View 1 RepliesI have been having pain in my right breast for about six weeks now. The pain travels between the arm pit and breast, but is mainly a stabbing pain on the top of my right breast. When i just lightly squeeze my nipple it has clear discharge coming from it and can actually decrease the pain in my breast for a short time. I do get a stabbing pain in my left breast now and again but no discharge. Pain in the right breast can last a few hours at a time,or constantly on
certain days. It does feel a bit lumpy but i don't know the difference between a possible cancer lump or normal one. I hope i can get an answer or possibility of what is happening with me. I am 40years old, i had my only child 22years ago, i also had a mammogram and ultrasound and had one lump just outside of my right breast under my armpit taken a sample of, when i was 38 years old but everything was normal. Hope someone can help me.
I am a 16 year old girl who for the most part was healthy prior to the start of my digestive problems. I am 5"3 and have never weighed over 99 lbs but my weight has now dropped to below 94 lbs due to inability to eat without pain and nausea. Around August 2011, I started having moderate-severe nausea and abdominal pain following most/all meals, which over time progressed to be nearly constant pain and nausea that made eating nearly unbearable. Starting in early March, I had multiple blood tests, an ultrasound, a HIDA scan, and an upper endoscopy. The only explanation offered to my mother (a doctor) and myself was that my gallbladder was hyperactive and excreted bile way too quickly, with an ejection fraction of 89%. Normal ejection fractions are considered to be roughly between 30-75%, but high ejection fractions are a gray area in the medical world at the moment, as most bad gallbladders have a low ejection fraction. All the children's surgeons refused to take out my gallbladder for this reason, but with it being our only hope we searched for a surgeon willing to take the chance. We were luckily able to find a surgeon with some knowledge of hyperactive gallbladders who removed my gallbladder in early May. My surgery went well and there were no complications immediately following. I did not have constant diarrhea following my procedure and my pain and nausea were alleviated until approximately early-mid June. I began having moderate nausea and pain again following nearly all foods and some drinks such as slushies or shakes. It increasingly worsened but has not yet reached the constant pain/nausea i was experiencing pre-surgery. I also had approximately 3-5 bouts that lasted about 10-20 minutes of extreme nearly unbearable pain, usually in my left abdomen just below the ribs approximately 20-30 minutes after I had eaten. Each time brought me to the floor and to tears. I visited the GI doctor again July 5 and was told their best explanation was Functional Dyspepsia and that I should begin taking 30g Amitriptyline each night. I was told results should appear approximately 3 weeks after I start regular dosage, which I did on July 5. I have seen some improvement in my pain and nausea as they do not necessarily occur after every single time I eat anymore, but they are still way too frequent and persistent for me to feel normal, much less function normally. Over the past week or so, my stools have been a bright green color and my urine has been clear for the most part. There seems to be no connection between my symptoms and my hormones as they do not worsen or alleviate with my menstrual cycle. I am sick and tired of being so sick and tired as my symptoms have majorly impacted my life and prevented me from participating in many things as they caused me to miss over 40 days of school just since January 2012. Please please please offer any ideas or thoughts you might have, i truly am desperate.

I have had moderate to severe joint pain since April, and was recently diagnosed with Parvovirus B19. Apparently the virus can cause severe Arthralgia that lasts upto 9 months. On good days my pain level is at a 3. On bad days it will go upto a 6/7. Yesterday I stepped on a metal wire and it got stuck in my foot. The urgent care center recommended I get a tetanus shot, since I have not had one in over 10 years. I asked what the side effects were, and they said my arm would be a little sore.
Well, " a little sore" does not quite describe it. My arm was in excruciating pain all night and still really bad today. I can't even lift it more that a couple inches. Also, all my joints on my left side ( side I got the shot) were in excruiating pain 8-9. I just sat in bed and cried last night. I took 3 tylenol arthritis's and an extra Meloxicam that I have for joint pain and it did nothing, My arthritis continues to be really bad today. I called the urgent care and asked if I could come back in to get some medication to work until the pain stops. They said they could not do that, and that the tetanus shot would not aggrivate arthritis.
Let me know if anyone else has experienced worsened arthritis symptoms after a vaccination or shot. I wanted to get the flu shot soon, but I am scared now. Can the Flu shot make me hurt this bad as well? Let me know If I should tell the doctor and ask for additional pain medication. Or if the doctor will just tell me " No".
I have very big problems with arthritis pain. My doctor prescribed me Cataflam. I have started to take it this morning, but I have not noticed that Cataflam actually work for pain. Can you tell me how long does it take for the Cataflam to work for arthritis pain?
View 1 RepliesHas anyone else been diagnosed with this condition? I shall explain! for 10yrs i've been told i had arthritis in my right hip and right hand giving me chronic pain, only to be seen by 5 different doctors due to a recent change in location and investigations i've now been told i have , mild osteoarthritis in my right hip and the joint between my thumb and index finger.
Not only that but all differnet 5 doctors have said it was different things. seeing my own doctor today, she said (or applied) that the pain might be in my head, then to turn round and say that she was certain that i had A chronic medical condition and what it was she was unsure of.
Is this Chronic pain syndrome another name for they havent a clue whats going on?
I've been on Naproxen 500 mg for a week to treat arthritis pain in my hand. I'm also using a brace. Almost seems to hurt more than it did before I went on the meds. Is this normal?
View 2 RepliesAfter MRI my diagnosis was "Lots of mileage left, another 10 years, at least!" (I am 75)! Good to hear but still have to be careful going DOWN stairs! Not too bad going up! Some pain now and again. BUT I sometimes get a strange feeling on upper left thigh, (the worst knee), as if it is wet but when I touch the skin it is totally dry! Happens after I have been standing for a couple of hours. Also, sometimes the skin feels sore, but there is no evidence to show. Has anyone had similar feelings?.
View 1 RepliesI wonder whether anyone else has experienced this sharp pain simultaneously in their elbow and rib. Mine is on the right side and the pain is literally at exactly the same time and in my rib it seems to be directly adjacent from my elbow with my arm down by my side. It started two nights ago. I have been in touch with ra nurses but had to just leave a message, yesterday, but nobody has come back to me yet. It really is an odd pain, but really sharp and stops me in my tracks. It will go on for several minutes, breaking off every few seconds, then will go off for a few hours and then start again. Also my upper abdomen seems really distended, I have no idea whether that is connected in any way.
View 1 RepliesMy symptoms are severe pain in joints and sometimes muscles that always come with high fever, sore throat and weird cough (small but forced cough) a salmon colored rash and weakness in my joints. The pain is so bad that I scream. I am unable to care for myself. I am so stiff for hours. The pain has progressed throughout the year. I am at a loss. I live in Idaho and my rheumatologist is sending me to Salt Lake City Utah because they have a university hospital with more specialist. I swear to her that I have Stills Disease but she sais I have the symptoms but not necessarily all of the blood results to match.
My cbc always shows an infection, I am always slightly anemic but ferritin is good, not low nor high.
Here is my recent lab work. This is how desperate I am

I do not like being on the prednisone because of the side effects but I can not handle the non stop pain when I don't have it. Such a little 5 mg dose saves my life. The pain is so bad that all I can do is pray to pass out. I can not take pain pills because they cause severe depression.
Hi, have been diagnosed with degenerative arthritis 2 years ago and had another CT scan yesterday after experiencing pain for the past 3 days in right lower back and hip
my ct results says:
L1/2: No significant disc protrusion. The central canal and exit foramina appear adequate
L2/3: Minor disc bulge. The central canal and exit foramina appear adequate. Early facet joint degenerative change
L3/4: Mild disc bulge and ligamentum flavum hypertrophy. Minor encroachment on the central canal. The exit foramina appear adequate
L4/5: Disc bulge. Ligamentum flavum hypertrophy. Mild central canal stenosis. Minor encroachment of both exit foramina
L5/S1: Marked disc space narrowing, endplate osteophytes, endplate sclerosis and vacuum phenomenon, consistent with degenerative disc disease. Disc bulge. Mild central canal stenosis. Abutment of the origins of both transiting S1 nerve roots. No overt evidence of nerve root displacement or flattening. Moderate left and mild right exit foraminal stenosis. Abutment of both existing L5 nerve roots. Mild Bilateral facet arthropathy.
Hi Just joined here.
I have RA and I have used different kinds of drugs but still experiencing a lot of pain.
Someone just sent me an email to use epsom salt.
Has anyone here ever tried it? If so, how were the results?
Wow, RA is the gift that keeps on giving! I'm a year in and actually was picking up well compared to last year. The meds appear to be working ok but after a rather stressful two days where I had to work longer hours than planned I'm now in a bit of a state. Last night I peed myself walking back to my hotel - came from nowhere - totally unexpected - suddenly I was peeing... highly embarrassing. And today I've had increasing belching, distended stomach and now quite a bit of pain. I've taken all the pain killers I can and really not sure what to do next. Just wondered if this rang any bells with anyone else - maybe it's nothing to do with it!!
View 4 RepliesMy right knee & on the right side in the soft part feels numb & if I get it against anything or kneel on the floor on my knee it feels like I put my knee on something sharp or it can feel like I put it on a nails & it can really hurt, I can rub my knee I can touch my knee firmly, even smack it & it does not bother it, it only shows these symptoms when I get against something or kneel down on it, its weird but its me so it would be.lol.. I thought maybe a form of neuritis but I don't know, I did nothing to my knee to cause this...Sometimes if I get against something in a certain way I feel the sensation of something rolling inside I want to say like a vein maybe.. If I run my fingers over the spot it feels numb..
View 3 RepliesThis just started happening to me about a week ago. I was having intercourse with my girlfriend when I noticed a slight pain in the back of my skull that ran down a muscle into my neck. It wasn't bad so I figured it was random and would go away. Unfortunately, this pain has come back every time I have had sex since. I am curious if this is something serious or not and it will go away in time?
View 3 RepliesJust a couple of weeks ago when I was masturbating and ejaculated something started to happen and it's been happening every time since. The upper portion of the head of my penis moves upwards more than usual and is a bit painful when it presses against my thumb. I was just wondering why this is happening all of a sudden because it's irritating that I can't enjoy a pleasurable masturbation without having some sort of pain. Now every time I ejaculate I have to move my hand off my penis so it doesn't press against my hand or else the movement of the head against my own hand hurts (when it throbs up and down). This has never occurred before to me. I am 20 years old. Any ideas on what it may be and what my next action should be?
