View 1 RepliesHow many weeks are you and are you still working? And what kind of work do you do? Im almost 35 weeks and I do housekeeping and still working but its getting pretty hard!
View 15 RepliesI'm about 6 weeks pregnant with my first child the last week and a half I have been vomiting continuously and haven't been able to hold any food in my system. I tried taking Zofran but it isn't working and can no longer stomach saltines and ginger ale. I'm afraid my baby isn't getting enough nutrient intake and I can't even make it through a whole shift at work. Any suggestions?
View 4 Repliesi have about 3-4 on each side of my hips and I'm currently using palmer's massage lotion for stretch marks . I put it on about once a day and they seem to still grow ... Any mommies recommend something else?

View 1 RepliesSo it's been 3 weeks since I started orlistat and slimming world. First week loss 8lb, second week loss 5lb, third week loss 3lb. I am not eating much fat at all and am wondering if the tablets are doing anything for me? I'm really disappointed with only 3 lb loss this week. I know the weight loss will slow down, however I am very overweight, doing slimming world AND orlistat, shouldn't the weight be falling off? I haven't cheated once in these three weeks! My body has gone from having around 3000 cals a day to just 1000 cals plus exercise!
View 2 Replieshave horrible insomnia. Every night I wake up at least once and have trouble falling back asleep. This has been going on for years. I have tried melatonin but I still end up waking up and am always tired in the morning. Does anyone have any advice or medicines they can recommend that will help?
View 3 RepliesI have been off work for 6 months because of physical health problems then my antidepressants stopped working. I have been referred to CBT so am waiting for an appointment.
Can you have CBT while you are working?
I am also waiting on OH for work. Would it be better to have OH first before CBT or at the same time/similar time?
I have some questions and I think I'm in the right place. My BP has been high for quite a few years. My old GP of 20+ years tried different meds but they all made me sick.Except Diovan, which I have been on for a long time but it stopped working. I am really sensitive to all sorts of stuff. He just retired and a kid fresh out of med school took his place. On my first visit, my BP was 211/90 and he freaked out and insisted I be admitted to the hospital for a few days. I refused and said lets just try a new med (or two) before we get too drastic. He agreed but wasn't happy. He gave me Amlodipine and that was the worst thing I've ever taken. I was short of breath, heart pounding, dizzy and weak and nauseous. Could barely get around. I thought I would die. It lowered my pressure to 180/90 and that was it. I stopped it after 10 days and told him I had too many side effects and it didn't work. I brought my BP monitor in and showed him. He acted like I was crazy for stopping it. Practically said it was all in my head. I said go tell that to my husband. He had to drive me here because I am too out of it to drive. He just shook his head and said OK let's try Clonidine. I said OK but only after this has cleared my system. It took 3 weeks. I'm not kidding. So I started the Clonidine 0.1 3xday. It worked good for 3 days. Pressure went down to 158/70. pulse down to 54. It's normally around 60. I was so out of it, I slept for 4-5 hours during the day and an hour after dinner. Dizzy and headache but no nausea or diarrhea. About 6 days later it stopped working. Pressure back up to 211/90 pulse back to normal (60). Blurred vision and headache. Still falling asleep all the time. Can't read, can't drive a car. Having trouble typing this actually. I sent him a fax this morning and told him it stopped working and I need to wean off. He called me right away and told me OK.. no need to wean off it. What? All I need is a rebound and my BP will be deadly (as if it isn't already) So he told me cut back to 2xday for a week and then 1x day for a few days. Then he said you need to try a Beta blocker and said metoprolol and he wants me to see a kidney specialist. Now I'm really scared and my BP is probably sky high. I'm too afraid to check it. My kidneys didn't look all that good on my last blood work so that's probably the problem. I've heard about stents but haven't found anything on these boards. I'm also worried about taking the Metoprolol in case it lowers my pulse way down. Oh, and he said there is no need to wean off that if you have too many side effects. I'm starting to think he wants me to die. I would like to force feed him some of this stuff.
A few things about me. I'm 67, have type 2 diabetes and have been on a low carb diet for 4 years. Blood sugar totally controlled. I weigh 115 lbs. I'm a nature photographer and WAS very active. I've been practically bedridden for the past 2 months on these meds and missed the entire fall bird migration, which is very upsetting. My husband took me birding last week and I fell asleep for most of the 3 hr. trip.
I am truly nervous about taking the Metoprolol. Anyone have any ideas? Also if anyone knows about kidney issues and HBP I would appreciate it. Thank you all so much for being here!
I was diagnosed with an extreme case of RLS and have been taking Requip along with Klonopin, I am up to 2 mg of Requip 3 times a day and it worked great for a while. It seems like it quit working, my legs hurt so bad I could cry, the weight of a blanket feels like a two ton weight on them, they feel like they on on fire, and and I haven't sleep for days. I just started taking gabapentin, I really don't like taking it because it makes me feel looney kind of like in a fog. Sometimes I break out into a cold sweat so bad that I am just dripping with sweat and feel like I need to lay down, and turn the fan on me. The sweats are beginning to be more often. I just don't know what else to do.....
View 14 RepliesI've been on mirt for 6 months. All going well until past 2 weeks. Now experiencing the dark lows, burst into tears over nothing, increased energy & weight loss. I strongly feel that meds are no longer working. Has anyone had this experience?

View 11 RepliesI have been taking 25mg of Sertaline for 6 months and I have been great. The past week I have felt anxious and afraid. On two seperate ocassions I felt light headed like I may pass out and weak.My questions are the following:do you think my prescription needs to be increased?Do you think my period could play a part in this?Lastly,is this a form of a panic attack?
View 3 RepliesHas anyone else had this experience? I started out on a low dose and had great results. Now I am up to 1,800mg/day and it doesn't seem to be having much effect. I am actually ok if I am not doing anything, but as soon as I use my foot, it gets so hot I could probably fry an egg on it!
My story: was in a car/bike accident and ended up with the car parked on my foot. Broke all my metatarsals in multiple places, but things were not that bad until...SURGERY. After finally starting weight bearing I found I couldn't really feel my foot, but it worked. Then I had oral surgery and my world exploded. Insane nerve pain in my face and jaw which then transferred to my foot. Anyone else here with CRPS?
Oh yes, and shooting pains up and down my thigh and calf whenever I stand or walk.
Thanks to anyone who responds. Especially interested in those who found the gabapentin working at first and then not and those who are suffering from CRPS.
I am 50 and have been taking Tibolone since May 2015. The first few months it was brilliant. I could sleep better, no hot flashes or night sweats and libido was amazing. But the last 3 months things started changing. It seems that my body got used to it and I have bad insomnia again, night sweats are back , libido gone low. I am still taking it and hopping that it will work again. I did put on a stone in weight, lots of facial hair and in my legs too. My hair roots on my head have gone really curly . Has anyone experienced that ?
View 29 RepliesMy daughter's spleen has stopped working. She has sharp pain the the middle of where the rib cages meet(not at all where the spleen is. She has a high white blood cell count. Do you know what might cause a spleen to working. She is 28 and is otherwise great health, non smoker and no drugs either. They have her on morphine and gravel, also hooked up to an IV bag as she is not eating. No blood problems in the family history. She is a vegetarian so she may be low in iron. The hospital is at a loss for what to treat her for but ill next do a CT. They have done multiple blood works but nothing yet. Thank you for reading this and hope that you know something about why her spleen has stopped working.

View 1 RepliesWell I've been suffering with panic attacks for about 2yrs now and I can honestly say it's taken a lot put of me to the point where I can't or don't want to leave my home or I can't watch tv without it being triggered I sometimes tell myself why are you anxious there is notHing to be anxious about. But I've been taking sertraline 50mg for about 5 months now and buspirone 10mg and nothing is happening here sometimes makes me wonder if these meds even help you. Any suggestions on what meds actually help for panic attacks?? I also take lorazepam when needed but sometimes I have to take it everyday
View 1 RepliesI am 52 yrs old, I currently have 5 stents placed over the past 5 years. I still suffer angina a lot. Goes in bouts, sometimes numerous times a day and some days not at all. Monday morning I was woken at 3 am with bad chest pain. I laid there for a few minutes to see if it would ease. Finally got up and took a nitro. It didn't help, over the next 3 hours I took 7 nitro and chewed 3 baby aspirin, all to no avail. Off to the ER, EKG was fine, blood work showed no heart attack, but they wheeled me into the cath lab again. My cardiologist performed the procedure and found nothing out of sorts. I just don't know what to do, I take a ton of drugs, am diabetic also, but still suffer chest pain much too often. Am so limited on what I can do physically because of this.
