Waking up at 4am most mornings with really bad bouts of anxiety & gasping for air, can these symptoms be fatal, please give advice as it really is worrying me &;making my anxiety worse ?
View 1 RepliesI have PTSD and have been struggling lately. My Dr prescribed me Sertraline about 7 weeks ago. I started on 25mg and have increased to 50mg.
Initially I had a few wobbles but persevered and feel so much better generally. The problem is that I feel pretty good then will suddenly drop and feel anxious for a couple of days. I feel shaky and as if I'm having internal tremors. I felt like this before the tablets too.
Another problem is that I'm already only a UK size 6. I have bowel disease and struggle to maintain a healthy weight. Now I've dropped half a stone again so only weigh 8 stone and I'm 5 foot 7.
The last 2 days I've felt 'nervy' again.
Ok ladies I just woke up from a nap, and i couldn't breath i was gasping for air for almost a good minuet.. It's happened ever since my little girl started getting bigger, so I'm sure it's normal. But does anyone else deal with this?
View 1 RepliesFor the first time in my life, it happened to me last night to go to sleep and to almost not fall asleep AT ALL during the night , and without any real reason to me . I didn't feel tired at all last night, but now I feel absolutely horrible. I tried to take a nap now, but no use, I didn't sleep a single wink.
I was watching TV last night and a movie before bed , which wasn't very intense , but I could have broken my "drowsiness" with it, as my brain was active and I wasn't sleepy at all when I went to bed and didn't feel the need to sleep at all. So after tossing and turning for a couple of hours without falling asleep, I went to the bathroom , to change the air a bit and after returning to bed, after some time, I seem to have felt asleep but only for a couple of minutes (I didn't even remember when I felt asleep), but after that ended I felt totally refreshed, as if I slept the whole day. Later, I had a similar episode, I was asleep for about 25 minutes, and also felt totally refreshed when I "woke up". Now I am dizzy, but not sleepy.
I just googled the symptoms a bit and I found something called sporadic fatal insomnia . I know it is rare and all.........but my symptoms fit that. Nobody in my family, as far as I am aware, has died of anything similar to FFI, but sporadic variant can strike anyone.
Am I going to die from this? I saw a case study of the first case, where a man, at one point couldn't even get 1 hour of sleep and lost it completely. I am so totally freaked out as I also didn't get even 1 hour of sleep last night.
I went to see my GP this week because over the last couple of weeks I was getting bouts of dizziness while resting (I can describe them as a swaying sensation) which comes and goes. I also have frontal headaches with this, the sort that you get when you are subject to bright light. I have been prescribed some tablets which I have to take 3 times a day so I hope that these tablets will clear the problem. I am also going to the opticians on thursday just to double check it's nothing to do with vision problems. I have scared myself today as I have googled frontal headaches and it comes up with brain tumour.
View 3 RepliesDiagnosed with MS almost 2 years ago. Been on Tecfidera for over a year. I'm having such a bout with fatigue that I just want to go to bed and not wake up. EVER. I feel a ton worse now then I did when I was diagnosed ( which happened quickly at an ER visit and then confirmed 3 weeks later).
I am not depressed, never have been and have always had a positive attitude about my disease. I do not feel sad, I am simply....T.I.R.E.D!
I had a brain MRI and lab work and everything is unchanged. While I am happy to hear this, I wonder how I can feel so crappy yet not be in a relapse. Every symptom I've ever gotten has NEVER left, I mean seriously never.
Is this really all there is in my life? Going through each day staggering around like a drunk, stiff, uncoordinated, blurry vision, feeling confused, and not being able to keep my eyes open? Elderly people pass me by when I am walking. WTH?
I am taking Ritalin for my fatigue and it was helping for a few weeks, but now I don't know why I even take it. On Christmas Day I hosted a dinner for friends. I rested as much as I could throughout the day. I curled my hair, which is just past my shoulders - it didn't take long to do, but I had to take a nap after that before I could start cooking. Really? Who needs a nap after curling their hair?
I was diagnosed 2 years ago . After complaining of left sided pain .
Since then I am having pain left sided going over to the pubic bone area . Does anyone else have this ??
I admit I am also have lots of cramping and bouts of diarrhea and constipation but keeping pain under control with paracetamol only .
I was diagnosed with secondary parkinson's disease in 2012. We thought this was a temporary side effect to a medication. The height of my symptoms were tempered once the doctors saw the correlation between the medications and the symptoms, which once the medications were discontinued and I was prescribed amantadine. I have a wide range of systemic medical problems caused by autoimmune disorders. my neurologist has me on medications, and for the most part the symptoms are controllable. but i am starting to have bouts of rigidity in my arms and times when my perception is spacey again. does anyone have any knowledge of this sort of thing? my doctors keep throwing the issues into the other's court-neurologist says talk to the rheumy, rheumy to the neurologist.
View 2 RepliesPrescribed Trimethoprim for a UTI but after a few days started having difficulty walking, bouts of Vertigo, severe pain in fingers of right hand and thumb on left hand. Very severe pains in left foot just forward of the heel for five days. Swelling of both feet and ankles. Very severe itching around my belt line. The vertigo attacks were very bad and frightening when they occurred. I stopped taking the tablets after taking the first of a second lot. I have had a note added to my medical records informing I have never to be prescribed Trimethoprim ever again.

Been sick for over 20 years with various and sundry health issues, i.e, Lyme, Epstein-Barr, adrenal fatigue, MTHFR, etc. to name a few, but the last year or so I'm feeling sooooo much worse. Never had PMS, and now I get cramps a few days before the witch shows up. When she does show up, before when she would show up, she would last 5 or so days. Now she hits hard and fast, heavy for a days or so and then stops on day 2 or 3. Digestion has been horrible. I have so much gas and bloating in my upper stomach that I could power a small city and it's very uncomfortable. Total carb and sugar intolerance. My doc thinks it could be a bacterial infection called SIBO, but after reading everyone's symptoms here, it makes me wonder if it is Peri related. The worst anxiety and panic attacks of my life that hit out of nowhere, even when I am not worrying about stuff. Heart palps galore and according to numerous docs and tests, my heart is fine. Reflux. Overweight and can't lose weight. Emotional instability of a newborn. My mom died a few months ago and while I know grief can be at play, I can cry just watching a commercial. Dizziness, bouts of vertigo, vision getting worse, hair loss more than usual, chapped lips and back of hands, 0 and I mean ZERO sex drive. I almost feel repulsed by the idea. Luckily I have an incredibly understanding husband. Muscle and joint pain. Zero motivation to do anything. I am an incredibly creative person and have lost all my passions in and for life. Bone crushing fatigue. Sometimes wake up feeling like I'm trembling inside. Frequent waking up in the middle of the night.
These are the primary symptoms, though there are others. It's hard for me to tell which of these are Peri related and which are due to the other issues. I had a bunch of labs done in May and all my hormones were normal, including extensive thyroid testing. Can you be Peri and have normal labs? Very confused and ******. This crap is ruining my life. I can't even drive anymore due to the anxiety and dizziness and thus feel trapped in my house. I need to get this fixed as soon as possible. My doc thinks I am Peri and says we will work on it, but is trying to detox some of my other issues first.
i have upper right abdominal pain, lower back pain, bouts of watery diarrhea 3-4 times a day, and am constantly wiped out and exhausted. all tests have come back normal( ultrasound,blood,mono)i'm still being examined, but wondered if you had any ideas?
last year i suffered with lymes*(most likely but not definite)or a super virus and was pretty much a potato for a month, but the new pain has been going on for over 3 months.
About 3 and half weeks ago (24 days to be exact) I ingested 100 mg of a drug called Molly, which is a form of Ecstasy. This was done simultaneously with lots of alcohol (all beer). I am typically not a drug user, trying marijuana only a couple of times, but I had consumed alcohol fairly often (pretty much every weekend, not during weeks), before that. I was with 10 other people in a safe setting who all did the drug (most of which took a higher dose).
In the days after the night that I consumed the drug, I felt extremely lightheaded, nauseous, couldn't sleep, heart was racing, and I was very worried that I had done permanent damage to myself or my brain. As the weeks have gone by, the nauseousness and insomnia have gone away, but I still am feeling lightheaded and dizzy. Everyone that I was with felt completely back to normal after a day or two, and it seems I am the only one who feels this way. It is better than it was the week after, but by no means do I feel normal. I am now extremely worried and having extreme anxiety that I will feel like this forever and that I have permanently messed myself up.
Does anyone know what could be wrong with me? I just want to feel normal again. I have been to two doctors, each of whom has taken a blood test from me, and they told me that the blood tests came back normal. They both told me that the lightheadedness and dizziness would both subside, and that I needed to stop worrying about it, but it has now been almost 4 weeks and I am still feeling the same way.
I am just really scared that I have messed up and ruined my life by taking that one drug one time.
PS; I am fully aware what a mistake it was to take the drug in the first place. I understand that whatever I am feeling I deserve, and I will never come close to doing any hard drug ever again.
Hi. I just wondered if what I'm experiencing is normal. For the past 2-3 months I've had constant anxiety symptoms. I'm not just talking anxious thoughts (although I have those all the time), I'm talking physical symptoms. All day long, I have a horrible tightness in my chest, butterflies in my stomach, dry mouth, internal shaking in my legs and adrenaline rushes up and down my body. I can't control the symptoms, no matter how hard I try. When it first hit, it was different. I had constant nausea & a general feeling of not being able to cope. But I could switch out of it sometimes and feel normal. Now I can never switch out of it. It's there all the time, although the nausea has stopped. I even have it in my sleep because I've actually felt it in my dreams and when I wake up, it's still there. (Not that I can sleep much in this state. 5 hours is the most I ever have.) I'm on Citalopram but if anything, it's made my anxiety worse. The leg symptoms weren't there before I went on the drug and nor was the chest tightness.
View 20 RepliesI've had some really strange physical symptoms. I feel a lot of pressure around my heart. I feel pain in my heart area and fear that it will stop beating. I've had my heart checked out and they found nothing. I constantly fear they missed something. Also feel like my heart twitches at times. But I think it's my chest muscles that twitch. It's really hard to explain. Anyone else feel this?
View 14 RepliesDoes anyone deal with insomnia induced by your anxiety? I have horrible insomnia (can't fall asleep and can't stay asleep). I know anxiety and insomnia go hand in hand, but I'm not certain if my insomnia is a direct result of my anxiety.
What ways do you deal with this? I was recently prescribed sleeping pills by my doctor, but those are even hit or miss as far as helping me sleep. Does anyone have any tried and true remedies that they use or have found to be helpful?
Iif anyone has got this it is only mild acne and do u know any good treatments I've tried antibiotic but they don't work

View 10 RepliesI am 15 and about to start a new part of my life in 10th grade. When I was younger I went to a small school in a very popular area of South Australia. I had one friend in particular that I have been friends with for over 9 years now. He and I were like 2 peas in a pod for most of our primary days but he moved to a different school then I did after we graduated. Now that I have reached year 10 at a high school college I feel as if I only have 3 more years to live my life easily before I have to get a part time job and go to university. I mainly have anxiety because I recently went on a family holiday with him and we recalled all the things we did when we were younger and one of the most treasured was playing a certain video game with him. We then played this video game once again and so many memories just rushed back to me the more I played. Now all I can think about before I sleep or when I am bored is the anxiety of no re-living these moments that I have clinged onto for so long. I just want to lose my anxiety, has anyone got any ideas or are in the same circumstance as I am?

View 2 RepliesFor sometime now I am diagnosed with anxiety. I get some medications and was advised for group therapy. Problem is that I do not feel better at all. I am still "trembling" every time I had to do some things or to go somewhere. Friend of mine told me that Paxil helped her with hers problems. I have no knowledge of hers diagnose, but I wonder, could Paxil be used for my anxiety?
