My husband has water on the rear floor board on the passenger side of the car when it rains. This happens if we drive or park the car during a heavy rain.
View 3 RepliesWe have had 6-8 inches of rain in the last month. the last several days I have notice a lot of water in the passenger side floorboard as well as behind the seat. the headliner around the sunroof is also saturated on that side of the car. After several hours investigating and reading posts on this forum it is safe to say that the drain on that side is clogged. I am a new VW owner and am ignorant as to where the drains are at??? also, how to "rod" or unclog the drain line that runs down a or c pillar?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 dodge caravan that leaks water on the passenger side floor board when the a.c is on. I have had it to three mechanics and each has said they fixed it by cleaning the tube that on the left side of the firewall. one even put a sealer around the tube and firewall saying it was leaking through the factory sealant. but like old faithful the van leaks still what can I do?
View 2 RepliesHave a 05 Explorer and every time it rains, water gets in and soaks the front passenger side floor. It only happens after it rains and happens even if it is not driven. I am pretty sure there is a drain line plugged up someplace from the cowl, just not sure where it is. The toe kick seems to stay dry but the floor gets soaked.
View 4 RepliesI just purchased my daughter a used 2006 Prius and we found water in the rear right passenger floor board this morning. We have only had the car 3 days. There are on leaks that I could find inside the car. I looked in the tire well and water was there and also near the 12Volt battery also. The brownish/yellow sealant in the tire well that goes around the bottom is also in my 2010 Prius but I noticed that my daughters 2006 Prius the sealant or what I believe to be bodyflex is cracked. I am going to have a body person look and see if he agrees with me that this bodyflex is cracked.

We have tried to recreate the problem with a hose and had no luck. Where can the water be coming in ? Not the front windows or sunroof as far as I can tell.
View 6 RepliesI have an 08 Accent hatchback, no sunroof. I am having water soaking the passenger floor board and getting into the heater fan. If I park on a side hill it actually drips out of the bottom of the fan motor, and you can hear it being sprayed inside it when going around a corner. Checked the windshield - seal is good, took off the cowling under it and everything was dry - including the filter for the fresh air, so it doesn't appear to be coming down through there. I even poured about 8 gallons of water down the windshield and into the run-off channel at the bottom of the windshield and nothing seemed to get into the fan or leak into car, however, by the time I drove it home 4 hours later, it was in the fan again. Is there some other way to for it to getting to the fan? It's not coming from the door side, as it is usually dry on that side when it first starts getting wet, but rather it stars from the left of the passenger foot well.

I cleaned it up thinking the sunroof may not have been closed all the way at the dealership when they washed it. I drove it today in the rain and the front passenger side is wet again next to the console and near the seat. Where are the drains located at?
View 8 RepliesA couple of days ago, my wife noticed that the floor mat on the rear passenger side of her car was sopping wet. She thought perhaps a water bottle must have spilled or leaked, so she soaked up the water and dried out the mat. Today, the mat was wet again with about an inch of water accumulating only on the passenger side of the rear floor.
We have had no significant rain for more than two weeks; in fact, it's been sunny and hot with temps in the 90s. There is no water on the front floor or the rear driver's side floor. Due to the heat, we have run the AC, but it is working fine with no apparent leaks. There is no apparent leaking in the trunk or underneath the car. There are no apparent leaks from the radiator or hoses. Everything is working fine, except for the water on the rear passenger side floor. We can't figure out the source of the water.
The car is a 2006 4-door Toyota Camry LE with 199K miles on it.
For some strange reason I'm getting water under the passenger side carpet, but it only seems to be happening after it rains. I don't know where it's coming from, but it seems to be right in front of the front passenger seat. I've only had the car for a month and would like to get this fixed..

Its just at idle, i mean i can give it a little rev, and it doesn't seem to get worse so that eliminates bottom end or head... so???? Ive read some post on here that say... its nothing... just ignore it... but idk.
Like I said its just at idle and it sounds like its coming from the pass floorboard.... I left it running and popped the hood and couldn't hear it.
Get water in trunk every time it rains. I think it gets in through the tail light cause the side has a dent.

I have cleaned out the drain behind the front wheel and used a heavy gauge plastic mono line to clean out the drain for the moon roof. Unfortunately it still becomes wet. My next area to check is the drain from the area at the bottom of the windshield. How that can be done? 2000 Camry XL....

So our Passat seems to have developed a leak from somewhere. Even while parked, water seems to pool on the rear passenger floor. The passenger front and driver's side front and rear are both dry. Does this sound like it could possibly be one of the sunroof drains being clogged? Only reason I'm skeptical is because the front floor is perfectly dry. I haven't pulled it up yet, but the rear floor is literally "squishy" with water.
Again this happens when the car is parked, so it doesn't seem like it has anything to do with the AC system. I'm unsure about the cabin air filter, because if that were the culprit I would think the front would be wet too.
My only car is a 2002 passat 1.8 .
I've had a water leak in the passenger side floor. This started when my sound system was installed. So I've been dealing with it. Vacuuming out the water and driving. Recently A LOT of water leaked in. Now the car won't start and the doors won't lock. I read about this issue before. What to do. The dealer wants to charge me $210 just to look at it and hook it to a machine. Then if the issue runs me more than a few hundred. That's just over budget. I need to fix this issue.
Is there a known issue with water getting into the passenger side(floor) of the Passat sedans? Is the leak due to the sunroof?

View 11 RepliesJust noticed the passenger side floor has water frozen on carpet. There is no evidence of water on the sides or from the dash area. I reached under the car and I can see 2 holes, one of them is plugged with a rubber grommet/plug and the other I can stick my finger way up into it. My wife has been driving this in the rain a couple days last week.
Is that a possible source for the water getting in? Can I order a replacement plug if it fell out?
I just did read something about a "sealing cover" and I matched against the driver side and it does appear to be missing. Seems to be a round 40mm plug. I measured the driver side and plug is 40mm and the hole is more like 25mm. Is this the right part?
