I keep getting panicky and feeling very unreal, and also my outer 2 fingers on each hand get really tingly and can't feel them so well, and I think my heart is racing and about to just stop. even though I know these are irrational fears how can I go about dealing with them? also should i get my heart checked out by the doctor just to put my mind at ease?

I have clinical depression with high daily levels of stress and anxiety (excluding panic attacks). I do not have any energy or motivation to exercise and am eating a very unhealthy diet which I have tried to correct some many times and have failed.
Every day for nearly a week now, I have been having these dizzy spells when walking down the street, I feel as though I am going to collapse and have to walk slowly, keep stopping and holding onto something for support as well as feeling panicky and having a high temperature at the same time and I am not sure why this is. I am also terrified of dying and keep thinking that I will end up being buried alive or something, I cannot get my head around that I am going to die one day, the thought of it terrifies me so much.
I also feel under a lot of pressure from work and from my Access course and trying to decide on what career path to choose and putting a lot of pressure on myself.
I have asthma and get out of breath a lot and also have mild tinnitus (ringing of the ears).
I am after some reassurance (aren't we all!) For the last 24hrs I have been suffering with numbness in my left arm/hand and leg, aching, tingly and cold hand. I also get a weird sensation of like bubbles popping in my leg (best way I can describe it) -anyone else had this? I suffer with anxiety but it seems to of gone up another level recently, more to do with my health. I went to the doctors about it today and he checked me over, said he was not worried about it being anything serious and that 'some people get it'. I said what about anxiety and he said that could be a possibility- and that was it! I came away feeling no more the wiser and frustrated that my anxiety does not seem to be being picked up on as I have mentioned it a couple of times previously. It seems to be one thing after another at the mo and i am really struggling with the way my anxiety is taking over me - I hate it and I do not want to be like this. Does anyone have any recommendations of books, Youtube, on anxiety?

View 4 RepliesIv started citalopram yesterday 20mg but the dr only told me to start with half to start with. I am 22. Never been on any tablets like this before so I am really scared. I constantly feel dizzy like I'm going to die and pass out and sick and feel like someone is standing on my head. Does anyone know when the side effects will go? And are these tablets any good? When you start seeing results? I know the dr told me to only start taking half but I already feel panicky and dizzy.
View 50 RepliesIt all started when I had a 'funny turn' at work back in November 2013. I'll never forget that day as I haven't felt the same since. I thought I was having a panic attack as I just felt wrong. Strange not really here sort of panicky feeling so I went home and went to bed. I woke up to an even worse fuzzy vision panic feeling and had to lie on the floor while calling nhs emergency number as I didn't have a clue what was happening to me. I calmed down eventually and made my first visit to the doctors who said it was a panic attack and prescribed diazepam. At the time I didn't want to take medication as I felt so unusual. I knew something wasn't quite right. I continued feeling extremely anxious panicky and off balance for weeks on end along with continuous tearful visits to the doctors explaining that my vision was disturbed and my eyes were flickering along with pressure inside my ears. Eventually after about 8 weeks of hell I got an appointment with a balance clinic who did testing and confirmed right ear damage and confirmed vestibular neuritis. I am just posting to see if anyone has experienced the same symptoms as me as when I read posts about VN it seems that I can never find the same symptoms as mine which scares me to death ) : here goes: - I can't think straight, avoid people because I feel I can't hold a conversation because I'm sort of panicky and don't feel like the old me, I have moments of real panic that come out of the blue because I just don't feel right, very small things stress me out like even just someone at the door! I know it sounds silly but I'm just a panicked mess having to put on a front to everyone. The worse symptom at the minute which has gone on for a long while is a pressure in my chest/back that doesn't go. I've read somewhere it's muscle strain due to my balance but I just don't know what to believe anymore. My thoughts are just different since I've had this, I don't know where my old personality has gone. It's like I'm hyper aware that I'm not right. Anyone's advice would be much appreciated, I've had this since November 2013 and I am doing gaze stability exercises 5 times a day. I'm having good and bad times but generally feel a nervous wreck. It's so draining. Alcohol doesn't even relax me anymore, it just makes me more lightheaded and panicky. Sorry for such a long moany post but no one can understand why I have been so weird for months.

View 2 RepliesI frequently wake up with an arm asleep because I tend to fall asleep on my arms with my elbows bent. This always goes away quickly.
This afternoon, about 3 hours ago, my right hand started feeling like it is asleep. It's mostly the last 2 fingers and the palm/back of the hand below them so the ulnar nerve but the index finger also has the same pins and needles feeling. I was not asleep at the time; I think I was petting the dog.
It has full ROM and the strength seems fine. I have no stroke symptoms (aside from this of course but I'm pretty certain it's not a stroke). Both of my hands are equally cold. I haven't done anything that would cause an overuse injury. I have no other symptoms of anything I don't normally have.
I'm not diabetic and have no conditions that would explain this.
I do have a large port wine stain birthmark on this hand although it is mostly on the thumb, index and middle fingers which are the less affected area. This shouldn't cause nerve issues anyway.
Nothing seems to be helping it. It is annoying rather than a big deal. If it continues I'll go to the dr Monday. But I just wondered if anyone has any ideas? I had something a little similar 15 years ago when I was typing my master's thesis but I'm not on the computer anything like that now.
So for a few days on and off my left index finger has been tingly. It's just the tip of my finger and it is on and off. I work as a server and use my hands a lot. I've been wondering if it's just a burn. It feels like there is a string around the first joint of my finger. Not to tight but just annoying. I can still move it and feel things so it's not completely numb just a little tingly. Thanks for any help you can give
View 1 Repliesim a 25 year old male and for nearly a year now I've had itchy tingly genitals ranging from the tip of my penis, foreskin, penis shaft, scrotum, perineum, anus, down my urethra and deep inside my anus. I've been treated for fungal infection which didn't do anything and now my doctor is treating me for prostration. vie checked the symptoms of this condition on the internet and itchy tingly genitals isn't a listed symptom. my symptoms seem to match those of genital herpes - only thing is I've never had any kind of rash at all! these symptoms first started when i had a cold sore on my nose and think i may have somehow spread it to my genitals. am i just being very paranoid? I've been on sites which says that herpes doesn't always produce outward signs - should i be asking my doctor to treat me for herpes instead?
View 1 RepliesI am 34 year old NZ mum and I had CES about 3 years ago, after 3 operations and lots of physio and exercise I returned back to work, bit by bit, slowly working my way up to full time over the period of 8 months. I actually feel pretty fortunate and feel that Iv made a pretty amazing recovery, I got the mobility of my right leg back (it was dragging) although this is still very numb and weak, it appears normal to those around me, and I no longer walk funny, and my bladder only seems to play badly up certain times of the month (by play up I mean weakness and high frequency) the pain is pretty good too....compared to what it use to be like. The night before my first urgent operation I had hot cold sensations filling my legs,it felt like they were being dipped in warm or cold water, it was one of the strangest things I have ever felt, I hadn't realised that going to the bathroom every few min was a warning sign (I actually thought I must of been pregnant). Anyway recently I'm getting cold patches (large patches) and weird almost pleasant cold tingling around the butt and the back of the legs and wondered if anyone else gets similar sensations?, I hate rushing back to the docs and don't want to live in fear that the CES will raise its ugly head again, I also want to avoid too many more MRIs as I have already been exposed to far to much radiation from these. Was really just hoping that another CES patient could tell me their ongoing symptoms and issues that they have just managed to live with.
View 2 RepliesAbout 3 and half weeks ago (24 days to be exact) I ingested 100 mg of a drug called Molly, which is a form of Ecstasy. This was done simultaneously with lots of alcohol (all beer). I am typically not a drug user, trying marijuana only a couple of times, but I had consumed alcohol fairly often (pretty much every weekend, not during weeks), before that. I was with 10 other people in a safe setting who all did the drug (most of which took a higher dose).
In the days after the night that I consumed the drug, I felt extremely lightheaded, nauseous, couldn't sleep, heart was racing, and I was very worried that I had done permanent damage to myself or my brain. As the weeks have gone by, the nauseousness and insomnia have gone away, but I still am feeling lightheaded and dizzy. Everyone that I was with felt completely back to normal after a day or two, and it seems I am the only one who feels this way. It is better than it was the week after, but by no means do I feel normal. I am now extremely worried and having extreme anxiety that I will feel like this forever and that I have permanently messed myself up.
Does anyone know what could be wrong with me? I just want to feel normal again. I have been to two doctors, each of whom has taken a blood test from me, and they told me that the blood tests came back normal. They both told me that the lightheadedness and dizziness would both subside, and that I needed to stop worrying about it, but it has now been almost 4 weeks and I am still feeling the same way.
I am just really scared that I have messed up and ruined my life by taking that one drug one time.
PS; I am fully aware what a mistake it was to take the drug in the first place. I understand that whatever I am feeling I deserve, and I will never come close to doing any hard drug ever again.
Hi. I just wondered if what I'm experiencing is normal. For the past 2-3 months I've had constant anxiety symptoms. I'm not just talking anxious thoughts (although I have those all the time), I'm talking physical symptoms. All day long, I have a horrible tightness in my chest, butterflies in my stomach, dry mouth, internal shaking in my legs and adrenaline rushes up and down my body. I can't control the symptoms, no matter how hard I try. When it first hit, it was different. I had constant nausea & a general feeling of not being able to cope. But I could switch out of it sometimes and feel normal. Now I can never switch out of it. It's there all the time, although the nausea has stopped. I even have it in my sleep because I've actually felt it in my dreams and when I wake up, it's still there. (Not that I can sleep much in this state. 5 hours is the most I ever have.) I'm on Citalopram but if anything, it's made my anxiety worse. The leg symptoms weren't there before I went on the drug and nor was the chest tightness.
View 20 RepliesI've had some really strange physical symptoms. I feel a lot of pressure around my heart. I feel pain in my heart area and fear that it will stop beating. I've had my heart checked out and they found nothing. I constantly fear they missed something. Also feel like my heart twitches at times. But I think it's my chest muscles that twitch. It's really hard to explain. Anyone else feel this?
View 14 RepliesDoes anyone deal with insomnia induced by your anxiety? I have horrible insomnia (can't fall asleep and can't stay asleep). I know anxiety and insomnia go hand in hand, but I'm not certain if my insomnia is a direct result of my anxiety.
What ways do you deal with this? I was recently prescribed sleeping pills by my doctor, but those are even hit or miss as far as helping me sleep. Does anyone have any tried and true remedies that they use or have found to be helpful?

View 10 RepliesI am 15 and about to start a new part of my life in 10th grade. When I was younger I went to a small school in a very popular area of South Australia. I had one friend in particular that I have been friends with for over 9 years now. He and I were like 2 peas in a pod for most of our primary days but he moved to a different school then I did after we graduated. Now that I have reached year 10 at a high school college I feel as if I only have 3 more years to live my life easily before I have to get a part time job and go to university. I mainly have anxiety because I recently went on a family holiday with him and we recalled all the things we did when we were younger and one of the most treasured was playing a certain video game with him. We then played this video game once again and so many memories just rushed back to me the more I played. Now all I can think about before I sleep or when I am bored is the anxiety of no re-living these moments that I have clinged onto for so long. I just want to lose my anxiety, has anyone got any ideas or are in the same circumstance as I am?
