My 2007 Toyota Solara convertible has been perfect...and now suddenly the convertible back window is leaking. My husband advised me not to drive it today due to the expected rain. OOPS. I went out, and when I made a stop, I looked at the back window and realized the bottom window (glass/plastic?) had completely separated from the fabric top. The top itself is in perfect condition.

I have read to stay away from the 06 model because Pontiac did not consider the design changes that a convertible hard top would place on the body structure of the car, so the body will "bend". Is this true of the 07s-09s? Is there a better year for this car?
View 5 RepliesI've got a 2001 Toyota Solara, and the driver's side power window has stopped working (in the "up") position. Other windows and powered items in the car work, and there's no sound when I hit the electric switch. From a rough inspection of the apparatus, I don't think that the regulator itself is shot. I'd love to repair this myself...but for this car it will be way more expensive to buy the regulator/motor unit than just the motor online.

I have lots of white smoke at start up. Big time oil consumption. My wife drives car 14 mile round trip each day. Each night, I go out late and start car to burn off oil. There is no smoke in the morning when I do this.
People here have suggested the problem is valve stem seals. Not something I should try to fix myself. I did change the pcv valve.
I took car to mechanic. Told him it might be valve stems. He said he'd have to do the heads. Sounded like it would be expensive.
I have a 2007 Toyota Solara SLE Convertible. Three of my wheels are bent due to hitting various potholes over the past year as well as hitting a curb. I want to replace these wheels with other wheels of the exact same size so that I can use the tires that I already have (since I just bought them) and so that they do not rub on any other part of the wheel well or hub. I have concluded that the size is 17" x 7", that they 5 lug nuts at 114.5 mm. However, I cannot determine how to measure the offset. I have read multiple threads about which offset they are (some say 45 and others say 50). I just need a definitive answer so that I can replace them seamlessly. Its a BUMPY ride right now.

I was cleaning my car yesterday and started scrubbing the middle console with a wet rag which has a carpeted bottom, I noticed light brown stuff kept coming up and thought I had spilled something in there. Fast forward to today, I had my carpets shampooed and they didn't dry them well, so I started wiping things down with a towel, when I wiped under the backside of my passenger seat, more brown liquid appeared, this time a lot and more concentrated. It is dark brown in color. I'm kind of freaking out, as everything online points to a leaking heater core. Which would mean I've been breathing in coolant.

All of the sudden my check engine light came on and the car lost all power. I had the car towed home and had a mechanic look at it he put his scanner on it and I'm not sure what codes if any came up but he decided it was the ECM so he found a used one with a warranty and ordered it, he put it in and it did the same thing it turns over but wont start. What could it be ?

I have seen cheaper but I don't want grey. I love black so i'm jammed.
Going to replace motor mounts. Foot on brake and placed in gear engine flexes back about 2". Doesn't seem to flex side to side or forward. Replaced dog bone the metal in the middle of the bushing had a visible crack. Still flexes. I am confused about replacing them. Should I replace all including the 2 rear mounts? This is what I have read in many posts and been told by a trans shop. Can I just replace the front and dog bone? Parts guy told me that was all that I needed to do if it wasn't flexing side to side. These things are expensive 170- ea for oems so if I don't have to replace the rear I won't. However I don't want to trash the new ones cause I didn't replace them all.

It is definitely a leak around my back window, passenger corner. I have personally watched water run in and not run out the back, but in my cab. My Issue is that I cannot find any info as to how to lower my back seats to access the screws required to remove the window.
My truck is a 2011 XLT Supercrew/Cab, whichever is 2 door. Full backrest and 60/40 seat split. below is a picture of my seat and behind the headrests where people say to dig around for a "pin" to pull up and then lower the seat, but it appears I don't have that option.

I have 2007 Camry base model 4 cyl. I went into the grocery store with my wife and kids and returned to car with no power. I turn the key and nothing happens. The dome light can turn on but its weak. the only dash lights that come on are the oil light and the key with the car picture.
I bought a new battery for it and still nothing. I had it towed to my house and currently trying to find as much info as possible on it. So again I turn the key, no lights on the dash except for oil for a second... then nothing no turning over, no clicking..
My thoughts are cable wires or fuses?
The sunshade will go up when you push button but will not go back down when put in reverse or pushing the button. The control arms move about 2-3 inches and stops.
View 3 RepliesI have a 98 Celica GT convertible that had suddenly lost fifth gear, and what I mean by loosing fifth gear is not that it pops out of fifth or that it will not go into fifth, the gear shift lever goes into the fifth gear position just fine and stays in that position, yet the car responds as if it is in neutral. This is what happened while driving home recently. The first time this happened was within a week or so of having my clutch replaced, so I took it back to the mechanic that replaced my clutch.
Upon investigation he found that the nut that holds fifth gear in was loose. He tightened this nut and it fixed the problem for awhile. This was now over two years ago, and to make a long story short, I eventually ended up having to replace that transmission with another used transmission from a salvage yard. The current transmission has been in the vehicle just over a year and a half with no problems until now. I am getting this same problem again, with no fifth gear.
I recently started to have problem with my back window panel where large speakers at. It makes a lot of noise whenever even the slightest base is on.When I push it down it stops. I never put anything there. My assumption is that is finally shrunk during hot summer days and now loos and there for makes that noise.

I tried fixing it with putty, which seemed to have worked until the weather became milder again and gasoline started dripping again. Does this mean I should be okay through the winter and reconsider my options only when spring comes around again?
