Birth Control :: Switching From Mononessa To Tri-Sprintec

Mar 19, 2014

I just switched from Mononessa to Tri-Sprintec and I'm trying not to worry about the fact that I haven't spotted yet (two days into the placebo pills) though I've had other symptoms of my period (gassy, bloated, etc.). Can switching birth controls delay my period? I don't want to worry myself yet about being pregnant though I'm 98% sure I can't be..

Birth Control :: Started Taking Tri-Lo Sprintec 9 Days After Period Ended

I started taking tri-Lo Sprintec 9 days after the ending of my last period. I took the first 3 on time but I started getting really sick and couldn't hold anything down so I waited and doubled up on the the 6th day until i got caught up on day 9.dayWell I started I period on day 7. I thought the first 7 pills were placebos to help keep track.

Did I wait too long after my last day of my period to take them and being inconsistent with taking them caused me start a period? Also, if I keep taking them will it stop my period?

The menstrual blood itself looks dry blood with clots. But a few times its been red but again majority of it looks like dry blood.

Birth Control - Mononessa :: Severe Stomach Pain And Nausea

I have been taking mononessa for almost an entire month. (I have 4 pills left then the reminders). I'm still suffering from severe stomach pain and nausea. Tonight I waited til almost bed time to take it hoping that it will help some. Has anyone else been on this stuff and had similar side effects? I'm to the point where if I am taking it at night and still nauseous all day I will have to stop taking it. Other options?? I need advice. I'm seriously considering tubal ligation but I've battled my weight for the last 3 years. I do not want to put any extra pounds on.

MonoNessa Birth Control Pills :: Period Early By 4 Days

I have been taking the brand MonoNessa of birth control combined pills for almost 2 years now, at the same time every night (I have an alarm on my phone set to ring at the time to take it). I started taking them because my periods were so irregular.

I'm not supposed to start my period until next Tuesday/Wednesday, but this morning i woke up and as i was in the bathroom noticed some watery blood on my underwear, the same kind i get the day before my period usually begins. I put a pad on and just now I went back and noticed dark brown discharge on the pad. Is this what is called spotting/breakthrough bleeding on the pill?

My boyfriend and I are sexually active, but we don't always have sex, preferring to do other things. However when we do have sex we always use condoms. This month we have not had any sex at all, again preferring other things.

I can honestly say I have never experienced this before on the birth control pills. BUT I have experienced this before I started taking the pills. I have had perfect "periods" every month that start on the same day and have the same symptoms. Currently I have 0 symptoms of what my pill period is usually like.

Like any young adult who is startled by something appearing for the first time I immediately googled my symptoms and found that a lot of other people seemed to have dealt with this before. But now I would like a professional on here to give me some much needed advice; is this normal? I am pretty sure I am not pregnant, since we didn't have sex this month and the times we did do stuff the semen was no where near my vagina. Is any birth control pill supposed to do this? This has never happened to me before. Will it happen again? And can I expect my normal period to still happen even though I'm having this stuff today?

Birth Control :: Switching From NuvaRing To Orsythia To Norethindrone (POP)

Due to wanting to start a family within the next year and the terrible side effects that come with NuvaRing (lack of sex drive, severe burning after intercourse and of course the general discomfort of putting it in) and what happens when you stop taking it all together - I tried that one month a few years ago and my hair, which is quite long, started falling out and getting VERY thin - I decided to switch to a pill that I had hoped to be a similar dose of hormones. So my doctor recommended Orsythia.

I began Orsythia the same day that I would have started a new NuvaRing. That day I had weird severe, sudden cramps on my right side and then two days later (for three days straight) I had VERY strong leg cramps in my right calf. Since this was the only change I had made in my lifestyle, I will admit I got worried and called my clinic and asked for their advice. They advised me to stop taking it immediately and come in the next business day (I called on Saturday...so Monday) to discuss my situation.

At my visit the Dr. determined I didn't have a blood clot, but to be on the safe side we should switch to a Progestin-Only pill...since I do have blood clot concerns since I am, admittedly, a smoker. I began Norethindrone that day.

Well, this is my third day on Norethindrone...and things are happening. Not only have I basically started my period (heavy) again even though I just had one two weeks ago, but I've lost about 7lbs in two weeks (I had a dr appoint to switch to the Orsythia the day before I began my period) and my boobs look and feel as if they are getting smaller. Which is crazy since I am a 34DD and have been for years. And...my hair is being...weird.

Did I make a terrible choice? Is this natural? I almost feel as though I need to get back on the NuvaRing because I don't want things to get even crazier.I've never lost that much weight so quickly. I know I am supposed to wait for two months for my body to adjust, but I don't know if I will be able to handle it.

Birth Control :: Switching From Higher Hormone To Lower Hormone

I was on Apri for about 2.5 months. I had 3 months of pills but I skipped the placebo pills in each of the packs. I was having a lot of breast pain so my doctor switched me to Microgestin 1/20 to an actual continuous cycle prescription that has no placebos. I forgot to ask when I should start the new pills, so I just started the Microgestin after the last active pill of the Apri. Thinking back now, I probably should have waited until the end of the placebos to get a period.

About 3 or 4 pills into the Microgestin, I started getting a period. I actually had it where a huge chunk of the uterine lining fell out at once, it was white and textured like uncooked chicken skin. I've had this period for about 6 or 7 days now and it doesn't show signs of letting up. I'm worried about when it's going to end. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation or know any more details about this? I should have asked my doctor more questions when he gave me the new prescription.

Birth Control :: Ovulation And Birth Control Pill, Still New To Taking Pill

I consider myself to still be new to taking the pill as a form of birth control. Just when I think I have it figured out, something new would happen which would make me doubt it's effectiveness.

I am currently using Chateal, which contains 21 active pills and 7 placebo pills. After 6 months of taking it as directed, I assume my body should be used to the side effects. I would get nausea from taking it so I switched to taking it at night. I have been taking it that way for 3 months now.

But I have noticed since first started taking it, I would get severe cramps and backaches during the second week of the pack for a few days. I assumed I was ovulating while on the pill because I noticed my cervical mucus changes throughout the month. My understanding though is the pill is to prevent ovulation thus preventing pregnancy.

Can you ovulate while on the pill? Is my birth control pill type too low of a dose for me? Could it be something else?

Birth Control :: Could Get Pregnant At 55?

I know this is going to sound strange, but I seriously want to know if anyone here has the answer to this question. I am going to be 55 yrs old in March. I have been on birth control pills most my life, but I went to a new doctor (GYN) years ago, and she told me that I didn't need to be on them because there was no possible way I could become pregnant at 53 without medical intervention.

I left her office happy until my sister told me that the doctor is WRONG and that I could get pregnant at 55! I don't have any idea if I have been through menopause, but I've not had any signs if I have. I called the doctors office back and talked to my previous doctor who wouldn't "confirm" if I could or couldn't, but she suggested I take the mini-pill (progesterone only). I am really sick of the pill and wanted to just stop taking it, but don't want to be foolish. Does anyone here know if this is a fact or not that at 55 I wouldn't be able to become pregnant anyway if off of the pill?
