Allergies :: Delayed Reaction To Penicillin?

Last night I came up with horrendous lumps, bumps and itchy mosquito type looking rashes all over my body. I have been on Penicillin for about 10 days and only started getting itchy on my scalp maybe a day or so ago, and now these symptoms have seemed to broken out into something very severe!!
The spots keep changing and moving into different spots all over my body, on my face, in my ears, on my knees, arms, hands etc.
The doctor gave me (Prednisone) which is a steroid hormone. This has helped the itching. They say it couldn't have been the penicillin, otherwise I would have reacted far earlier than after 10 days of treatment...
But then I looked at some academic journals, which stated that you can have 'delayed' drug reactions to antibiotics, sometimes a week after first taking them??
I did eat seafood a day or so ago ...but usually am fine eating shellfish etc.
It looks like someone has severely beaten up my legs with a pole! These huge golf ball size hives, very bizarre!
Anyway... my question is...has anyone else had a 'delayed' reaction or unpredictable reaction to antibiotics/penicillin?

If you have ruptured a tendon, particularly a large one ie., Rotator Cuff or Achilles and you aren't sure why, then consider whether or not you have taken an antibiotic in the Fluoroquinolone/Quinolone group, in the previous year. If so, then please refer to discussions on Ciprofloxacin or Levofloxacin or Fluoroquinolones, as you may be suffering a delayed adverse reaction. This can happen long after you have stopped taking these antibiotics - there are others in this class too.

My Dr gave me a sample of Enbrel to try while waiting for my insurance to approve treatment (they didn't but that's another story).
The Rheumy nurse attempted to show me how to use the pen and pulled the pen out too quick and squirted most of the medication on the floor. My Rheumatologist gave me another pen and told me just to do it at home since I was comfortable doing it myself. That was two weeks ago. Today I have these huge red spots a small one where the nurse tried to inject and a huge one where I injected.
It's very sore and is getting more bruised looking as the day goes on.
I had been on a prednisone taper and have been off prednisone for 2 days now. Has anyone had a delayed reaction like this? Or maybe the prednisone was keeping this at bay? Your thoughts please?

I received a tetanus toxoid booster in early December. I had no reaction until three weeks later, when I began having shoulder muscle pain and tingling down to my fingers. This pain has lasted 10 days. According to drugs.com this could be a rare reaction but other than "call your doctor" it says nothing about how serious this is or what can be done about it. I called my doctor, who did not think this was serious. Any thoughts?

I had a severe anaphylactic reaction 10 months ago and they have never been able to establish the trigger. I now have to keep with me epi-pens and steroids. I don't have the best memory going and I wondered if anyone in a similar position has any tips that will help me to remember them? I know this sounds stupid but when my wife is with me she always reminds me and so we have them on us, but when I'm at work (I work in various places), I take them with me but if I'm needed elsewhere I have a tendency of leaving them in my locker at base.

A few days ago I was diagnosed with gastritis. I admit I did take a messy course of self-prescribed antibiotics for a tooth infection, it included aspirin and penicillin, which I discontinued 4 months ago.
My question is, if the gastritis was a result of those drugs, shouldn't I have recovered after discontinuing the drugs? Or could it be bile reflux and have nothing to do with the drugs?

OKAY HERES THE ISSUE:
I have had MULTIPLE duo tests for HIV in the past couple months. My last unprotected sex was November 27, 2015. It was all vaginal sex and i do not know the guys status.
the last test i had was a duo at 15 weeks.
I am tired of letting this anxiety/testing take over my life.
Hopefully someone can address these concerns for me.
1) I have heard about delayed seroconversion. I understand there might be a small chance of this happening beyond 3 months. However, with the DUO test, if there was a delay in seroconversion, would the antigen part of the test pick it up?
I'm assuming delayed seroconversion was more common with 1st/2nd gen tests
2) what is the likelihood that i will test positive at this point? I haven't had sex since, i tested negative at 15 weeks with a DUO and had vaginal, unprotected sex possibly 30 times with someone. i'm assuming its something like: -
0.08 (chance of infection from receptive vaginal) x 30 = 2.4
2.4 x 0.1 (chance of it being positive beyond 3 weeks) = 0.24???
is this correct?

I had unprotected sex with my Girlfriend on the 12th Day of her periods and immediately after intercorse, she washed her vagina and was able to get all most all of the sperms from inside her and also I did not fully ejaculate inside her. She had a Unwanted 72 Tablet within 2 hrs from intercourse.
I wanted to know whether this can result in delayed periods as her periods are late by 2 days and how much chances are there for her getting pregnant.

Can dry sex result in pregnancy? Like dry rubbing when you have 2 layers of clothes on? I didn't have intercourse but was wearing the bottoms and underwear as well. Also my bf was wearing condom. The condom slipped and spilled a bit, but can this result in pregnancy? I am not having my periods and I am really scared.

Seen consultant today, an actual genuine foot and ankle one as opposed to the spinal one I was apparently seeing (go figure..but it's the UK and you see who you see..) Anyway, I fractured my metatarsal, midshaft, spiral, minimal displacement on 17 Dec 2014. Done all I should, rested (no boot offered), on crutches etc, off work for 6 weeks. STILL not showing any callus although bone is closer together than it was. Consultant today says he thinks I ought to have pins and plate in. Q scared at this..as not over painful now, although can't walk for miles, painful, and couldn't run (I was a big walker and used to run a bit too) Officially a delayed union...should I have op or will it cause more problems. If I have it it's back to square one..and worse as foot was never very painful when I did it, and I imagine will be painful having pins and plates in.

Me and My Gf are 19yrs. old.
And we have a problem due to sex. because the last time we had unprotected sex she was delay for 3 weeks but she got her period after that.. but this time she's delay for almost 2 months. I don't know what's going on and I'm afraid if she's pregnant.

I'm a 33 years with a 8 yr old child. had regular 28 days cycle of periods of 3 days till the age of 31. But for the last 2 years the cycle has changed to a regular 60 day cycle with slight increase in flow. I weight 80 kgs currently and height 5ft7". gradually put on 15kgs of weight in last 5 yrs. diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency and having DRise weekly.Calcium and thyroid levels normal.Joint pain due to weight and lack of exercise.This time got periods after 62 days. but instead of 3 days have been bleeding for 15 days. Not the regular flow but just a drop or 2 everyday.The texture of the period is like the normal period.

My doctor gave me duphaston for seven days and asked me to start primolut-N on the 4th or 5th day of periods.. But I last night accidently had primolut-N. Will that be a problem?

Have delayed ejaculation and need advice and help if you have experience here.
During my 22-year marriage I never had enough sex. I had to masturbate once or twice a week to relieve myself. However, I did not have any issues with getting erect or with ejaculating

So in that instance it is 100% in my mind. I am amazed at how this works pretty much all the time, I simply act that there is no one in the room and I can pee.
I am thinking that I need something like this in order to ejaculate during intercourse or oral sex or with a hand job. My girlfriend is there to help with anything that can be practiced with a couple.

Just wondered if anyone had experienced delayed WD after tapering off an antidepressant, especially mirtazapine? I don't mean a few days, but feeling great for a few weeks and then suffering WD symptoms. I stopped mirt just over 6 weeks ago after a very slow taper and felt great for the first four weeks. Then a couple of weeks ago, I completely lost my appetite and have dropped lots of weight. No nausea, just having to force every morsel of food down me except for sweets which I can tolerate. I also have severe fatigue and restless legs. I do have stage 3 kidney disease and am awaiting the results of blood tests the doctor got done for me yesterday. All symptoms are indicative of a worsening kidney disease, but they are also WD symptoms. I personally can't believe WD could start suddenly on week five after stopping a drug, but just wondered if anyone else had experienced it?

I'm 23yr I was very off to my schedule this month, I drank a too much of beer, involved in physical relation with my bf, did a little if work out n changed dietary N now facing the symptoms I have not got my periods this month...took the test also, it's negative , do think think it's related to alcohol?? Please help me get my periods coz I have never missed them or have never faced a delay of this long (4 days).
