Birth Control :: Microgynon 30 Late Pill
Jul 4, 2016
I take Microgynon 30 and have been for 10 months, I've never missed a pill or taken one late until this month. I take it at 8.10am everyday but on 26th June took it at 10.20am instead (2 hours 10 minutes late).
I had condomless sex 3 times in the week before (20th, 21st, 23rd), will I still have been protected?
I then waited seven days to have sex again after I took it late.

I consider myself to still be new to taking the pill as a form of birth control. Just when I think I have it figured out, something new would happen which would make me doubt it's effectiveness.
I am currently using Chateal, which contains 21 active pills and 7 placebo pills. After 6 months of taking it as directed, I assume my body should be used to the side effects. I would get nausea from taking it so I switched to taking it at night. I have been taking it that way for 3 months now.
But I have noticed since first started taking it, I would get severe cramps and backaches during the second week of the pack for a few days. I assumed I was ovulating while on the pill because I noticed my cervical mucus changes throughout the month. My understanding though is the pill is to prevent ovulation thus preventing pregnancy.
Can you ovulate while on the pill? Is my birth control pill type too low of a dose for me? Could it be something else?

I know that I am meant to take the pill at the same time every day. I usually take it at 6:30, but sometimes I am 15 minutes off, sometimes half an hour off. But it is always between 6 and 7. I know that typical use reduces the effectiveness of the pill to 91-92%.
What I would like to know is: is taking the pill within 15 minutes or half an hour of your usual time still perfect use?

I used to be on the pill a while ago and I recently decided to go back on it. I accidently took the sugar pill on my second day of having my period not realising I was meant to start taking the active pills. Can I continue taking the sugar pill or do I start the active pill?

I have been on the combined pill (Gederal) for a couple of years now but my doctor wants to change me to the Mini Pill (Cerelle). My Combined pill is perfect so i don't want to change. I mentioned that i had one migraine with visual disturbance and she explained to me that even one of these migraines is a reason to come off the combined pill. The combined Pill regulated my periods but she explained that this mini pill is now going to make me irregular.

This is my third month on Microgynon 30, and I ran two packets back to back because of a party I was going to, but a few days after I started taking the second pack I had some slight bleeding. I didn't think anything of it because I was told this can happen for a few days. It's a few weeks later now and it's still happening. It's only very light bleeding (it does vary a bit, sometimes there's nothing, but it's never been enough to have to wear a pad). I think I've learnt my lesson that my body just doesn't accept two back-to-back so I probably won't do it again, I just wanted to make sure it was nothing to worry about!
Apart from this everything has worked fine for me on it so I really don't want to swap to another pill!

I started taking Microgynon 30 about half way through my cycle (I think I had finished ovulating when I started, but I'm not completely sure). I was wondering if I would get my period as normal this month, or if the Microgynon would delay it until I finish the pack (like it would if I had started it at the start of my cycle)? If I do have my period as normal, will it be shorter/lighter this month?

I've had a lot of breakthrough bleeding the last few weeks and am looking into changing my pill. However I'm going to a spa weekend this weekend and read online that to help with break through bleeding you can take two pills on one day and then carry on as normal. I have done this and hope to carry on with my normal pack tomorrow however all day I have felt very nauseous and have had a dodgy tummy constantly on the toilet. Is this because of the extra hormones my body isn't taking it very well? I did take them on an empty stomach stupidly as it was early and I didn't really think. Just worried I'm going to be really ill.

I usually get my periods on the 21st of every month and so now I'm a week late. Last month was normal however I got my period again two weeks after. I assume it was because I stopped taking BC. Would this mean that my cycle will begin again starting from the last time I got it? Or should it have been back to my usual timing? I'm just curious and worried .

I have been on the Nuvaring for 4 months now and was supposed to put my Nuvaring in on Tuesday but didn't until today (Wednesday). I can't find any information about when I remove this Nuvaring. Do I remove it on Tuesday in 3 weeks time or Wednesday in 3 weeks time?

I am taking natazia and took the first pill of the back about 12 hours later than normal. In the packaging it says 12 hours is considered late. I had sex 2 days later when i was still spotting on my period. The next day we had sex again. How likely is it that i could be pregnant? This is just a few days ago and will use backup for a week or so after this. Should i be worried?

I'm a 23 year old female with pcos. About 5 months ago I started taking bcp to help regulate my period. I was prescribed level. It worked great until about 3 months when I noticed that my hair started shedding like crazy. I went to my doctor who switched me onto zoely, which is supposed to contain a natural estrogen.she said to go back in 2.5 months and if my hair loss hasn't stopped by then we can discuss other options. I've been on zoely for one month so far and if anything my hair loss has increased. Does anyone have any experience with switching bcp and how long it takes for the hair loss to stop? My hair has thinned quite a bit and I'm scared that continuing taking the pill could make it worse. But also stopping the pill I know can trigger another bout of hair loss too.

I had hormones tested and I am in menopause. I have not had a period in 4 years. Only been off the pill for a month after being on it for a long time. I am told I should still use condoms for birth control, which myself and hubby don't like at all. Chances of getting pregnant may not be likely but can happen. I really prefer to use nothing, but I don't want to end up with a pregnancy at this age. Anyone in their 40's and 50's have gone through this? What was your choice of birth control when the doctor takes you off the pill? Should I not worry about it and use zero protection? Do you think my doctor is being ridiculous?

So in my first week of BC I missed my 6th pill, and my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, he did not pull out. When I remembered I took my missed pill and my pill for that day. I then missed another pill and had unprotected sex, he did not pull out. This was during my normal ovulating time, I was in the bathroom today and wiped to find brown spotting. I'm not sure if I could be pregnant or if the spotting is related to missing the pill.

I have endometriosis and have been on continuous birth control for the past 2 years. In this time I haven't had any bleeding.
However, about a month ago I started spotting, then it turned to bleeding which has required the use of feminine hygiene products every day.
I want to take a break from my birth control and give my body a chance to refresh.. I just want to know - will I remain protected from pregnancy if I take a week off (as I have not at all)?

I use Loette Birth Control Pill, my last tablet was on 20th April and I was expecting my period around 26-27th April like every month. Meanwhile I had sex on 25th April. To be on safer side I took unwanted 72 with 72 hours. After 3 hours of taking tablet I had sex again but did not take any tablet this time. However I have not got my period till today and there are no signs of getting my periods or pregnancy. The Home Pregnancy Test says negative. What should be my next step now. Could I be pregnant? My first anniversary is coming in 2 weeks and I want to be safe around that time.
