ACE Inhibitors :: Ramipril - Works Practically Overnight

Apr 4, 2015

Is it usual for this medication to work practically overnight? After only 2 doses of 2.5mg. my BP has come down from 161/86 to 124/79. Doc. Says that it could take a few weeks so I'm really surprised.

Anxiety :: Negative Thoughts - No Friends, No One To Talk To And Practically No Life

Over the past 3 years I've practically shut myself out of every social situation I can think of, not because of fear but because I'd rather be playing video games. Over the course of those 3 years I've lost all my friends and postponed school, work, and relationships. Coming to this point where I realize what I've done I became anxious, no friends, no one to talk to, no school, and practically no life. I'm not sure what to do at this point. When I leave my home i'm always alone with nobody to talk to and it makes me really self conscious, I'm always worried about what people think of me and when people laugh or smile around me I assume it's because of something to do with me, I feel like I no longer have the social skills I use to, I remember always being easily able to talk to anybody and be social and enjoy my time with whoever I meet and make sure to leave a great impression but now no matter who I talk to I just feel like a huge loser who is just wasting their time or just someone who they'll talk to their friends and laugh about later over something I said or did. Aside from that, I get anxious thinking to much considering the fact that I have no one to talk to I just think about nonsense, things that never happened like horrible images in my head that just make me uncomfortable and just worsen my anxiety and make it harder to do anything at all and I just find myself stuck on these ridiculous ideas and things that could potentially happen to me when I know full well they wont and never have but I still feel like I'm purposely torturing myself with things that just aren't true and I cannot figure out why.

Right now I've got another month to wait before I begin school again and hopefully start getting my life back together and In the meantime i have picked up some sports but I really feel like I am just so lost and afraid and I have no idea what to do, whenever i go out to do anything i'm just worried anxious and it heavily impairs whatever I try to do and makes it harder because I'm afraid of looking foolish.

Diabetes :: Blood Sugar Spikes Overnight (Type 1)

I have a 13 year son and he was diagnosed with Type1 Diabetes September 2010 and it has been a struggle every since. As a mother, I get so scared because I seem to cant control his sugar. Lately he has been waking up to high readings, over 300, and I'm not sure why it gets that high. We have had problems in the past when he would sneak and eat chips and candy, the stuff that he knows he shouldn't be eating but he promises that he doesn't eat after dinner and is positive that he doesn't know why his sugar is high in the mornings.

ACE Inhibitors :: Lisinopril - How Effective It Is?

I find this medication awful , it is ruining my life, I can't sleep as I am so restless, when I do finally doze off I am up peeing. I have swollen legs and ankles which is putting pressure on the arthritis in my feet. I crashed the car two weeks ago while having a 'blood pressure moment' i.e a brief blackout - I hate it and am trying to establish what the drug does - it reduces BP and the risk of stroke and heart attack but to what degree.

I am almost at the stage of get up get kids ready for school etc, go to work come home cook diner, wash up etc bed by 9 up at 7 I have no energy. Doc completely unsympathetic says you don't want it don't take it.

ACE Inhibitors :: Lisinopril Gluten Free?

I am coeliac and my GP would like me to try Lisinopril for my unacceptably high blood pressure. However neither he, the pharmacist nor myself have been able to discover if the drug is gluten free. We are also concerned that I have had severe allergic reactions (SJS) to ACE inhibitors in the past.

Gout :: Because Of Proton Pump Inhibitors

Have taken several forms of ppis over the past year on and off and for the past six months cimetidine. Now have gout lower back. You tell the doctor this and he doesn't want to accept it. I do not eat much in the way of acidic - bad diet - and this can be the only cause of it. Yet doctor tries to fob me off with how it is just some temporary thing - a month later it is still there. I have insisted on blood tests for kidney and liver as I know it is not some muscle strain and that would not last a month or have fatigue and

dizziness with it either. He had also told me that people do not get a lot of coughing from ppis. WellI go it and nothing else could have caused it. I only ever had the bad coughing when taking the ppis, it would stop when I came off and start again when I started again. I then found about 50 people online with the same problem.

ACE Inhibitors :: Perindopril - Sore Throat

I started on this drug September 2012 for elevated blood pressure and a family history of heart disease.

2mg and at the same time was asked to take Lipitor for cholesterol 10mg.

I developed a sore throat well not sore but one that on talking a lot or singing say would strain and then be sore..I do a lot of talking in my job which doesn't help.

Had it checked out and was assured it was nothing sinister(tablets were never mentioned) and it subsided but was still reluctant to strain my voice as i knew it would be painful.

Its back this last 4 weeks with avengeance a lot worse than before and my voice seems to have changed pitch a little and though not sore as in when you have a cold it is on speaking at length.

I ask if anyone else has had a similar problem.I don't know if it is the perindopril but on looking at this forum there seems to be a lot of problems with it in the throat area.

ACE Inhibitors :: Lisinopril With Tinnitus And Feeling Anxious

My partner has been on Lisinopril for the last 2 weeks, he has been suffering with feeling anxious and his Tinnitus has been a lot worse than usual also not sleeping like he normally does, we have our own BP machine and taking it at home it's fine often 120/73, but at the Doctors it can be 150/100 is this just white coat, my BP is almost the same at home and at the doctors as his, he has not taken one today and is going to see how he is over the weekend and try to get an earlier appointment, when speaking to a nurse recently she thought that he didn't have high BP, so why is he on them then?

Sorry I forgot to mention when on Lisinopril my partners BP is as low as 97/66, is this too low?

PDE5 Inhibitors (Sildenafil) For Labile Hypertension

I am a physician S/P resection of Pituitary Macroadenoma (Stroke Risk) and keep BP tightly controlled using multiple Meds. I have found serendipitously PDE5 Inhibitors, such as Sildenafil (Viagra), Vardenafil...to be best tolerated PRNs for acutely incr. BP, especially with reflex Bradycardia. As a physician, I am aware of potential interactions (Don't try this if you are not).  Who else knows about this, has tried it?  Why not?  Who is studying this. These are, of course, already used for Pulmonary Hypertension. Please respond if you have ideas or info.

Acid Reflux :: PPI's (Proton Pump Inhibitors) And Your Body

There are many published studies that describe the various side effects associated with the H2 antagonist (PPI) products. When the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) notifies doctors about the side effects, of PPIs, why would you put yourself at risk by taking them?

If a person goes to a Gastroenterologist with esophageal reflux (GERD), virtually every GI doctor will automatically prescribe a PPI, without doing any kind of testing. After taking the PPI for a while, the Gastroenterologist may refer you to a doctor that will perform an endoscopy or colonoscopy. These procedures, are not accurate enough to diagnose Hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid), Hypochlorhydria (high stomach acid), or Normal stomach acid. In either case, the patient will be prescribed more PPIs. Some doctors will do testing that involves surgically attaching a device to the wall of your esophagus. The device will remain attached to your esophagus for 24 hours, while the pH of the esophageal fluid is being monitored, by a recorder that you wear. At the end of this test the doctor, will tell you something you already knew!!! "YOU HAVE REFLUX" Worst case scenario, the patient may undergo exploratory surgery, which may result in "unnecessary organs" being removed.

Gastroenterologist and many other medical specialty doctors automatically assume that patients with Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) are over producing Hydrochloric acid (HCL). Unfortunately in many instances this assumption is wrong. The symptoms associated with excess acid production (hyperchlorhydria) and low stomach acid (hypochlorhydria) are identical, making it very difficult to diagnose, without a pH diagnostic test. Both conditions will cause reflux, belching, bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea and/or constipation, flatulence, etc.

Before taking any type of PPI or acid reducing medication, have your doctor give you a pH Diagnostic test, or Gastrogram. It will tell the doctor exactly what is going on in your digestive process. The test is accurate, and reliable without the discomfort associated with other procedures. It is done in the doctor's office, without the use of sedation. If you are actually over producing stomach acid, a natural medication, similar to the buffering enzyme that is produced by the pancreas, is available. If you are not producing enough stomach, a natural medication is also available to bring pH back into balance.

When it comes to your health and longevity, a pH diagnostic test, pH capsule test, or pH Gastrogram is one of the best investments you will ever make.

ACE Inhibitors :: Lisinopril Anxiety And Then Panic Attacks After Cough

I started this a few months back I was on it once before years ago with a different dr and my new dr has all my charts from my old dr who moved out of state. Anyway I have had this horrible cough from day 1 then I developed anxiety and then panic attacks. It makes me cough and cough I switched to taking it in the morning and I just felt out of it all day and some days I just itch. I called the pharmacy and was told told these are rare side effects well I'm allergic to just about everything medicinewise. I have bradytachycardia anyway. Then I was given the choice of a water pill which I've tried before and actually made me fall to the ground. I already have GAD and it was under control until I started this lisinopril and I'm too the point I'm just stopping I'm only on 5mg. I've also lost all interest in being intimate with my wife since day 1 of this taking this and it's strained our relationship.

ACE Inhibitors :: Lisinopril - Constant Muzzy Head With Headaches

I have been on lisinopril for 5 days now. My bp has been high for the last 2 months (again - had episodes of high bp on and off for the last 8 years !) with readings of 160/100 - got a home monitor and have been monitoring my bp for a week with average readings of 170/105 (some readings being 183/110) Doc advised me to go on to lisinopril and although my bp has dropped to an average of 150/95 I'm noticing that I have a constant 'muzzy' head with an increase in headaches, a dull ache behind my eyes and a feeling of constant heaviness in them and I get a dull ache with slight pins and needles in my left arm, hand leg and foot. I had an ecg yesterday but still waiting on results. Does this sound normal to other users of lisinopril ?

GERD (acid Reflux) :: Proton Pump Inhibitors Stopped Working?

I've taken these things for ages and I've suspected they don't really work. Three months ago my doctor put me on Lansoprazole 60mg twice a day. For two months my reflux improved then slowly it started again. I've stopped taking them, just stopped completely and I'm no different, no rebound nothing different, just my usual reflux. I try and control it with diet control, no alcohol Gaviscon and some Ranitidine.

My question is this, have PPIs stopped working for you?
