View 5 RepliesI just got my period in Jan 9th and I ended it on Jan 19 which is when I got my implanon removed and was sexually active with no protection, I noticed I bled the following morning so would that be normal? Could my body be getting used to not having the implanon on. Should I be concerned?
View 1 RepliesI got the implanon April 1 2016 and I've been bleeding since I'm planning to get it removed Wednesday 4/27/16 will i stop bleeding right away or will it take a couple of weeks?
View 1 RepliesI'm 17 and I've been on birth control for an entire year. I've tried every type of birth control but me and my boyfriend have always used condoms. On September 18, the second day of my period, I had implanon inserted. We still used condoms for two weeks to be safe. We just started having unprotected sex. I've done the research and stuff but I could use some reassurance as to how effective it is. Have any of you been pregnant on it? I'm just a little unsure as to how good it is because I'm 17 and really am NOT ready for a baby. Also my period is expected October 16-ish, I'm not overweight and my rod implant was inserted correctly if this helps.
View 2 RepliesI've been on the implanon for about 2yrs.and 9 months for 6mths I been taking both due to bleeding I missed a couple pills but stayed taking them each month last month I took them for two weeks and had a regular 7 day cycle the next month I came on my period for a day and went off the next day and still haven't came back on and it's been two weeks...confused
View 1 RepliesI have been on Implanon for almost 3 years with no problems at all. It expires in October and I am due to have it changed next week. For the last two weeks or so I have had all of the symptoms I had with all 3 of my pregnancies. Nausea, headaches, cramping, tender breasts, backache, frequent urination, increased vaginal discharge and MAJOR mood swings!! I took a test yesterday and it was negative but I am not yet late so I kind of expected that. My last period began 7/30 but it was light and short. If I am pregnant, will my obgyn be able to tell this is I go to my appt. on 8/28? I obviously do not want to replace it if I could be pregnant! Also I was reading that Implanon may not be as effective in overweight women and I am approximately 70 lbs. overweight. Does anyone know if this is true?
View 1 RepliesI've had my implanon out for two weeks after having it in for 2 yrs and 8 months. I did not have a period the whole time I was on it. Now after 2 weeks I have had a couple days of brown discharge and 1 day of light pink discharge. I have not had sex since having it removed but did have sex about a week prior. Does anyone know how long after removal it takes for flow to return and why I keep getting the discharge?
View 1 RepliesI'm 18 and have 6 weeks left of my implanon before I have to get it changed. I'm fatigue , sore nipples for the past week, sharp pain in the left lower side of abdomen especially when I sit down and have put on a lot of weight and a slight appetite loss. My periods are irregular I could have it for one day then 2 weeks later I'll have it for 8 days and not have a period for weeks. Also get headaches a lot. I heard that you could take pregnancy tests and they come out negative when you are pregnant? I wonder what pregnancy symptoms are on the implanon..
View 1 RepliesI have had the implanon since January 2011.
I recently have been feeling some symptoms that could be considered pregnancy symptoms, such as breast tenderness, cramps and feeling more emotional than usual. These have been going on now for almost 2 weeks.
I was just wondering if it is possible for me to be pregnant? I would normally ask my GP but they always just assume if you have the implant you aren't.
I last had sex 4 weeks ago, would signs of pregnancy show this soon, or am I just worrying over nothing?
I haven't had a period since July last year except one random in June this year, so I can't even use that to tell.
I've been on the Implanon Birth Control for a good 4 months now. I had a weird discharge of old blood a week after it was effective. Since then i haven't had a period at all. It's been months now. Also having stomach pains every night for the past 2 weeks. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
View 1 RepliesI am looking for input as far as the Implanon birth control implant. I have read pages upon pages about this and how it works. However, I'd like to hear a few personal experiences if possible. My insurance covers 100% of the cost, so that is not an issue.
A little about me: I'm going to be 24 in a few short days. My fiance' and I do not have any interest in having children in the next five to eight years. We have a number of long-term goals, and are just not ready for a child any time in the near future.
Thanks in advance!
I've had the implanon for about a year and a half now. When it was first put in, my periods occurred every few months or so and when they did appear, they were very light with mild to moderate cramps. In the past 10 months or so, I find myself on my period for 1-2 months at a time. I experience moderate to severe cramps, headaches, bloating, lower back pain, and restlessness. Typically, I only have about 2 weeks interval until I'm bleeding again. I was just curious as to if anyone else has had the implanon and experienced the same problems. I want to just ride out the year, year and a half until it needs to be taken out but not if I'm going to continuously be miserable.
View 1 RepliesHas anyone heard of the correlation between the birth control implant and severe anxiety and depression? I have had the implant place in Feb, and panic attacks have started with a vengeance, everyday and sometimes multiple times in a day for almost a month. I have read articles that it can cause an increase in anxiety and blood pressure (mine his been unusually high). Does anyone else have experience with this?
View 1 RepliesI had my iud removed and I switched to a new birth control the depo shot. I had one period the day I got the shot and it's been a month and two weeks since I got the shot and no period still. Am I not getting it because of the shot? It's a new birth control for me and I read about it but when I had the iud I got my period so i'm just confused and concerned I'm not getting it.
View 3 RepliesOkay December 20 was day 1 of my cycle I started my period. December 23 I got my first depo shot/end of period on 22. Didn't have unprotected sex with my fianc for week like instructed by my doctor. Ovulated on January 3rd. On day 28 of cycle. Took first response early detection test two days ago and got a positive! I've been getting positives on all the different brands even faint positives on the day of and day after missed period tests. Is this possible with depo i mean i know it is but has anyone gotten pregnant on depo what are the odds? what are the effects on my child to be? Will it be harmful?
View 1 RepliesSo I've been on depo for 9.months now and got my renewal shot and antibiotics for 10 days on the same day, how long should I wait before having unprotected sex? How will they affect each other?
View 2 RepliesAbout a month into my first shot of Depo I began to bleed. After about 10 days of it I went to the doctor and they gave me estrogen pills to take for 10 days. They slowed down the bleeding, but didn't stop it. After I was done with the pills, the bleeding became heavier and I started getting really bad cramps. I went back in yesterday and they gave me Birth control pills to try to regulate it. It's been 2 days, but the bleeding and cramps are still there. it's just really bringing me down. I use to have a really active lifestyle, but all I want to do now is just stay home in bed. I've also lost about 4 lbs since the bleeding started. It has totally killed my sex life as well. My partner wants to have sex and so do I but the bleeding is just too embarrassing that I'd rather just make up some excuse to not do it. I don't know what else to try.
View 1 RepliesOkay so I was on the depo shot since feb. Of last year (2013). I've been getting it every three months. Well I was suppose to get it on feb. 28 but I decided to stop. I was bleeding lightly before I was suppose to get the shot. After the day I didn't get it my period got heavier and now it hasn't stop. Is it normal or should I be concerned?
View 1 RepliesOkay so I'm 20 years old and been on depo for 5 years. I'll usually start spotting a bit a couple days before my next shot is due, I think they said that's normal because it's wearing off. Well my next shot isn't due for about 17 days and I bled a little the other day but it stopped right away. Well today I went to use the bathroom and it looked like I was on my period baaaad (ruined my white VS undies too ) so any ideas of why this is or what I should do?
View 2 Repliesi'm 19 years old, 5 foot 2 inches. before i started the depo shot, i was on the pill and weighed 115 pounds. i started the depo shot around november 2013. since then i gained 50 pounds and now I'm 157 pounds. I also take vyvanse and it helps a little. What I'm asking is how to lose weight fast and keep the fat off. And what other birth control is effective but also doesn't make you gain a lot of weight ( patch, implant, )
View 2 RepliesI had my first Depo shot two weeks ago and for the past week and a half I've been an emotional mess, I cry for no reason, get angry for no reason and feel really weird... is there any solution for this?
