(Age 25-34) Pregnancy :: Headaches And Sore Neck (19 Weeks)
Jan 8, 2015
I am 19 weeks and for over a week i have woke up every morning with a headache and sore neck. My headache lasts all day. I dont like to take meds especially when pregnant although i have had to take tylenol once this week. I am wondering if it is from the way i am sleeping or something. I usually sleep on my stomach but about 2 months ago i switched to sleeping on my sides with a body pillow between my knees and tucked under my lil belly. I drink lots of water and cut waaay back on coffee when trying to conceive. I am considering getting a massage if i can find someone local who treats pregnant women. Never had a massage!! Anyone have any suggestions? My stress level is the same as normal.

Does anyone have any idea what might have happened to me?
2 weeks ago I was advised to go and see a chiropractor for a shoulder problem I was having. He said he thought I had a trapped nerve in the C7 region. I said I only wanted conservative treatment so he used the adjustor (the little device that clicks and knocks agains your skin if you've seen one) down my neck to try and shift the nerve.
When I got up from the table, I felt a woosh of heat and a throbbing pain at the back of my skull. My whole head felt pressurised and my neck was very stiff. The next day i had the same feeling, as though someone had punched me in the head and feeling dizzy etc.
Now it's two weeks later and no better. The pain travels from the base of my skull and is like a stabbing behind my eye.
I should mention this is all on the left hand side. I had to go to a and e it was so bad at one point and after basic tests they said I had just strained my neck and to take naproxin. This is NOT a neck strain! The head pressure is like a dull feeling over my whole head but particularly at the C1 area and behind my eye and is constant but ranges from tolerable to unbarable.
My chiro said I must just have a sensitive neck..
Has anyone had anything like this happen to them? I'm totally open to all ideas from anyone! Could it be that he somehow moved a nerve which is now causing optical neuralgia maybe?

Had stroke 13 years ago. Have suffered anxiety ever since. Mainly dizziness. Recently came off citalopram after 8 years, started on sertraline. Never felt worse in my life......including severe diarrhea. Dr now stopped sertraline and put me on propranolol one week ago. Still feel awful and dizziness possibly worse. Will anything ever work?

This might be TMI, but my vagina has been very sore. I thought it might be a UTI, but my vagina is sore, not sharp pains. Feels like someone hit it with a bat a few weeks ago and I'm still recovering lol its only sore when I walk (well when I waddle). I'm 35 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this?

I am 42, was diagnosed with CS at 40. I take painkillers far to regularly due to neck pain and periods of constant headaches. Present one for 4 days! I sleep in a neck collar every night and have medication to help me get off to sleep. I have also been prescribed diazepam which i use when my neck movement is to restricted for me to carry out everyday duties. Luckily this is very rare. My left arm is affected the worse, not helped by nerve damage in my left hand from carpal tunnel syndrome. I don't use my left arm unless i have no option as it normally ends up with things dropped on floor due to weakness. If i rest left arm on table or passenger arm rest in car it will go numb. My consultant was excellent and extremely sympathetic when diagnosed. I have now been discharged with my pills and collar! And they say life begins at 40!

For the past year I have experienced mild to severe head and neck pain only on right side. What would cause it and can I get rid of it completely? Some things help but it always comes back. I have not had any injury to my knowledge if so it was due to possible moving wrong or something. I can relieve the pain slightly by pushing my head down and to the left with my left hand. It's really bad if I cough or sneeze. If I massage the indentation on the right of spine on neck at base of skull it helps a little. A chiropractor has helped as well as using a water pillow but the pain eventually comes back.

So i have been posting in an anxiety forum for a while, because initially my doctor diagnosed me with Generalized anxiety disorder over a fear of a brain tumor because of the following symptoms;
-constant headache/pressure that started about 3 months ago
-noticed that my pupils at times are uneven (my right one at times is about a Millimeter or more dilated than the left) this is usually most noticeable in the morning, but can catch at certain points in the day
These symptoms sent me to an urgent care first, who ordered a CT scan. The next day i had a panic attack and was so sure i had a brain tumor. I rushed to the ER where they gave me the CT scan w/o contrast, came out normal. I then met up with my GP, who after looking through the ER report, diagnosed me with GAD. The timeline makes since because in the last 7 months i have had a massive promotion at work, had my first daughter and have an increasingly stressful relationship with my wife. I also had an optometrist look in my eyes, he noticed the uneven pupils but reported that they respond normally to light, and that the discs in my eye do not show pressure and my optic nerves look good.
So i am trying to overcome my obsession with thinking having a BT. I have a neurologist appointment in 2 months, and hopefully then i can get some peace of mind. but until then i am trying to find other possible explanations for my symptoms.
Since the initial onset of this condition, i have been put on several medications to control the anxiety and help with focus;
zoloft 100mg
Klonopin 1.5 mgs a day
Trazodone 50 mg for insomnia
adderall xr 20 mg for ADHD
along with the medication, i have seen an increase in side effects/symptoms, at this point its hard to tell which is which because of all the meds;
-Headache seems to focus behind/above my left eye
-Tingling in right hand, sometimes pinky ring finger only, other times top of right hand, though this has subsided in the past few weeks
-shooting pain in left temple
-seeing stars at random intervals, usually white, but occasionally purple in my field of vision
-feel off balance/dizzy
Now i know that's a long backstory, but i feel it necessary to explain the whole situation. Now i know i have TMJ, my jaw clicks constantly, and loudly when i fully open my Jaw. I also experience lockJaw 3 or 4 times a year, usually due to stress. My jaw also gets sore sometimes when chewing. So although i have not been officially diagnosed by a doctor, it is safe to say since my mom and 2 of my siblings have been diagnosed, i have it too. Now my question is, could TMJ coupled with stress cause most or all of the problems i have listed? primarily a constant headache? If anybody has experience anything like this or has any advice for me, i would greatly appreciate any comment you can give.

On top of everything else, it would appear as though I'm having issues with my TMJ...I believe I'm a jaw clencher when I'm anxious (which is pretty much always), and I'm also a sloucher at my desk, and this has caused the muscles in my neck to become VERY tense....could this tension be causing my headaches as well? And what about the persistent off-balance feeling that I seem to have whenever the tension strikes? My head just feels so heavy...as though my poor neck can barely support it. I had a massage last night and the therapist was astonished at how tight my muscles were, especially on the sides of my neck, behind my ears, and in my shoulders....all related? Does anyone else experience this? The pain is pretty intense and over-the-counter pain relievers (like Advil) don't do a thing for it.

Had A&P repair done 16 weeks again, had a few up and downs along the way but on the whole things were going ok, that is until last week, I have started to feel sore underneath and quite uncomfortable and this morning have noticed a bit of blood, nothing major, not had a period since last February so hoping it's not that.
Has anyone else expericaned this? I did call the consultants office yesterday but was told that I have now been discharged back to my dr, so would need to see him.
