Birth Control :: Pregnant & On Depo-provera
Jan 16, 2014
Okay December 20 was day 1 of my cycle I started my period. December 23 I got my first depo shot/end of period on 22. Didn't have unprotected sex with my fianc for week like instructed by my doctor. Ovulated on January 3rd. On day 28 of cycle. Took first response early detection test two days ago and got a positive! I've been getting positives on all the different brands even faint positives on the day of and day after missed period tests. Is this possible with depo i mean i know it is but has anyone gotten pregnant on depo what are the odds? what are the effects on my child to be? Will it be harmful?

I had my iud removed and I switched to a new birth control the depo shot. I had one period the day I got the shot and it's been a month and two weeks since I got the shot and no period still. Am I not getting it because of the shot? It's a new birth control for me and I read about it but when I had the iud I got my period so i'm just confused and concerned I'm not getting it.

Okay so I was on the depo shot since feb. Of last year (2013). I've been getting it every three months. Well I was suppose to get it on feb. 28 but I decided to stop. I was bleeding lightly before I was suppose to get the shot. After the day I didn't get it my period got heavier and now it hasn't stop. Is it normal or should I be concerned?

Okay so I'm 20 years old and been on depo for 5 years. I'll usually start spotting a bit a couple days before my next shot is due, I think they said that's normal because it's wearing off. Well my next shot isn't due for about 17 days and I bled a little the other day but it stopped right away. Well today I went to use the bathroom and it looked like I was on my period baaaad (ruined my white VS undies too ) so any ideas of why this is or what I should do?

i'm 19 years old, 5 foot 2 inches. before i started the depo shot, i was on the pill and weighed 115 pounds. i started the depo shot around november 2013. since then i gained 50 pounds and now I'm 157 pounds. I also take vyvanse and it helps a little. What I'm asking is how to lose weight fast and keep the fat off. And what other birth control is effective but also doesn't make you gain a lot of weight ( patch, implant, )

I've had two depo shots. I got the first in June 2015, the next in September and I'm due for another one at the end of November. I experienced light bleeding/spotting during months July-Sept. After my second shot in Sept, I began to experience mild/heavy bleeding. It is said that bleeding would most likely stop after 6 months of using depo-provera.Should I wait it out or change birth control method?

I'm on the depo provera injection, and I've felt depressed. It's been a just under a month so far, so will this wear off or will it always be for as long as I'm on the injection?

I was on the Birth control shot for 9 months. I was supposed to go in between Aug 11th-Aug 17th. I Decided not to go because I had every side effect possible. After I got off of it I have been bleeding. It's not the same everyday some days it spotting but most are like a light period. I also get bad cramping on some days. I have experienced nausea, headaches, cramping. It is now September 24th. I have been having these problems for over a month now. Anyone have the same problem? And if so is there any way of knowing when this will go away? Or anything to make it at least more comfy to get by it all?

In 2010, i got on birth control(depo provera) i was on it off and on until april 2012 when i finally decided not to get it anymore. This past month my husband and i decided we wanted to have a baby, so we starting having unprotected sex. Lately i have been having symptoms such as back pains, acne, cravings and cramping for about 2 weeks (like period cramps) i've also be feeling like i want to throw up but i can't. Could i be pregnant ? My period is not due until next week.

Recently am on the first shot of depo, no birth control usage before this.
Ive always had pretty normal periods, lasting 3-5 days and itll go away.
Once i got on depo, i missed my period the first month completely.
The second month(which is now) i got my period, and so far its lasted 3 weeks and in 2 days itll be 4 weeks..
I should note that I do have unprotected sex with my husband, we are not looking to have a child anytime soon.
My period this month was a normal/heavy flow for about 2 weeks. And the last week its just been spotting sort of red and brown blood mixed together. I also should mention that on the first week of having my period this month,(TMI) a HUGE and i mean HUGE about the length of your hand, piece of tissue came out...It looked almost like... a piece of fish fillet. One side was white and the other side was kinda bloody gray dark looking. It was strange I panicked and threw it out.
Ive been repulsive to smells lately especially in food. I haven't gained weight. I have this weird sensation.Almost like a "gross" feeling inside my body. My breasts arent tender. I am wondering if i am pregnant. I took a pregnancy test before my period started this month and it came as negative. Not sure if maybe stress or pregnant?
Does implantation bleeding even last a week plus?

Could I be pregnant?
Right, so I had the implant in my arm for two years, had maybe two/ three periods in that time. Then I had it taken out due to health problems and had consecutive periods after. I had the implant put back in my arm maybe 7 months later then had it for the full three years with only a couple of really pathetic periods. But this time despite being healthy I out on lots of weight. May of this year as it was running out I had a chat with my doctors and they told me to try the injection, depo provera. So I did, but it was horrible, I was horrible. So after another conversation with my doctor they advised to let my system have a break and after I have a couple of months of normal periods find another method, so I let the injection run out in September. I have regular sex and we normally use condoms but as it normally takes your system a long time to recover from the injection I thought no bother, I also haven't had even a tiny period in over a year.
However, now I'm having pregnancy symptoms, extreme fatigue, nausea, mood swings, tender breasts, bloating and I'm complexed.
Naivity, maybe, let me to believe the odds of me getting pregnant were pretty much slim to none, these also could maybe just be symptoms of coming off constant birth control for so long however I don't know.
I don't want to completely scare my boyfriend and tell him I might be if there isn't a chance, so I haven't done a test as its something I'd want to do with him. We have been together three years, have a stable and loving home together, so although it wouldn't be bad if I was, its not ideal right now - however when is it ever?!
I just wanted to know if someone has had a similar experience, or if it's in my mind, or maybe it's a phantom. But I'm wondering if anyone can offer any experiences.
I will obviously do a test if the symptoms preserve but I'm not sure when to do one as obviously I'd need to wait a certain amount of time after the supposed missed period - which isn't there so I'm not sure if I did one now the result would be strong enough to be picked up as its so early. Any advice?

HELLO Everyone, I received the DEPO shot back on 03/16/2015 and never went back for any additional shots since I started spotting enough to sometimes fill 4 tampons a day(I'm sorry if it is tmi)... lol, so anyways I continued bleeding all until January 15,2016. and just last week on the 02/04/2016 I had a confirmed pregnancy home test and a confirmed pregnancy at my PCP's office, I am going to my OBGYN's office on 02/23, so I have no idea how far along I could be or when I started ovulating again. But it has been almost 1 year since my last DEPO shot. I heard it takes anywhere from 10-18 months to get pregnant after your last DEPO shot. I will let you all know how far along I am after my OB appointment that way we will know how long after DEPO I became pregnant. Has anyone else gotten pregnant while continuously spotting/bleeding?

I have taken depo-provera for close to 2 years after my first boy who is now 6 yrs old so I can concentrate on my professional life (stopped over 9 months ago to try to conceive with my boyfriend). I thought it was gonna take longer but I am now 11 weeks pregnant (baby had great heart beat as per first ultrasound) I am worried if there will be any trouble with the pregnancy or the baby after birth. Does anyone know about this subject?

I am 24 and decided after 4 years being on the depo injection, it was time to give my body a break. My last injection was due on the 4th August 2012 which I didnt have. I started bleeding 28th Dec 2012 (around 4 months after my injection was due). The bleeding was the worst I have ever experienced. I was changing about 7 times a day and it last 32 days without a break and constant heavy bleeding. It finally stopped on 31st Jan. I then started bleeding again 42 days later on 14th March 2013 this year and it lasted for 4 days so I am hoping I am back to normal. Are these periods normal and is it likely the depo is out of my system? The whole time I was on the depo I didn't bleed once! I would like to start trying for a baby and hope that now my periods are back I have high chances of doing so.
