In the past few days my lips have swollen,burning,chapped, and a blister like look to them. I've recently made some changes in my diet like switching to almond milk, eating alot of blueberries, using monk fruit to sweeten my coffee instead of the artificial sweetners. Could any of these diet changes be causing my lips to be like this? It's very uncomfortable and looks horrible!!
View 1 RepliesI was wondering if someone could help! About a month ago I was at home alone. My mouth started to burn really bad I wanted to rip my teeth out it was burning that much, my lips swelled and the burning slowly travelled down my body! It was under my arms my bust then travelled to my stomach and down to the back of my knees. I then went all funny and felt like I was going to collapse, and felt really sick. This lasted about 40 mins I also had a red rash that went away after the 40 mins that looked like bites. I went to my GP but he just looked at me like I was a hypochondriac and had gone mad! This has happened again tonight whilst at work. Has anyone else experienced anything like this before?
View 3 RepliesMy son has had swollen eyes on and off but usually only one eye but is has happened in the other. I was told it's not pink eye probably allergies.
This morning he woke up with half of his lip upper and lower really swollen, no bites, not dark, just swollen.
When this happens whichever area is tender not itchy (except his eye but not all the time).
Was wandering if anyone has ever had a problem with their mouth due to having pets. I have had this problem since I was 12 and always had a dog on the house.

View 3 RepliesI've had swollen glands in my neck, a swollen larynx, and hoarseness for the past few days. The outside of my throat is also sore to touch and gets red. The inside of my throat is fine and it doesn't hurt to swallow. No fever, nothing else. When it rains it gets worse. It sometimes goes away after the rain. In the past I had it and it stayed for over two years straight! The ENT could find no reason for it. Is this allergy-related? Has anyone else had this? If so is there anything that can be done? Nothing I do seems to help. I take 20mg reactine that is supposed to last 24 hours, avamys a corticosteroid nasal spray for allergies. I also take symbicort, ventolin, and singulair for asthma.

After a week i had a blister on my lip which was very painful and didn't heal until 2 weeks i had a single lymph node under my jaw which was aching .i went to a doc and he gave me a cortisone cream .but my lip cant seem to heal it keeps burning and if i stop using medicine its surface gets badly damaged .its been 2 month now and some new lymph nodes on my neck have arrived which ache a bit .im worried what shud i do .does this sound like a herpes outbreak ?

I have been able to keep control of my flares but since having my daughter five months ago it has flared up quite Bradley in my face mainly my lips . For 8 weeks now they have been burning , incredible sore and itchy . Twice they have completely peeled . Doctor has said there's nothing she can do and suggested Vaseline !!
View 3 Repliessince yesterday night I started feeling an extreme dry burning sensation on the left upper lip starting. To be precise exactly above the point where the lower lip and upper lip join. It looks like a small white spot. No redness but feels like burning sensation. Even after applying vaseline aloe Vera lip balm the burning sensation is still there. I am very scared . Could it be cold sore . I am 30 years old and I have never had cold sore in my life.

Today I saw my pharynx and found some red small scratches. I also feel some phlegm coming down from the nose to the throat.
I took a tablespoon of honey and I felt relief.
I'm experiencing a anxiety crisis and I'm wondering whether it could be due to that.
Can you guys give me some orientation?

View 1 RepliesA few years back I got TMJ treatment (appliances and then braces). They moved my jaw which helped a little bit with migraines and pain I was dealing with. I had been using the acrylic orthotic night guard and retainer for a couple years at night when all of a sudden I started getting burning lips and then they would peel. I have to wear heavy lipbalm constantly in order not to get a rash.
After a year of trying to figure out what was causing it, I realized it was the retainer and nightguard. When I took them out for a while the reaction subsided. I'm not sure if it's a allergy or more likely a reaction to saliva or something else.
I ended up getting new retainers (like invisalign) and it stopped for a while but then returned after a month or so. The invisalign doesn't keep my jaw in line so I was waking up with pain for awhile. Now, I'm back to my old ones.
Any ideas for what to do? I don't think I can stop using my orthotic because my jaw will move. I've tried contacting other tmj specialists but they all want to charge me a bunch of $$ for a sales pitch and then more $$ for treatments.
I always clean them very well so I don't think it's any kind of bacterial thing, but who knows.

About 2 weeks ago I hooked up with my ex... A couple days later I started having an itching and burning on the outside of my vagina on the outer lips. It was very red and my labia got very swollen... The swelling went down but i've still been dealing with the itching and burning. The skin on my vagina is very wet and it get hard and peels off every couple days. I went into my docs and they said it was vaginitis and a yeast infection on the outside. They gave me the 1 time yeast infection pill (don't remember the name) and i've been drowning my body in probiotics. Nothing is making it to away. It's still itchy and peeling and now it's moved up to my anus. Does anyone know what this is? Is it just a horrible yeast infection?
View 1 RepliesHas anyone ever had a swollen lymph node under jaw line in throat because of allergies? I changed shifts at work and went to days about 3 months ago. Ever since the allergies have been brutal but I deal with it. I take occasional allergy meds. About the time I noticed a swollen lymph node on the left side of my throat . I also have occasional deep ear pain on same side. I went to my family doc and he didn't seemed worried. He gave me 500mg of amoxicillin and I took x3 a day. Well I took all the 30 pill dose and it's still swollen. It's sometimes sore but only when I mess with it. I'm 38 years old, healthy and do not feel sick. Should I worry about something major? Oh, I go to ENT in about a month to get a second opinion.

I recognise that some may be down to my having Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism but I think I am allergic to some of the medicine's contents. The medicine contains lactose and acacia. I know little about the latter but know that I have become lactose (as well as wheat) intolerant since being diagnosed (9 months ago) and given levo. Some side effects are - hot and then cold 'flushes', burning ears and lips, dizziness, continual headache. I have altered my diet and lifestyle to manage the condition as best as possible but cannot manage these side effects. Any help - or just sharing - very much welcomed. I wonder if there is an alternative drug on the NHS in the UK.
View 1 RepliesI'm 19, 2/3 months ago I was diagnosed with a Yeast Infec. so the doctor prescribed me a pill and it cleared up but around the end of January I had unprotected sex with someone and couple weeks after that I've been experiencing vaginal itching, my clitoris is swollen, my lips are swollen and my vagina opening. Also my vagina opening was white. I told my mom and she told me it's just another yeast infection & gave me Monistat I took it around February 4 and it did help with alittle my itching and my vagina opening wasn't as white as it was but my other symptoms are still present. I did start my period today and will go to doctor after I'm done but I just wanted some insight beforehand if you guys think I might have an STD?
View 1 RepliesAte pineapple yesterday morning, noticed it was a bit tangy. By noon yesterday, my mouth was on fire, lips and mouth flesh swollen, bottom lip almost droopy. It's not better now, how long should it take to return to normal, if it is caused by pineapple? Have sore throat too, with some blistering on throat.

View 1 RepliesI have been experiencing numerous symptoms since a brief encounter consisting of unprotected oral and protected vaginal sex on February 20th.
Day after encounter:-
Itchy mons pubis
Day 2-3:
The tip of my penis felt numb. I'm pretty sure I felt tingling at the base of the scrotum, which may or may not be irrelevant.
Days 4-12:
The tingling in my urethra turned into continuous burning--not any worse when urinating--which the doctor at CityMD didn't have much to say about.
Small papules formed on my upper inner thighs. The doctor prescribed me hydrocortisone, which has been somewhat helpful. My thighs still feel chaffed sometimes, but this could be unrelated. My scrotum was bright red and scaly. A different doctor (at a different CityMD) prescribed econazole, which has been fairly helpful.
Days 13-17 (current day):
The burning in my urethra has turned into more of an "ache", and has become more intermittent.
My tailbone just recently started aching, and I have been constipated, but both of these things could be irrelevant.
Throughout all of this I have had an inflamed/swollen meatus, a wrinkly/shriveled glans, and particularly dribbly clear pee left over when I go to the bathroom. If the dribbly clear pee is considered discharge it is watery odorless discharge.
My fear has been that the symptoms not explainable by the fungal infection are due to an atypical presentation of HSV-1 or HSV-2, or perhaps some other virus. There have not been any lesions, but the tingling testicles early on and the current tailbone (proximal to the sacral ganglia?) pain seem like they could plausibly be nerve-related.
I have also read about other things, like Mycoplasma genitalium and Trichomonas. I don't know if these possibilities are worth exploring or not. I am pretty sure I want a type specific IGG test for herpes 1 & 2 in any case. Could this somehow be prostate related?
One more thing: While I have not gotten any results back from my full panel STD test at CityMD, I am pretty it'll come up clean. My partner from the 20th had clean results. Also, for what it's worth, my urinalysis didn't show anything obvious at CityMD. I have not taken any antibiotics.
