View 1 RepliesMy son is aged 2.8years. when he was 1.5 years he could speak some words, some time last year January the house was changed. after the new one came the boy couldn't speak the words he used to speak and again you could find him seating some where looking as if he is stressed. When i arrive home from work he could come running to the door but this days he is not concerned at all. When i speak to him the words he used to he can't speak them again, You call him and he doesn't respond. I'm a worried Father, What do i do, i want him to remember what he used to do, to say. Where did we go wrong in bringing the boy up. He is turning three May 29th, he can only speak just one world "hello" he repeats that all the time. Is there a medication i can give him to change the situation?
View 2 Repliesim currently on 20mg of nortriptyline which I take everyday before bed. I have been on it for approximately two months. I was prescribed them for chronic daily basilar type vestibular migraine and struggling very very badly. Today I pretty much fainted, feeling ultra foggy, unable to speak or understand what people are saying and having numb legs and hands, as well as a fast heartbeat. Can I just stop taking these tablets on 20mg or do I need to taper down further? They have stopped all aspects of pain but the side effects are so extreme.

View 1 Repliesmy mom age 57 is facing a difficulty in breath taking. we shown her so many doctors (nuemeralogist, cardiologist, physician etc) but no body can understand why it happens. she is having BP also.
View 1 RepliesI am 4 months into my third depression in 30 years and this time along with all the usual symptoms there is a really debilitating problem with doing anything. This is not just demotivation but it feels physical. I will try and explain each activity is made up of individual movements so making a cup of tea involves standing up, walking to the kitchen, picking up the kettle, walking to the tap, turning the tap on, etc, etc. Well, each time one movement ends I have great difficulty moving onto the next one. There appears to be a block which takes huge amounts of willpower to overcome only to be back there again after the next movement. Often I will get so far and then give up. It has got to the point when I can spend all day unable to motivate myself to do anything because things just seem so pointless and hard work. Going to work at the moment is impossible and I am off sick but I now worry about how on earth I am going to go back. I have just been forcing myself until a couple of weeks back when I just gave up and rang in sick. After the initial relief that I could rest, the guilt kicked in and what I'd hoped would be rest is now anxiety riddled. Does anyone have any idea what on earth this troublesome symptom is? It feels like there is lubrication missing in my brain as if it's seized up. It's really horrible.
View 3 RepliesAfter taking citalopram 10mg for 4 weeks started little bit difficult to breathe for 5 days already and everytime i feel pain in heart area. Can it be allergy? i never felt like this before, today i have to rise to 20 mg and im panicking.
View 1 RepliesI am desperate and scared. I've always been a "slow swallower" but a couple of weeks ago things got much worse. I suddenly had extreme difficulty swallowing water. I was drinking a glass full and it made me feel like gagging, I had to stop and spit it out, I could not swallow. Ever since then it is extremely hard to swallow water. Oranje juice is a little easier and solids generally are okay. It is the initiation of a swallow that is hard. The water is in my mouth and I don't just automatically swallow, I have to think about i, it takes about 15 seconds to get a mouthful down. And I feel so much like gagging every time I have water in my mouth. It is worse if someone is in the room with me.
Everything I read points to something bad - ALS, brain tumors, etc. I am crying and crying I am so scared. The doctor doesn't know and won't' rule anything out until I have the swallowing evaluation (barium) and the ENT visit.
Also scaring me into thinking it is ALS is that I have had problems with my voice for several months, hoarseness, can't project, people can't hear me, I always have to repeat myself, I stumble and slur over words..
I'm scared of the swallow test, I read you have to drink 3 ounces of water as fast as you can. It makes me cry to think about that, it will take me 10 minutes.
I am so scared, can anyone give me any reassuring words? Has anyone ever had something like this happen and it wasn't serious?
All my life I have struggled with waking up in the morning. I am female, aged 71, and can remember this problem going right back to my childhood. I think I may have something called Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. It doesn't matter what time I go to bed, I find it almost impossible to fall asleep before about 1 am, but the problem in the morning is even worse. I don't think I've ever woken naturally and feeling awake and alert. I am drowsy and dopey and half asleep and if I don't have to get to a job or a meeting I can easily fall back asleep for another 2 hours. It takes three different alarms to wake me up, and most mornings I just feel sick and awful. Do other people have this problem and how do they cope?
View 6 RepliesI have asthma, we own a cat which we keep downstairs and don't allow it in the bathroom and any bedrooms and for 5+ years I've been having gew build ups in my eyes with some residue on and around the eyes, especially when waking it's a nuisance and at night time my eyes feel very dry and can feel much residue on my eye lashes. I also suffer with a blocked nose especially when waking.
I also suffered with a bad case of eczema this summer, having extreme flare ups on my cheeks (just below my eyes), neck (closer to under the chin), chest and the back of my knees, I also get urticaria especially just below my eyes.
suffering so badly I went for a rast/immunoglobulin test for eggs, milk, wheat and cat and finally received the results. my total ku/l level was over 1,000 and deemed abnormally high. eggs, milk and wheat were all within the 0.01 - 0.1 range with no additional comments. cat was over 100 and deemed very high and higher than the limit
would this be lead to believe cats are the main cause to my allergies and judging by such high readings I would need to avoid cats to get the best clear up of my allergies? we are currently using hypo-allergenic wipes for the cat but too early to see any results
I want dust mites and dogs tested too so I might go for further testing but as of right now it would seem the cat is the number one cause to my high symptoms, would anyone recommend completely avoiding cats with such high results or could there be work arounds? I high feel I will be wanting to move into a cat free home soon which I hope will help a lot
Ok so I've been trying to get rid of my hives for a little over a week now. This is the first time I've had them. I've gone to the doctor twice and the ER once for them. The doctor gave me 2 steroid shots and gave me some scripts. I'm using Triamcinolone Acetonide cream, I'm on day 4/6 MethylPREDNISolone pills, and I'm taking Hydroxyzine pills 4x daily. The ER suggested that it may be scabies and prescribed me the cream which I've already used and am through with. The ER also gave me a shot of meds that was suppose to kill the scabies if there were any and gave me a shot of benadryl. The ER wasn't sure if I actually had scabies or not but went ahead and treated me for them just in case. I live in my apartment with my boyfriend and he has been untouched. I've washed everything washable in hot water twice now and I've been staying at my grandmother's house until I can get rid of them. But they're still popping up. I haven't changed anything in my diet. I do own 3 cats but have never had problems with them. They are indoor cats and I haven't seen them in 4 days. I haven't changed anything in my daily routine. I'm just completely out of ideas for why/how I've gotten them and why I can't get rid of them. I have another prednisone treatment waiting at the pharmacy for me prescribed by the ER but haven't picked it up yet because I'm still taking the Methyl. I have been to an allergist but all the tests came back negative.
View 2 RepliesI am an Australian who has been travelling to USA annually for the last 6 years.
Every time I visit the USA, after approx 4 or 5 days I break out in itchy, red bumps (hives?) all over my torso and upper arms. The outbreak lasts as long as I stay in the USA, and subsides almost completely within 24-48hrs after returning to Australia.
I have stayed at different hotels each time, so I don't think bedding can be blamed, and there is not a particular food I believe triggers this...
What could it be in USA that I am so allergic to, that does not exist in Australia. I travel the world extensively for work and have not experienced the rash in any other region either.
Antihistamines (Benadryl) does not seem to help at all.
Is there some food additives/preservatives that are unique to USA that I may be sensitive to?
Recently when I find it difficult to begin certain letters, such as 'a', 'v', 'r' and 'd', when I am writing. I am studying Physics, and so write a lot of maths. I have never previously had any trouble writing letters, and consider myself to have neat handwriting. I have tried different pens, pencils e.t.c, and worry this might have some link with Parkinson’s disease, which runs in my Dad's side of the family. I am a male aged 18.
View 1 RepliesI've been taking ramipril now for 9 years with no significant side effects, but lately I've developed a dry mouth and difficulty in swallowing. I've had various blood tests which have all been ok. Could Ramipril cause this condition after so many years ?
View 1 RepliesMy wife was prescribed 10 milligrams/day dose of ramipril and nearly passed out in town, palpitations, difficulty breathing and pain in the chest. She was admitted to hospital with a view that she might have had a heart attack. They put a camera up her femoral artery but her heart was clear, no problems.
her blood pressure was 90 over 45. we stopped her taking the Ramipril and all her symptoms disappeared. It was as if the tablets were producing the palpitations and the chest pains which she was taking more and more tablets for.

All the doctors have given me a clean bill of health and yet I can't run a 1/4 mile without being completely out of breath. Has anyone else experienced this? I need help because I am trying to be a peace officer and it is what I have been working toward for years. I have to be able to run for this job and right now I can't.
