Amitriptylin 50mg And Cataflam 50mg 2x Daily For Back And Leg Pain?
Aug 7, 2007
I have back and leg pain and my doctor prescribed me Amitriptylin 50mg and Cataflam 50mg two times daily. My sister told me that Amitriptyline is used for depression treatment. I mean, Amitriptyline is antidepressant. So, my doctor must be wrong, right? I have not depression! Should I change my doctor?

Hi everyone, I has been take Enbrel (Etanercept) 50mg for few years.
I've got many boxes with 25mg now.
The medicine manual prescribes the only way - to take 25mg every three days (instead of once a week with 50mg)
I think there will be twice more holes in my belly I don't want it.
So does anybody knows can I combine two doses 25mg into one 50mg?

I'm 35 years old and have been on citalopram (10 to 25mg) for about 13 years. It has helped me in general but never stopped my panic attacks completely. When I had a bad time I had to increase my tablets which always made me feel worse before better. What I find is that I feel emotionally numb. I don't get excited about things like for ex going on holiday. Instead I see it as a hurdle like I have to spend hrs on a plane which I really dislike, what if people are going to be loud, moving my seat... And what if I feel totally awful whilst I'm there... That kind of thing. I start shaking, freaking out, vomiting, can't eat, function, terrified.... I saw a doctor a while back who said that she didn't think this medication was working for me anymore and that it could be normal as I've been on them for so long. It is now affecting my relationship as my other half always says I'm not happy or if I am I'm not showing it. Anyway, I decided to see my GP yesterday who told me to try sertraline. However, i have been on 25mg of citalopram for the last 5 months and have not had any severe panic/anxiety attacks but I can tell that it's still there waiting to erupt. Now, I am petrified to change my med!! What if I'm gonna feel worse or awful like I did last year! anyone here changed cit for sertraline after a long time? Am I gonna get withdrawal symptoms from cit before I get used to sertraline?? If you have been through it I would be very grateful if you could tell me how it went... I just want to be happy and live life to the fullest. I feel I haven't been able to in the last 15 years. I'm supposed to take my last citalopram tonight and go straight to sertraline tomorrow.

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in September by my family physician he put me on PTU 50mg 3xs a day in early November. I went and saw endocrinologist on Christmas eve says my white blood cells are low i was wondering could this be a result of the meds. He took me off PTU and placed me on methimazole 10mg twice a day, please help because it seems the more questions i ask my endocrinologist the more upset he becomes him and my family dr.

I'm currently a student and got valium off the internet to help me get to sleep. Because in halls as it's ridiculously loud, I ended up taking 50mg a night about 5 days a week..
Been doing this for the past 2 months and I've been reading stuff online about coming off it and it's frightened so much!
Should I just go cold turkey, how bad will it be and how long will it last? I really have the urge to go the doctors ASAP as I'm worried for my health but will this also go down on my health record and will it jeopardise being employed in the future if they ask to view my medical records? I can't believe I've gotten myself in this situation I feel so stupid and ashamed.

I remember I read somewhere that it was not the same to take a 50mg pill than half a 100mg pill.
The thing here is that I usually take a 50mg pill before having sex, I'm used to that dosis, however last time I went to the drugstore I accidentally bought 100mg pills, I am not willing to take one of those since it's the double of what I usually take (and 50mg works fine with me) but I am not sure is by taking half of those pills it would equal a 50 mg one.

I have been on Sertraline 50mg for 6 weeks, I saw my therapist and she asked how I felt, I told her I did not feel any different, she contacted my Dr. and the Dr. upped my dose to 200mg, this has frightened me, a leap from 50mg to 200mg, has anyone had this outcome, and what were the pro's and con's of this sudden higher dose.

My daughter has very big problem. She is 23 years old and she has Endometriosis. This is very painful for her, but her gynecologist told her that is early stadium and that this problem is not yet in faze for surgery. He told her to take Aspirin and Ibuprofen if she has big pains. She has terrible pains since yesterday and I am wondering should she, maybe, take Cataflam.

Is cataflam effective in treatment of acute pain? Can I take it to relieve toothache? What dose is recommended in toothache? I used to take it to relieve headache, but I'm not sure if it would be effective in treatment of more intensive pain caused by tooth inflammation.

About 2 week's ago I took 2 perc within a night and the next day I got sick, I thought from the pills, but than I was nauseous and have been for the most part ever since. My left side mid to lower back started hurting approx a week ago and it's gotten much worse last night and now I'm having pain in my upper right abdomen as if the pain moved. I'm on muscle relaxers for my back already but it's not affecting/helping my new pain though and the new pain doesn't feel the same. I was just curious if anyone had any idea what it might be, some say kidneys but does that pain or can it move from my back to my abdomen?

I'm 18 and i was diagnosed with scoliosis at a young age. I wore a brace to correct the curvature for about 2-3 years. The brace would put pressure on my hips and after some time I would have pain in my lower back, down my buttocks, down the back of
the leg and into the toes. It's sharp and searing and sometimes there's tingling and numbness. Could this be sciatica caused by the brace? Is it possible that it pinched the nerves and caused permanent damage? All I know is that it is extremely painful and hard to get to go away..

Two days ago I was in the gym exercising my shoulders and whilst I was lifting weights, I moved my back whilst seated and I heard a 'click' sound in my back, followed by pain in that area of my lower middle back. I immediately stopped exercising and haven't gone to the gym since.
I don't know what I was thinking by moving my back like that, but since it happened there is a lot less pain and it feels like the pain may be totally gone in the next 48-72 hours hopefully.
On the night of the injury I found it hard to turn onto my side when in bed, but now I can do it without any problems. Now I can only feel some pain when I turn my upper body to the left or right or if I try to stretch my lower back.
Would anyone be able to give me some advice such as what type of injury I have or whether this may have a long term effect? Is it a very positive sign that the pain is decreasing each day?

How long after an ovarian cyst rupture does it take to lose the extra weight and bloating? And is it normal to continue having extreme pain for weeks after?
I am assuming the rupture occurred a little over 2 weeks ago because that is when I started bleeding (2 days after my period stopped) and having severe pain in my abdomen. I bled for 2 more weeks and continued having daily pain and horrendous abdominal bloating. Went to the ER 2 days ago because the pain was agonizing and they told me I had fluid in my abdomen from a ruptured ovarian cyst. I have gained 10 pounds since this started, all while eating way less than normal because it hurts to eat too much. It feels like I have a basketball in my stomach. According to the doctors the pain should have gone away after a couple days of rupturing but it's still there after more than 2 weeks and I'm still bloated and gained 2 more pounds in just the last 2 days. How long until I start feeling some relief and get my weight back under control?
