if the precum might have gone into my vagina , so we immediately went to go buy the plan B and I took it between 1-3 hours right after the whole incident , am I going to be okay?

I have been taking Birth control pills for 7 days now. Today my boyfriend and I had sex without a condom and he came inside of me. Since I haven't been on birth control for very long should I take Plan B? I was told by my doctor that it will be fine to have sex with no condom after 7 days of taking the pill, but I was reading that sometimes it takes more than 7 days for the pull to fully kick-in.

Me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex around July 25th, 2013 and i went to planned parenthood two days later and took plan b. I got my period about a week late in the beginning of August when I usually get it around the 28th, then in September I got it around the 14th, and I haven't gotten my period yet, could it just be late, or could there be a chance I'm pregnant. I really need some help because I'm freaking out here. And I knew I got my period because it was heavy like it usually is and I had severe cramps too, so is it normal to miss my period after taking it? Or is my period going to be late?

I consider myself to still be new to taking the pill as a form of birth control. Just when I think I have it figured out, something new would happen which would make me doubt it's effectiveness.
I am currently using Chateal, which contains 21 active pills and 7 placebo pills. After 6 months of taking it as directed, I assume my body should be used to the side effects. I would get nausea from taking it so I switched to taking it at night. I have been taking it that way for 3 months now.
But I have noticed since first started taking it, I would get severe cramps and backaches during the second week of the pack for a few days. I assumed I was ovulating while on the pill because I noticed my cervical mucus changes throughout the month. My understanding though is the pill is to prevent ovulation thus preventing pregnancy.
Can you ovulate while on the pill? Is my birth control pill type too low of a dose for me? Could it be something else?

I know this is going to sound strange, but I seriously want to know if anyone here has the answer to this question. I am going to be 55 yrs old in March. I have been on birth control pills most my life, but I went to a new doctor (GYN) years ago, and she told me that I didn't need to be on them because there was no possible way I could become pregnant at 53 without medical intervention.
I left her office happy until my sister told me that the doctor is WRONG and that I could get pregnant at 55! I don't have any idea if I have been through menopause, but I've not had any signs if I have. I called the doctors office back and talked to my previous doctor who wouldn't "confirm" if I could or couldn't, but she suggested I take the mini-pill (progesterone only). I am really sick of the pill and wanted to just stop taking it, but don't want to be foolish. Does anyone here know if this is a fact or not that at 55 I wouldn't be able to become pregnant anyway if off of the pill?

I just got my period in Jan 9th and I ended it on Jan 19 which is when I got my implanon removed and was sexually active with no protection, I noticed I bled the following morning so would that be normal? Could my body be getting used to not having the implanon on. Should I be concerned?

I'm not sure what is going on I have had my first natural period so thought after that things would settle down but Its still happening ,and I've been off the pill (yasmin) for about 6 weeks now, it's so distressing.

I've never been on birth control pills before and I just started taking them 4 days ago. I wanted to know if I can change the time I take it from 12:30 pm to like 7 or 8 at night? 12:30 just isn't too convenient for me anymore.
