9 Cm Fibroid :: UFE If Close To Menopause
Mar 10, 2014
I'm 50 years old with a 9 cm fibroid. I don't have heavy bleeding or bladder problems. The only thing that I feel is some pressure once in awhile and my belly is bigger. Other than that I can live with this. But because is a little frustrating because I do a lot of exercise and my belly does not reduce. I not very comfortable having a surgery , taking my organs out because of something that is not bothering that much. I was considering the UFE procedure but I'm not sure if I'm a candidate since I'm close to menopause.

8 years ago I lost my darling husband and was on antidepressants for 7 years as a result.... once I came of the tabs I started having joint pain so I investigated the menopause. My GP suggested blood test which the results came back within normal range. I had a scan because I had the odd heavy period which revealed a fibroid !!
The doc now says the fibroid will shrink when I go through the menopause but my bloods suggest I'm not going through it!
ive now just had bloods for my cortisone levels to see if my joint pain is rheumatics.
i've spoken to a relative who has had the same symptoms as me which she now on HRT for and she doing great and looks fantastically well.
Don't know what to do next and I'm fed up with my lack of motivation, I'm normally a gym person......took everything I'd got to go running last night.

I had a outbreak eight years ago. Went all this time until few months ago, had another one. Last week I thought I had yeast infection. Took meds for that but isn't much better. Went to doc today, I have another break out she said. What is going on. Why am I having these two so close together? It doesn't feel the same as last one and that's why I thought it was yeast infection. I have redness and slight burning all over vagina area. She said she saw what looked like a lesion inside the opening of liba. I do have one area that is tender to the touch. I am stressing more than usual last several months. If this is a true outbreak, she did put me on 1000 valtrex, how long should I wait to have sex after I'm feeling normal down there again?

Yesterday, while working on my computer, I noticed my left eye would not close. Within an hour my lip was drooping and eating was difficult. This morning, my Dr. diagnosed Bell's Palsy and has prescribed a course of steroids. My eye is taped shut to prevent dryness and I feel like I am falling apart,--a a thought that occurs frequently as the my 65th birthday approaches. I have chronic kidney disease and want to know if there is any alternative remedy for this hell known as Bell's Palsy.

Just had a thyroid ultra done..showed a 9.7x7x7 cm nodule adjacent to the left carotid artery (I have lots of cysts which have already been biopsied)..after much discussion we did try to do biopsy, but because I have a short neck, and they were unable to tip my head back enough to do the biopsy without hitting the artery, I was sent home with instructions that I should have another ultra in 6 months..should I be worried, they said its small, but if we can't biopsy it, whats next..I'm off to see my primary doc today..they also asked if I had Hashi's, maybe I should be put on meds to try and shrink the nodule?

I have been fighting back and forth with myself whether or not I have thread worms. I've gone to great extents to disinfect my house, scrubbing down everything, changing sheets, getting rid of dust, washing loads of clothing.
I know a common symptom is "itching" at night. I've been getting great sleeps, not itchy at all in the night.
What I am worried about is sometimes I feel a wiggling sensation close to the anus. This happens once in awhile. Yesterday it happened twice, about mid day.
I've done the worm tape test, assessed my stool, and haven't seen any sign of them.
I was itchy yesterday afternoon although I currently have my period and often find that I feel a bit itchy whenever I have my period.

I've done something pretty stupid & think I've damaged my sphincter muscle. I did it by sitting on the top of a plastic soft drink bottle to see how far into my rectum I could get it. The top of the bottle was approx. 6 cms in circumference expanding to approx. 30 cms circumference about 10-15 cms from the top/at the middle of the bottle. Unfortunately I slipped as I squatted over it & sat on it, full weight (95 kg), & accidently forced it right into my rectum past the middle of the bottle causing my sphincter/anus to fully stretch about 9cms apart/ 30 cms around . Now my sphincter/anus seem unable to close properly and it's now always protrudes between my buttocks - it looks sort of like a hernia, which is all very embarrassing + hard to clean properly. Have I caused myself permanent damage ? Are there exercises I can do that will fix my over-stretched sphincter muscle ?

I recently had a yeast infection and about five days ago it went away. The next day I had sex with my boyfriend a few times and was sore for a few days. Today I just noticed a tiny hard bump on my outer labia. He is clean, and I have had unprotected sex once with an ex at a party about a month ago....he was clean when we were together and had told me earlier he hadn't slept with anyone since me. I really don't think it's herpes, but what else could it be. Nothing itches, nothing burns, nothing hurts, but there is a solid bump, I was trying to squeeze it to see if it's an ingrown hair. I don't have insurance right now otherwise I would go to the doctor, especially after the unprotected sex. Help please? What could this be?

I've been experiencing this for quite some time. the first time I noticed it was when I came home from a festival after taking ecstasy. I closed my eyes to sleep and would find myself walking through the festival as if I was there just a few hours before. i could open and close my eyes and knew the situations weren't real but they were so vivid and i had no control over what i was doing. I couldn't change the place I was or scenario or control my movements when i had my eyes closed.
I've noticed this a fair few times after taking drugs but now it has started to happen to me on nights where I'm sober (98% of the time). It could be a possibility that I stand under the speaker at work which we play music from and it is quite loud not to mention a very busy retail job in a liquor store. I come home to sleep around midnight and close my eyes and it's as if i'm in the store with no control over my actions just serving customers going about my normal shift work.
My bedroom has a few led lights that flash but I mostly cover them up with t shirts, they're from computers and such, I'm 22 years old healthy never had problems with sleep as a teenager and I've only noticed it in the last 2 years. I'm thinking it might be to do with the long exposure to loud noise since its now happening once I'm sober. when I drink alcohol I tend to pass out no problem within seconds of hitting the bed. Any ideas, theories or information on what I'm experiencing and possible causes.

I am 24 and am suffering with bell's palsy AGAIN. I first had it at the age 18 and also the opposite side which is weird? A couple of weeks ago my 1year old lb accidentally headbutted me and it was 2 days after that the numb tongue and headaches started. Since that my face has drooped as well and can't even close my eye i have 2 young babies and suffer terrible headaches. Im now waiting on an mri to see if there are any fractures on my skull as with a blow to the head can also cause bell's palsy

I am 36 years old, I am suffering from heartburn regularly with a sharp pain under my left breast close to my sternum. I have been following a low carb diet for 3 months and started cycling regularly. I experience the pain and heartburn while cycling, bending and picking stuff up all the time. I went to the doctor in December last year who had put me on proton pump meds for a month and never had any symptoms. when I finished the course it came back. I do have a bad taste in my mouth all the time and my teeth als feels rough almost.

Three weeks ago, to my great surprise, I started to bleed after one year. The 2-3 weeks preceding this, my breasts were so sore, I was bloated and I has the typical "stringy" discharge that I used to get before my period. I was really not expecting another period but the bleeding was heavy and lasted for just over a week.
I saw my doctor a few days ago and she that she is obliged to send me for an ultrasound and possible biopsy if the lining looks thick. She said she is not worried but I am freaking out.
Can anyone share a similar experience? I read on one website that it is actually possible to ovulate and have a period after you stop menstruating for a year. I have not had any spotting - just this one "period". Of course, everything I have read says how abnormal it is to bleed after menopause and now I'm scared that there is something serious going on. My ultrasound is booked for two days from now.

My periods are starting to range from 30-45 days but I've yet to skip a month. My husband and I were considering trying one last time to have another baby. Very confused

A little background first, I was originally diagnosed with fibroids around 8 years ago(age 30). I expected it as every woman in my family has had a hysterectomy. My only symptom was a slightly heavier period and the final straw was the last 2 periods that lasted around 2 weeks each. I had so many small ones that my gyno couldn't tell me how many there were so I opted for a myomectomy. Procedure went great - incision at the bikini line. Everything was fine until 4 years ago, my new gyno told me that they were growing again. I knew that this was a possibility but as I wasn't having any symptoms, I chose to leave them be. A year ago, they experienced a serious growth spirt and I began having issues extremely heavy bleeding, long periods, severe iron deficiency, tiredness, and last but not least the protruding stomach. Of course, she wanted me to have a hysterectomy and again I said no. I have/had 3 large ones an a ton of small ones. My stomach was so big that she said that I would have to be completely cut open from above the belly button down to my original incision and I believe that I looked to be 4-5 months pregnant. I couldn't stomach that so I tried a few home remedies. Black strap molasses - couldn't stomach the stuff. Castor oil packs and ACV - I didn't stick with that long enough to notice any benefit. Essaic tea and progesterone cream did help slow down the heavy cycles and made cycle-time bearable again. I tried serrapeptase enzyme for a short time but not long enough to see any benefit or even to feel as if it was helping. No I don't want any more children but I still refuse to have a hysterectomy.
In January 2016, I had an UFE. I guess that it was successful as I really haven't had a heavy cycle yet but I have a couple of questions that my male doctors can't really answer.
My stomach has gone down slightly but not enough to be noticeable. I actually measured before and after the procedure to check for any results. I know that it's vanity but I miss my flat stomach. I know that this procedure does not shrink them 100% but is there anyone 4-6 months or so out, that can provide any type of information about the long term results? Also, the leg where they "plugged up" my artery, every now and then, it still feels "weird". Is that normal?
Would trying natural remedies now actually help? I started taking serrapeptase again recently and I do workout regularly(cardio & strength training). I try to drink plenty of filtered water. My diet consists of a mix of 75% organic/mostly natural foods with the rest being the "bad" stuff. I do drink coffee and alcohol on a regular basis. I'm trying to limit dairy and am struggling for my morning latte. I do eat a bit of cheese but other than that, I'm not a big dairy fan.
I'm just looking for ways to continue to get these things out of my life without settling for a hysterectomy.
Anyone have any ideas or have you tried anything that seems helpful?

Just thought I would post an update I'm 4 weeks post op. For the 1st 3 weeks I was bleeding on and off now it seems to have stopped. So hopefully next period will be normal. My stomach is so much better as well I no longer feel bloated it's also getting flatter not much but definitely there. Still have low energy but hopeful that will go as time goes on. My leg aches a bit when I walk my dog but it's gradually getting easier. Overall though really happy and I would recommend this procedure to anyone. Much better than a Hysterectomy

I'm now 11 weeks post op. I have got my energy back so something is going right. Periods are heavy but not flooding last one was 18th March so I'm hoping the next one is gonna be at least 2 weeks off. Had a twinge of pain this morning but it went. There is definitely shrinkage on my tummy area but it gets bloated back to size when I am due a period. It's a lot better though as before the op I could not eat properly if I did my stomach would really hurt for ages after and bloat so much that I felt like I would burst. I would definitely recommend this op to anyone as its better than having a total hysterectomy where they take out the womb cervix and ovaries.
