Alternative Therapies :: MRI Diagnosed A Bone Bruise

Nov 3, 2014

I hit my inner ankle bone against the bed post 3+ months ago and the MRI diagnosed a bone bruise. I have consulted podiatrists and orthopedic doctors and their advice for treatment is conflicting, but generally of the conclusion that there is no treatment, nor any idea how long it will take to heal. I am still limping and in strong pain all day long every day. One doc says to stay off the foot. One says to exercise mildly. One says to do PT exercises. One says to immobilize in a pneumatic walking boot, one says to use an ankle brace. all have been unsuccessful. Has anyone recovered from a bone bruise? If so, did you use alternative medicine like Chinese herb soaks?

Alternative Therapies :: The Device Reads Energy And Vibrations

I went today to a doctors appointment, he placed a headband on me hooked to a device. The device was then hooked to a computer, he said the device reads my energy and my vibrations. He said he detected many things. Like an allergy I did not know I had to bread. He also said I had blood in my urine. Also, he said that I consumed too much sugar, which I found strange since I drink mostly water and eat very healthy to my knowledge. After he was done with the test, he placed some pills, with no information on the bottle, on top of the device. He claimed that the device gave frequency from the reading in his computer into the pills, and that the pills will now work with the problems I had. I know about the placebo effect.

Alternative Therapies :: Constant Headache / Dizziness And Nausea

I am mildly overweight, have low end of normal blood pressure.  I exercise approximately 5 days a week and walk about 1.5-3 miles a day during work hours --otherwise I have a desk job. I eat primarily whole grains and foods, whole goats milk, and only drink 1-2 times a week and typically not heavily.

I've had a constant headache since September 20, 2015. It started in the middle of the night and increased in severity throughout that month. The pain is at the front of my head varies from a 2-9 typically getting worse throughout the day and into the evening.  Other symptoms include dizziness and nausea, lightheadedness-- sometimes extreme and debilitating.

After 1 month, I went to the doctor who had a MRI done, several blood tests, a nerve block, a hospital DHE treatment, every painkiller and triptan/migraine drug in the book. I went on a course of Phenergan and diclofenac, and also had IV antibiotic in the hospital. I started taking magnesium supplements. I assessed the stressful elements of my life (at home and at work), began meditating, and lowered my overall stress. I did yoga and stretched did neck exercises which both reduced some of the pain. Nothing worked, and they recommended Topamax, but as nothing made a dent before, I decided to question their diagnosis of intractable migraine.

Since then, I had my Nexplanon implant removed (received it July 11th, 2015, removed it November 22, 2015). And started acupuncture. The acupuncture achieved some considerable relief, but after a month of treatment twice a week, I went on a business trip and took charcoal several times during the trip to work with a hangover (I don't drink much). During the end of the trip and the 5 days following it, I didn't have a headache. At the time, I concluded that the acupuncture had worked.

After the headache returned, I started to go through possibilities and took myself off of gluten. After a week, no change in headache. Then I started taking charcoal again after a eureka moment and then went 2 weeks without a headache. Yesterday I forgot to take my charcoal for 28 hours and my headache returned. I'm back on the stuff, and now feel like I'm narrowing in on finding the culprit!

Alternative Therapies :: Photophobia / Light Sensitivity - Actually Able To Walk Around Outside

I have had extremely bad photophobia for the last 3 yrs (sunglasses in house etc), which started after having my eyes dilated 4 times. I don't have any eye disease.  However 3 days ago I bought a herb (which i read about on the internet), called qi ju di huang wan. They are tiny little black pills and you take 30 a day. And I am actually able to walk around outside now without my sunglasses even in the sun!!!! (still best to wear em though).

Alternative Therapies :: Coconut Oil Pulling For Treating Allergies?

I was wondering if anyone here has ever tried oil pulling for treating allergies? Also, I was wondering how effective it is for treating allergies?  A woman at my local health food store suggested I try it, instead of using OTC allergy medications.  I've been taking 2 Coconut Oil softgels daily, plus my usual dose of antihistamines.  I love the coconut oil because of the boost it gives me, but would really like to get away from the antihistamines because it drops my energy level, basically I want to replace the allergy meds...

Alternative Therapies :: Probiotics Claim They Reduce High Blood Pressure

I have this problem-  I have bowl movement and then I have to lay down on bed, and massage all over my head for 10 minutes.  When I take probiotics, this feeling gets worse.  I do take olonzapine for sleep and have been on several anti-depressants before.  This annoying thing began happening summer of 2009 and is not healing by itself.  I do suffer from constipation time to time and sometimes it is chronic.  I discussed this issue with my GP and she doesn't know what's going on.  She says take fiber supplements for constiaption like Metamucil, but they make me worse.

I have not had bowl movement for 2 days now.  I discussed my resting after bowl movement with someone not a doctor and he said that it maybe little high blood pressure and it goes down after bowl movement.

Also does probiotic supplements increase or decrease blood pressure.  Probiotics claim they reduce high blood pressure.  I am getting mixed information from what I have searched on web.  About.com says it can also increase chances of sepis- blood infection and diverticulitis.  I don't know if this is true.

On some probiotic supplement, like Udo's, I think, not sure that probiotics can increase blood pressure.  When I take these I have to rest more and massage more after having bowl movement.

Vaginal Health :: Small Ridge Of Bone On Entrance, Pubic Bone?

My vagina opening is wide enough to fit a tampon, which i've done on many occasions however, anything larger than this and it doesn't seem to stretch anymore. The actual skin can stretch fine and does but at the opening is a small ridge of bone. Once you reach past this bit of bone, inside the vagina it can stretch fine, it's just that one ridge, i can put my finger round it and hook it but I can't actually move the bone (obviously)So my problem is just that when I come to having sex, nothing will fit. I think this bone is the pubic bone which is just sunk down too far. I can also feel it right behind my clitoris and urethra opening like everything has been squashed down into one small area. It doesnt come very far up on my front 'mound' but comes too far down underneath in my vaginal area.Is this normal? Has anyone experienced this? What should I do?

Bone / Joint :: Pain After Bone Spur/arthritis Surgery On Shoulder

I had surgery on June 14, 2011 to remove a bone spur on my left clavicle and to remove arthritis near (but not in) my shoulder joint.  It was the worse experience of my life. I was in constant agonizing pain for 2.5 months. Just for the record, I've had two ulnar nerve surgeries on my left AND right elbows and never even needed pain medication. This shoulder surgery apparently did not relieve any of my pain. I still have a dull aching pain through out the day starting in my neck (left side) to my shoulder, and down my bicep to my elbow.  I still can not sleep at night, and through out the day while working my shoulder/arm/ neck is killing me. I continue to take an Naproxin and continue to rotate heat and ice. I did physical therapy for the first two months after surgery. My concern is that had arthroscopic surgery, and there was NO rotator damage so why is my shoulder still in pain? My shoulder pops when I do try to rotate it.. and often when I simply reach outward for something..I'm in excruciating pain. I'm a baker, so I am constantly lifting a 34-50lb metal mixing bowl and have to reach many times through out the day. There really is no way to not do my job duties and still retain my job. Any ideas why I'm still having this problem?

Bone On Bone - Partial Knee Replacement After Microfracture Surgery?

I am a 47 year old female. I had Microfracture Knee surgery on January 12, 2016 and it was not a success. My doctor said that I am still bone on bone and will need a partial knee replacement. He uses the Oxford Partial Knee and says it is the best one to go with. I was able to get a Synvisc injection on May 12, 2016. My doctor and I are both hopeful that this will give me some time to make this big decision. I have had a really hard time recovering from the microfracture surgery. I was on crutches for five weeks and my knee got stuck in a bent position. I was in therapy for three months and I still cannot walk with a straight knee. The thought of undergoing another surgery is so scary.  I just want to be normal again and do all the things that I used to do before.

Osteoporosis And Osteopenia :: Bone Density Vs. Bone Quality

I found a paper recently that contained some insights that might be worth thinking about." Studies of Osteoporosis (OP) and drug treatments have challenged the concept that denser bone means stronger bone. Bone strength, or resistance to fracture, is not easily measured by routine DXA as it is a function of both density and quality".

Dermatology :: Bruise On My Arm

I have this strange bruise on my arm. It first looked like a spot then got bigger. I think my shirts must have scratched it open but it won't heal properly or disappear. I also have a general itch feeling on my body with quite a lot of spots (which i normally don't get). First I thought it might be bed bugs but my GP (and some other doctors I asked) said it doesn't look like it. I got an appointment with a NHS dermatologist in about a month but I am really considering going to a private one as I don't wanna wait for that long. What do you guys think?

Bruise Or Callus On Penis - A Decade Of Masturbation

I am 29 yo male, circumcised. Well over a decade I have masturbated about 1-3 times per day, by gripping my penis with my hand and moving it (and therefore the skin of my penis) up and down. About a month ago, a small dark area appeared on my penis, above the circumcision line (i.e. between the circumcision line and the glans). I think it's roughly where my thumb has generally rested when masturbating.

For a while I continued masturbating as usual, but in the last couple of weeks I've slowed down to once every two to four days, and tried using methods that I think might involve less damage to the skin of my penis. I read recently that circumcised males are supposed to use lubricant when masturbating, but I've been too shy to buy it at the chemist's.

I guess my question is: will it go away? I started out thinking it was a bruise, but now am afraid it is a callus and permanent. Is there anything I can do to make it go away? Is it something I can ask a doctor about or will they think it is inappropriate or frivolous?

Purple, Dark Brow Bruise Near Armpit Won't Go Away

I fell at work almost three months ago and hit my right upper arm towards the back, near my armpit ( on a trash can.. Lol ) I had an immediate shock and couldn't feel my arm for about 2 minutes. It still hurts, the immediate coloring was a dark purple. It hasn't started to fade at all- now it's a dark brown and still hurts. Same size. I don't have any blood disorders that I know of.

Gallbladder Removed :: Constant Bruise Type Pain Comes And Goes.

Ok I had my gb removed October 15. Prior to my op I would have occasional constant pain in gb/liver area this could last days at a time and was different from an attack as I could still carry on my daily tasks but always aware of this gnawing bruise like pain. I assumed this pain would go after op I'm thankful I no longer have those awful attacks but this pain still comes tho not as often as before.

Does anyone have the same? Should I be worried? Or is it just something I need to put up with? I had liver function and renal bloods done recently and all were normal.

I've also since December started to have burning stomach pain in upper abdomen but that probably isn't connected just thought I'd mention in case someone has had similar since removing gallbladder.

Thank you
