Is there an easy way to drain all the gas out of the gas tank of a 2009 Toyota Camry Sedan, LE automatic transmission. Is there a drain plug or anything like that? I've never done anything like this so I'm hoping there is a relatively easy way to do it.

I am planning to drain the fuel tank. I see one i hope fuel line in the hood which I plan to open using a wrench and drain the Fuel tank. Is that right?
Also do I need to do any other things immediately? I was thinking may be I will change fuel filter also.
When I stop the car, sloshing noise come from back of 2006 Toyota Camry after filling full tank of gas. Tried couple times, I can still hear the noise feels like liquid sloshing noise coming from fuel tank. Even after I parked the car, tried to push the back side of my 2006 Toyota Camry, sounds like the fuel is sloshing from the tank. Is it normal? I never heard about this before, maybe I didn't notice. It was not loud but audible.
View 7 RepliesI have a 85 e-250 351 4 barrel with two tanks. My tank selector switch was bad, and I have no clue how long the gas has been in my front tank, but it is very bad. I have tried to siphon it out, but for some reason it wouldn't start flowing, and I tried to drain it from behind the fuel tank selector valve, but it wouldn't flow. I figure i need to pump it out, so my question is what is the best method to pump out 25 gallons of bad gas?

Is there a type or recommended best oil to use? I was thinking of just getting toyota factory 75w-90 gear oil and putting it back in. Is the process for drain / change the same as the corolla because I saw a DIY for the 5 speed corolla trans.

Google search revealed various answers - located on transmission pan - located on transmission itself. Looking for a picture of where it's located for a 10th gen Corolla?
View 12 Repliescheck engine light came on. Had the code checked and its the code that comes on whhen you dont tighten your cap. Checked fuel cap and the person noticed that the little spring loaded door that is usually pushed open by the fuel nozzle is gone. So my question is three fold:
1) will this door that is now in my gas tank hurt my car?
2) will this lack of door keep tripping this error code? i live in the Milwaukee area where they check emissions so i cant have that
3) how much is this going to be to fix? I am guessing they can just replace the door or the top part of the fueling system where I put the nozzle in.
I have been a happy 2009 Prius owner for 2 weeks now but am a bit concerned with the fuel capacity I have been experiencing.
The first tank I went to fill-up when there were three blips left on the fuel guage and the tank only took 5.7 gallons. I wrote this off as I did not know how much gas was in the tank when purchased (the guage was on full). The mileage was around 250 miles.
Today I had to stop again for gas. There were 3 blips left on the guage and the tank again only took 5.4 gallons. I am not concerned about the MPG, but with the tank only taking around 5 gallons.
I have a '96 Camry and the gas tank has been leaking. I tried fixing it with putty, which seemed to have worked until the weather became milder again and gasoline started dripping again. Does this mean I should be okay through the winter and reconsider my options only when spring comes around again?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2009 Sonata SE 3.3 with about 35,000miles. I am the second owner.
I believe that my gas gauge or the sending unit in the tank is bad. The gauge will show empty when the tank has fuel and then it will sometimes read normal.
Background: My 02 camry (155k) ran great but I noticed grease/oil on the front of the engine so I had a local mechanic take a look. He replaced the front valve cover gasket, timing belt, and while he was in there, the water pump. He made me take it to the dealer to reset/recalibrate the stability control sensor because after disconnecting the battery to perform the work my "VSC", "trac off" and check engine lights were on. I got it back along with a list of work they thought I needed (replace the rear valve cover gasket, dog bone engine mount, and a bunch of bs I don't need).
Problem: Quickly my check engine light is back on. I fill up gas and I can't get it to turn over. The owner of the shop gets it to turn over by gassing it a bunch while turning the key. My mechanic later tells me the check engine light is due to a bum gas cap. He replaces that and the dog bone mount. Next day check engine is back on AND the next time I get gas the same thing happens - it won't turn over until I gas it, then it turns over and stalls a few times until I really gas it and it turns over and takes. Every other time I try to start the car it turns over first try. Both times I filled up I wasn't close to running out of gas or anything. I don't think the gas cap or the fuel injectors went bad coincidentally the same day the dude had his hands in the engine.
I just filled up my gas tank and when I turned on my car the gas light turned on and the needle read empty. But before I put gas, the gas light wasn't on yet and. Was at 1/4 of a tank. Maybe I filled it up too much and it'll resolve itself after the gas goes down?
It's a 10.5 if it matters.
Plugged in my SCT when I got home, P1450 code. "Unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum" I did a search here but nothing in the 09-up section.

I'm still googling but it seems I need to start by cleaning out the lines and evap which I'm not sure where its located. I'm going to get on a creeper tomorrow morning and have a peek but just wanted to see if any of my brothers ( or sisters ) here have had this issue. I just turned 35K miles.
Hearing a sloshing scraping thumping sound coming from their 36 gallon tank under hard braking accelerating? It's loudest when the tank is between 200 and 150 miles to empty, I checked the spare tire and its tight, haven't had a chance to crawl under and look around yet though, I think something inside came loose. 2013 XLT.

When I fill my gas tank, start the car, the fuel gauge pointer doesn't go completely into the "F" mark, see picture; I'll even wait after driving a few miles if the pointer will try to go past the "F" mark, but it won't. Could it be the gauge be faulty or the sending unit in the gas tank that's causing the gauge to read inaccurately?

View 2 RepliesI have an 1979 F150, 351 V8, only 104,000 miles. Been driving it sporadically, had it serviced over the years, been driving it until recently. At least three new batteries have drained to dead in short amounts of time. No one seems to be able to pinpoint the trouble. It has two gas tanks--the original tank overflows out the filler cap in hot weather, even when mostly empty. I must find this trouble. Again--it's been seen by several repair shops, but no one has fixed the problem.

View 1 RepliesMy 94 Camry 4 cyl fuel gauge seems to be broke. It always shows empty. The "fuel warning" light doesn't come on however. The last time it worked, I had about 1/2 tank and filled it up. It took several minutes for the gauge to creep up to full. It worked for a few days and then when i started the car this evening, the gauge showed empty and tays on empty.
What is the most likely issue here? I've read that it could be the sending unit, bad wiring or the gauge itself. All other dashboard gauges are working fine.
