Anxiety :: Dizzy Before Bowel Movement
Jul 18, 2014
For about 3 months I've been getting spells of dizziness and nausea. Not always before bowel movement but very often. After I have emptied my bowels the dizziness and nausea seems to subside after 10 mins or so.
I was thinking IBS but I can tolerate all kinds of food.
I went to my gp today for the dizziness (along with a few other symptoms) and I'm being checked out for autoimmune disease. Slightly different topic but bloods will be taken on Monday.
What I want to know is, does anyone else have the dizzy/nauseous issue before bowel movement? It's very unnerving when it happens and I've had no answers so far.

A week ago I went to the restroom and was in the process of a BM and got the worst headache starting from my neck to the top of my head. I went straight to ER and cat scan was performed and showed nothing. 3 days later I was having stomach pain went to the restroom didn't make it to have the BM and got the same headache went straight to ER given meds and home. Yesterday morning stomach started hurting went to restroom sat down to have BM and same headache went straight back to ER this time they gave another cat scan and it came back normal and they decided to do a spinal tap all four samples had blood which isn't supposed to. They shipped me to a bigger hospital for a different cat scan nothing showed up some an mri nothing showed up. They discharged me. I am now to the point where I an afraid to have a BM. The doctors never looked at my rectum or my stomach. Please someone tell me I'm not alone and what I can do to prevent these headaches from coming back. I can't hold these bm forever.

I have a protruding bump from my anus when I have a bowel movement. It comes out when I have a BM and then goes back up when I'm done. Sometimes it will stay out for a day or two. There is also occasion minor bleeding from this. There is sometimes shape pain while having BM and sometimes no pain at all. Sometimes I have diarrhea and sometimes it's harder to come out. There generally isn't much pain except when the bump/lump won't go back up. This has been going on for years. I am 33 year old female. What could this be?

So about a year ago i was diagnosed with GERDS... (or acid reflux disease) after suffering for about 9 years, in which i now take tablets for. However, in the past 6 months i have noticed that i am now feeling nauseous after eating, normally about 30 minutes after a meal, am constantly tired, thirsty, feel dizzy when standing up and moving around, get out of breath very easily and sometimes get a sinking feeling in my heart/chest. I also, which i have had for longer than six months, suffer from my stomach bloating out like a balloon when i eat or drink anything however small the portion. I do have a history of IBS in my family, however i do not experience symptoms like stomach pain or irregular bowels like others with IBS therefore it has been seen as being unlikely that it is this.
I had an endoscopy a year ago to confirm my GERDS and nothing else was found apart from having a weak muscle at the top of my stomach. I have recently been back and forth to my GP and have had blood and urine tests all of which have come back normal. I am a normal weight, 19 years old, have a good balanced diet and try to exercise at least two times a week, so am completely confused as to why i have all these symptoms. My doctors have no idea what could be wrong with me so i was wondering if anyone could help? Has anyone had the same symptoms and got a diagnosis, i'm fed up of feeling like this and would just like some answers!!!

I am 17 years old, I think it's some anxiety because I get really paranoid and frustrated a lot, especially at when it comes to my boyfriend (I seem to always have something to be mad at him for and he's really not a bad guy). I get angry all the time and convince myself that I have nobody there for me and no friends, so when one bad thing happens in my life, it seems everything comes out at once and makes me even more upset than I should be, and I end up looking crazy for getting so upset at something so small; when people don't know it's a lot more coming out all at once. My mom won't believe that anything is wrong with me, I tell her I think I have anxiety problems and she's just a typical parent in denial: "You don't have that, you're too young, you don't need to be put on meds.." and so on. It takes me an extra hour to hour and a half from when I lay down to actually fall asleep, and when I wake up in the mornings for school, I feel really heavy and don't want to move; which is typical early in the morning, but it seems to be feeling heavier and heavier as the week goes by. I always feel hungry, but as soon as I open my mouth to take a bite, the hunger turns into nausea and I can't eat. I have to force as much down as possible and I end up not being able to finish a kids meal at restaurants. My bones are always aching and I feel like I have to always crack every part of my body: my neck, my back (which by the way, my lower back has crazy pain which makes it uncomfortable when I'm trying to sleep), my knuckles, my toes, and my elbows are feeling the need to be cracked even after I crack them. My muscles always feel tight, I feel like every muscle had stiffened and turned into a knot that won't go away.. My muscles also feel weaker. I do football cheer leading and before a game about 3 weeks ago, I did a split to stretch my hamstrings and when I leaned down into it, a muscle in my lower butt check/upper thigh popped and felt like I tore it... I didn't but to this day, I can't lift my leg all the way anymore and it hurts when I sit for too long. I don't think I'm pregnant, every time I take a test it's negative, and I'm on birth control, and don't have sex that often anyways. My period comes when it's supposed to, but it's crazy light, it's almost like its not there. This past June, I had to go to urgent care to get an IV because I didn't have enough fluids in my body, so my body starting denying water. During that, I didn't have any of these painful symptoms, except I did experience the hunger without eating a few times. Most days I have to get high to force myself to fall asleep at night or to eat something so I don't starve or loss more weight (I've lost about 20 pounds now) but it seems that getting high isn't working that well anymore. My body is really sensitive, I bruise easily and it takes so much longer to heal than it used to. I've researched this on google and it seems that a lot of women have these symptoms, some don't know what it is, but most have been tested for different things and gone to the doctor.... my mom won't take me. Can someone please help? Tell me what could be wrong? What I can do to fix it? If you need more info or anything let me know

I was wondering if anyone else suffers from dizzy spells? I was sat down in work yesterday (I work in a bank so I stare at a screen all day) and I just couldn't look at the screen for long periods of time it made me feel quite dizzy but when I walked I was okay, was wondering if anyone else also feels like their anxiety never goes away like it feels as though there is something always there, whether it's feeling sick having a panic attack or just a feeling of unease

I've had anxiety for maybe 8 years now and Health Anxiety since last year (probably longer but that's when I was diagnosed). I don't tend to get severe panic attacks anymore in the sense where I can't breathe and in a full state of panic etc, but I do seem to be in a constant anxiety attack. I keep getting a lot of dizziness, sometimes just generally lightheaded, but I also get random bouts of feeling like the floor or chair has been taken from beneath me, almost like I'm falling, but only for a second. I then go into a bit of a panic. Does anyone else get these sensations?

I am not sure what is wrong with me and I don't know where else to turn.
I have clinical depression with high daily levels of stress and anxiety (excluding panic attacks). I do not have any energy or motivation to exercise and am eating a very unhealthy diet which I have tried to correct some many times and have failed.
Every day for nearly a week now, I have been having these dizzy spells when walking down the street, I feel as though I am going to collapse and have to walk slowly, keep stopping and holding onto something for support as well as feeling panicky and having a high temperature at the same time and I am not sure why this is. I am also terrified of dying and keep thinking that I will end up being buried alive or something, I cannot get my head around that I am going to die one day, the thought of it terrifies me so much.
I also feel under a lot of pressure from work and from my Access course and trying to decide on what career path to choose and putting a lot of pressure on myself.
I have asthma and get out of breath a lot and also have mild tinnitus (ringing of the ears).

I was diagnosed with IBS about a year ago now and am taking Colofac MR and loperamide which to begin with seemed to work but I would still have the odd bout of uncontrollable stomach cramps and on a couple of occasions I had accidents on my way to work on the bus, it was awful, the worst experience of my life. I wasn't very happy at work at the time so put it down to that as the reason for the flare up. I changed job within the company and it eased off again. Unfortunately my new job hasn't worked out how I had hoped and I'm under even more pressure than previously, that and im having troubles at home with my teenage daughters behaviour and having to take her to the police for the things she has done. I have sudden periods of dizziness to the point I feel like I will pass out and uncontrollable urges to cry, this can happen at any time and is horrendous because I don't know the trigger or how to stop it. I went back to the doctor 2 weeks ago who signed me off work for 2 weeks and put me in touch with Italk and discussed CBT and the possibility of antidepressants. I go back to see her tomorrow, I wanted to avoid antidepressants but I'm now at the stage that I feel nervous doing the things I have always enjoyed, like going out with my best friend and my driving lessons. I really enjoy my driving lessons and have booked my test as this is my key to changing career and being happier in life but just lately I have been confined to the toilet prior to lessons which I have never experienced before. Im really scared that it will cause me to to fail my test but if I go on antidepressants I'm worried that the side effects may also cause me to be unable to drive. I'm stuck in a vicious circle and wondered if anyone else had been in the same situation as me?

I am 22 years old. Five years ago, when I had to go through our national examinations to go to University, a problem appeared. I started farting at an unusual rate. I thought it was anxiety, so I did not visit a doctor asap. Instead, I waited for my examination period to end before I get an expert's opinion. I was then given some pills. "Ibutin" and "Silicates" are the ones I remember after all those years. I think I've taken other medication as well, but unfortunately I don't remember their names. Nothing helped. In addition, when the air does not find a way out from "the bottom side", it goes up and gets out from the mouth (aka burping). Over the years I've managed to somehow control it, but it still is painful. Most doctors say it's actually Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which is magnified by anxiety.Or anxiety which CAUSED the IBS.

I have had IBS for 20 years, and have been treating it with fiber therapy pretty successfully. In the last few months, i've had some odd bowel movements. the first one i noticed was long and thin and tough, like an elastic. i thought tapeworm, but my stool tested negative for worms. i can't explain it, but after wiping and checking it flings itself off the toilet paper a fair distance. I'm afraid to ask my doctor because he scoffed at me when i told him that i thought i had worms. i had a colonoscopy for my 50th birthday in august and everything checked out. Any idea as to what's happening?

Recently when I find it difficult to begin certain letters, such as 'a', 'v', 'r' and 'd', when I am writing. I am studying Physics, and so write a lot of maths. I have never previously had any trouble writing letters, and consider myself to have neat handwriting. I have tried different pens, pencils e.t.c, and worry this might have some link with Parkinson’s disease, which runs in my Dad's side of the family. I am a male aged 18.
