Mar 16, 2015
Hello my name is Brandon, I started off with a common cold about a month ago and been too many doctors all saying this way part of a virus. The cold symtoms went away but what stayed was my constant headaches, dizziness, fatigue, light headed and just unable to do any physical activity without getting dizzy or light headed. Doctors have put me on meds that have not worked and im still like this, I havnt been able to go to work or go to the gym in over a month, does anybody have any cases like this?

I have had urines tests and blood test, they are all negative. Its constant and all day, it never goes away although some hours are worse then others. I have been on a medication called pristiq which is an antidepressant for almost 2 years, I tried increasing the dose in case that was causing it but it didn't work, can anyone help me please? Thank you

I've been referred to CFS after 6 months of various symptoms. I wondered if anyone has problems when looking at a computer screen. I've been back at work full time for a couple of months but I still get headaches and dizziness after I look at a computer screen for a few hours. Unfortunately, my work means im looking at a computer a lot. I've had my eyes checked out - i use VDU glasses but the dizziness and headaches continue. Its not a symptom i've seen mentioned before.

So I just ended my period a week ago and had a little bit of bleeding when I wiped for the past few days then today my bleeding was really heavy and I've had cramps and horrible headaches for the past few days. I've also felt a little light headed and my cramps have been pretty bad but different than period cramps. What is wrong with me?

Last week I was under the weather so started taking Paracetamol. The problem is that I was a) A bit loose with the guidelines (i.e. 4-6 hours, more like every 2-3) and b) I was taking Lemsip and Sudafed when obviously you are not supposed to take different types of paracetamol.
On Friday I went out for a few drinks (lager & vodka). Since Saturday I have been feeling incredibly anxious (not a normal character trait) and on Sunday had what I can only describe as my first ever panic attack. Since then I have been feeling anxious, sometimes light-headed and heart racing.
Sunday was the lowpoint and it was starting to improve and by Thursday I felt back to normal…so I went to the gym. 30 mins into what was not an overly strenuous routine, I was back to feeling light headed, anxious etc – just sometimes coming over me in waves.
Could this be linked to the over-use of paracetamol combined with the booze or have I maybe something more serious to worry about?

I have damage to my heart from chemotherapy I had as a child and it is progressing and I have now been put on Lisinopril to try to help keep it from worsening any further or as quickly. I do not have high BP (my BP tends to run normal to a little low if anything). I started on Lisinopril Wed. night and Saturday morning I went grocery shopping & while pushing the cart and walking I got extremely light headed, a little dizzy, & my vision went a little blurry, I thought I was going to pass out. I ended up having to stop and sit down for a few minutes. I was able to complete my shopping but had to stop several times throughout due to the sudden light headed feeling coming back. I have never had this happen before and I don't know if my body just needs to adjust to the Lisinopril or if it is lowering my BP too much and causing these issues. Do I just need to let my body adjust or do I need to call doc & get back off of it.

I was having frequent headaches and occasionally feeling lightheaded with floaters. I went to the opticians and they referred me to the ophthalmologist who put eye drops in and said that at the back of my left eye the optic nerve was sheeted. (I don't understand what this term means and cannot see anything on the internet to explain either) He just said that I didn't have any other symptoms for Optic Neuritis and wasn't sure but didn't think it was anything sinister. I am now waiting for a scan of the eye to see what that shows.
However, the last couple of weeks I have been getting pins and needles all over my body, mainly in arms and legs. I've also had general aching pains.
I have read online about symptoms and they point to all kinds of things, Fibromyalgia, Anxiety and possibly MS. As you can imagine this has really scared me as I have read that problems with the optic nerve can also be related.
Has anyone else had these symptoms or are they too few for me to be making assumptions?

I am debating if I should go to the Emergency Room, as it's a Sunday. My story - 26 year old male, healthy. Since age 10, I have had an intermittent feeling of my breath being stuck in my upper abdomen (solar plexus area) and a little in my chest but not much. Sometimes when going for a deep breath, I feel pain in the chest, but very rare. It almost feels like there is a wall in between my stomach and my lungs that prevents air coming out. I know it's weird because you breath out of your lungs not your stomach. The only way it comes out is when I finally catch my breath, which means I need to wait for it to be able to escape and then I finally get the deep breath I need. Also yawning often allows the breath to occur. When this is happening, I can still breath but it's like only 10% of my lungs fill up with air, like someone is standing on the other 90% of my lungs, preventing them from filling up.
My BASELINE/ usual status is having the breath being stuck symptom maybe 10 times a day, usually while eating. This has become normal for me and I don't even think about it until people who I am eating with say, "what is wrong with you?"
When it is GOOD, it happens even less, maybe once a day and I will barely realize it happened.
When it is BAD, it happens often, maybe 20 times an hour.
The last week it has been EXTREME to the point where I will be struggling for a full breath once a minute. It is so bad that I have been feeling light headed (main reason for the alarm here). I have class on weekends and I was walking to the train for class, and my body was telling me to stay home (i am the type of person who doesn't make a big deal out of anything and never skips stuff).
Background- I sleep very well, usually 7-8 hours a night, am very healthy, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, run 6 miles 3 times a week (it happens the same when I run but it doesn't prevent me from running), played sports my whole life, doctors always tell me my blood work and everything is off the charts good. The reasons I just listed, combined with my Mom (nurse) always telling me I am fine have made me stop seeking cures for this. I had every test under the sun done when I was 15 (EKG, Barium Swallow, Blood work, etc) and everything came back clear. I have a concave chest (my chest caves in) and the doctor told me that my chest bone is interfering with my breathing (eyes rolling). But now that I am feeling light headed, I think it's time to go to the emergency room. I am going to go to a heart center in my town (Brooklyn, NY). Also, I LOVE doing research about stuff and have been reading about this a lot and tons of people have similar symptoms which has comforted me. But now it's time for me to get tested again I think. Maybe this just talked me into going to the ER.

I was diagnosed with post viral fatigue this year following a bad virus. Before that I was pretty healthy, I walked to work everyday and was at the gym a few times a week. Now, although I have recovered a lot from when it first hit, I still struggle day to day. Something as small as walking up the stairs knocks me ill, and a few hours out can leave me aching for days. Even cooking a meal isn't usually an option.
I'm getting frustrated because although I can accept that nights out and shopping centres are out of the question (I'm in my mid twenties, so what I usually did), I'm still working full time, even though this means that most of my time off is spent resting (in pain) to try and keep myself fit for work. I can't quit my job because we need the money but I'm not coping very well. My employer is usually good but because there is technically nothing wrong with me (my doctor thinks it will pass, and its not classed as a disability) they won't make any allowances or accommodations, which means that its not unusual for me to work very late nights or six days a week. My performance is suffering and I worry about dismissal. I want to work part time to give myself more rest (and be better at my job) but I won't be able to pay the bills, and my family don't think this is an option for us.
I've tried going back to the doctors but although she has run blood tests etc, I kind of get the feeling that she doesn't see why I'm bothering her, as she just tells me that recovery can take several months, and it's not quite been six.
It just leaves me frustrated because I feel so guilty about being ill. Although they tell me to rest and recover, it seems to be as long as I can manage pretty much as I did before. I know I put too much pressure on myself, but I feel as though I'm doing something wrong by needing help now, even though I've worked my whole life.
Does anyone else feel this way?

About 3 months ago (Nov 1). I woke up one morning and did not feel dizzy but definitely off. Groggy, lightheaded, wonky I guess you could say. I can describe it like how it would look if you were standing at the top of a tall building. Things just looked foggy to me. It scared the hell out of me. I waited about 2 weeks because I thought I was just tired. It wasn't going away so I went to the emergency room and the first thing he did was check my ear and told me it was red and inflamed which is causing me to feel wonky. He said it was a mild Vestibular Neuritis. He said it's just viral and it will go away on it's own. Well, I have gone to my family doctor about 5 times since then JUST to have her check in my ear. It's now February and she still sees that it is red and inflamed. She said she doesn't want to just throw antibiotics at it because it DEFINITELY is NOT an infections and that it is viral. She said she also does not want to prescribe dizzy meds because if the room is not spinning then she doesn't want me to take them. I feel like I'd rather feel dizzy than feel this!!! How long does this "viral" crap last???? I have not felt ANY improvement since it started. Unless I am just used to feeling this way so it doesn't seem as scary anymore?? The only way I can describe it is that I am the most tired I have EVER been in my life. (gone for TONS of bloodwork and I am totally fine everywhere). SO just super tired and I have MASSIVE sensitivity to certain lights. I work under one at work and maintenance had to come in and dim the light for me. It's so frustrating because people look at me and automatically know that something is wrong with me because they see I am trying to focus on their faces. It's been like 4 months and I can't even deal with this anymore. My doctor seems as if she is fed up with me which I hate because I obviously wouldn't be going there if there weren't a problem. Last time I went she said the ear was still red and that she was going to send me to an ENT specialist. I have been waiting SO long for this appointment and it is finally on March 3. I just have the strongest feeling they are going to send me away AGAIN saying I need an MRI and then I have to wait even LONGER. My husband and I want to try and have a baby and we have totally put our lives on hold because I don't want to be pregnant and not being able to go for these tests that you can't go to when pregnant. I just want answers. I'm so upset. I know it's not vertigo because things aren't spinning. It's so hard to describe I'm just so tired and have a foggy head and sometimes that same ear aches and even that side of my head aches too. And forget being under certain lights. Does anybody know what I am talking about?? Please help me. I'm so nervous about going to this END as well because I don't want them finding anything super serious. I am so scared from all of this and I just wish I could get some answers. Will the ENT confirm that it is in fact VN? My doctor hasn't confirmed that. She just keeps saying "it's red and it's viral." I am so fed up and so sick and tired of feeling tired and foggy and wonky.

I'm really worried. I'm an 18 year old male. I'm studying for my final exams and I'm having some serious problems with my health.
I got a strep throat in October. It was treated with antibiotics and it passed and I was severely ill. In December I had appendicitis and they were removed. I then had 3 sore throat and serious fatigue episodes in January March and right now. At the moment my tonsils are inflamed and I'm seriously fatigued and feel run down. I'm waiting on my results of blood tests. My recent esr test was 70mm/ph. I'm getting the rest of the results Wednesday.
Has anyone had problems like this before ? I'm really worried and I have my finals in a few weeks.

After 3 long months and what seems like an endless struggle to get diagnosed, I have been diagnosed with an imbalance between my inner ears due to a viral infection, leading to a diagnosis of vestibular neuritis. The doctor said my migraines could also possibly be presenting themselves atypically and aggravating the situation.
I am doing vestibular rehabilitation exercises and taking steps to unclog my sinuses.
This is the longest ailment I've had and quite frankly I'm fed up, I know rehabilition will take a while, however does anyone know how long this thing can last??? It's ruining my concentration at work and puts me off social situations (I can't drink, it makes me wake up the next day feeling extra dizzy)

I live near Sydney , Australia, 49 years old, normally very fit and healthy. 8 weeks ago I was bitten by a large adult tick on right shoulder while hiking. It was on me for about 24hrs before I noticed, killed and removed it. A week after bite, chronic dull headaches started, sinus pain focussed on left side with whitish foamy post nasal drip, neck like a pepper grinder when I turn it, jaw joints clicking and stiff, darkened hollows around eyes, extreme unnatural fatigue. Have been to 3 separate GP doctors and local hospital ED several times and they were at a loss except to give me painkillers and antibiotics. Given 4 blood tests and all returned completely normal with no markers for inflammation, serology negative for infections. Had sinus x-ray: normal. Had brain MRI: normal Have taken so far in sequence, Doxycycline 100, then Amoxicillin Forte with Clavulanic Acid, now on Cephalexin and Metronidazole in combination with grape seed extract. None have made much difference except to lessen the headaches and I suppose rule out bacterial infections, so what I have is probably viral. Taking loads of vit C, garlic, horseradish, etc and resting in bed but nothing is helping. This going on for 6 weeks now, very debilitating.

I have had a viral chest infection for 10 weeks, have just gone back to work part time after 6 weeks off sick. My cough went weeks ago but I still feel unwell (which varies day to day) with lung pain (worse when I lie down, walk, bend etc) and ringing in the ears.
I am worried about how long it is taking to get better, the Doctor gave me nothing apart from painkillers and said it is just a nasty bug. I am also worried whether going back to work was the right thing, do you think it will make it worse?

5 weeks ago mid morning my head started spinning violently I had no balance and was sick. I felt hot but had a cold sweat .my wife called an ambulance and was taken to a&e . blood tests showed serious infection so was admitted and put on antibiotic drip and oral anti sickness and anti vertigo pills . 2 days later the sickness was much better and the vertigo better as long as I did not move my head .however I still felt very lightheaded and had no balance so stayed in hospital . 4 days on no change so I had mri brain scan which showed nothing . next day i saw ent and doc diagnosed viral vestibular neuritis . further blood tests showed infection clear so I was discharged and told to do the head moving exercises I had been shown .5 weeks on nothing has improved I cannot drive play golf and feel like I am drunk when trying to walk .how long can this last I feel I am not living but just existing.

I've been dizzy and "drunk" feeling since the end if march every day constantly. I don't know what it could be. I haven't gone back to the doc since they told me it was inner ear fluid build up. It came on after some extreme stress in my life started. What should I do? Go back to the doc?

My boyfriend and I had sex 2 days ago and for the past 2 days I've noticed light pink blood when I pee. It's only noticeable on the toilet paper after I wipe but it's definitely there. It comes and goes throughout the day. There are no other symptoms with it. The sex did get pretty rough and lasted hours so I got quite dry. I also just got off my period 4 days before we had sex so could this just be leftover blood? I also have a iud in as well. Im 100% sure this isn't an STD. It's the first time it happened and like I said it's only light pink spotting and no other symptoms. What else could it be?

Im 14 weeks and I keep having constant headaches any ideas how I can get rid of them ?
View 3 Replies
I've always had headaches, but for the last 6 months I've noticed they seem to have a pattern, whenever my partner goes away on work (he's a freelancer so that's every couple of weeks, normally for a couple of weeks) I get these mind numbing headaches that stretch round my forehead and over to above my ears, I'll get them almost every day, and painkillers rarely help, and yet the second he gets back they will go completely and I won't get another until he leaves again.

I have a headache almost every day and now on the ride side i have a terrible pain that hurts when you barely touch it.

I have had various health issues in the latter part of my adult life but one thing that has always remained constant throughout is my groin pain. It does come and go but, in recent years, has become a real, persistent pain. I think I have learned to live with it until I was recently Assessed as having ME/CFS.
My support suggests I self medicate as all pain uses energy!
One specialist I saw suggested it was ACNES and gave me a cortisone injection which worked for a short while.
I have asked my doctor to do a scan for me just to see if it is related to my ovary removal 3 years ago.
That brought up nothing.
recently had blood tests done and no concerns there.
has anyone experienced this pain, just in one groin, not both; the right side ??
I would love to hear from anyone who has any thoughts on this or experience of it themselves.
