View 2 RepliesI have a 2002 Nissan Sentra. In Nov. 2010 had inspection done and replaced upper radiator hose at that time. Right after that, I had no heat and the temperature gauge would go up to hot but then come right back down. Brought it back to mechanic, changed thermostat and both things ok only part way home. Started riding with coworker only driving to her house 7 miles away and still temperature gauge up and down, stopped driving completely in Feb. Just brought it to dealer who replaced thermostat and worked fine all the way home and then started all over again the next day. Seems to happen faster at higher speed but will eventually do it in any driving conditions. Today service engine soon light came on. Obviously not thermostat problem. Could it be water pump? Dealer did pressure test and that came back fine so no head gasket problem although don't have a lot of faith in that since problem still exists and they thought thermostat would fix it.
View 19 RepliesI've owned this Toyota Camry 2004 LE for two years now and this issue started couple of weeks ago , I the tempreture gague is always at cold , mean less than 25% . where it used to be always in the middle and at the 50% right in the middle . heat still works , have not tried AC yet , it is still in the 20-30s here in Minnesota . I am suspecting maybe a thermostat or some other heating cooling sensor somewhere .
View 5 RepliesI have a 2002 camry that stalls out while driving. The car stalls when engine is warmed up and the car is running at appropriate temperature. When this occurs no "check engine lights" stay on and the car re-starts after 15-20 minutes and runs just fine. I had the car looked at by a Toyota dealer and another independent shop and they where unable to pull any codes from the computer module. The car is up to schedule with routine maintenance items. The car is garage kept and I go to the same gas station each fill up.
View 2 RepliesThe vents in my 2002 Prius are starting to become problematic. When I turn on the heat, the air is not coming out. When I hit the glove compartment, the air starts to come out, but it is very low and stops after a minute or two. I just want to know if the blower motor is dying, and how to replace it, if it is really the blower.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2006 Toyota Camry SE with about 6,xxx miles on it. Called up the dealership I bought it from and they are going to charge me an arm n log to see what is going on.
The issue is there is no air blowing from Lo-High, all lights work except A/C, so i'm guessing its not the AC/Heat control.
This is what I've done so far in DYI:
1. replaced Blower motor Resistor.
2. Check the Fuse underneath the steering wheel. (Still Good)
this is what I'm going to do next:
1. Buy A/C relay $75+ tax (dealer)
2. Change Blower Motor $175+ tax (dealer)
I recently moved from TX to MN and it's getting cold enough to need heat in my car. Well I've turned it on and nothing but cold air comes out. I've check my coolant level and it was getting close to low, so I added more and I've checked the fuses and they look good. So, what it could be or how i can fix it?
View 14 RepliesThe door in the dash wont go to defrost. It just quit today. I assume its vacuum controlled. What do i need to do to fix it? I thought about pulling the dash vent where i can reach in there n have a look but it doesnt want to come out. 1992 Toyota Camry....

View 11 RepliesI cannot get the heater to move heat to the floor in my 02 Camry LE I-4? All other modes seem to function just fine.
View 1 RepliesMy wife has a 02 Solara V6. It has been a cold spring and now it has warmed up and in the 80's and a problem has reared its head. Engine runs fine, will warm up normally and while driving will stay at a normal halfway temp.
Problem is it will heat up at idle, say at a light. The fans run, but half assed. They'll kick in with the AC on and the temps will drop, but then they switch off to half assed speed again. I will probably take a multimeter and measure the voltage at each fan plug when they are running slow.
The weird part is both fans go full bore when the AC is on and then slow after about 4-5 mins.
When I turn the control to heat the AC compressor kicks in. If turned to vent it does not kick in. Was this just a design flaw.

I just noticed that every time I turn the temperature knob, there is a small buzz/hiss noise come from the center console. the more you turn the knob, the noise last longer, however, the sound disappear soon once you stop turning the knob.I tested this when the car is parked with power on but engine is not running, this noise is also noticeable in City drive if you audio is off.
I did some research and know that it is from the Heat blend door actuator/Air mix door motor. When you change the temperature, the motor is going to change the direction of the heat blend door.
My questions is : Is this noise noticeable on every Camry?
I have an 08 camry v6, from time to time i've noticed when i turn the temp knob from cool to hot it would blow cool. Now it's happening all the time no heat at all just blows cool air when heat is on in all modes.
View 2 Replies02 Camry with 202k. Recently my car has been blowing cold air only when it's on heat. Then it will start to overheat causing me to stop and pull over and I see little smoke come out. Also it has been leaking antifreeze and when I make sharp turns or come to a stop I can hear water or something behind the dash...
View 5 RepliesWhy the temperature in the car goes from sometimes not nearly warm enough to feel like your face is baking in the oven? Michigan cold weather...BTW. How to get this more stable....
View 9 RepliesThis is a 2004 RX330. Unable to adjust temperature on driver side.
Symptoms - may appear to be defective heat or defective A/C on driver side only (depending on the position of the mix damper).
Solution -- replace mixer damper assembly servo (this controls the mix of hot and cold air on the driver side). This is a dual climate control, so each side has dedicated dampers.
So, if unable to change "where" the air coming out, the damper with the red arrow would require replacement.
If unable to control the temperature, the damper with the blue arrow would require replacement.
I will post pictures, after I repair my own. I'll be replacing the damper with the blue arrow.
This photo was taken with my feet on the drivers head-rest and my head pressing the accelerator.
Our 2005 Sonata GLS with 100,000 miles has a digitally controlled system for the heater & A/C. For more than 2 years the only way to get heat was to raise the temperature up into the 85 - 90 degree range. Now we must put it all the way up to 90. When we do, the heat is extreme.
View 1 RepliesI am losing heat intermittently and temperature gauge spikes out intermittently. Got down to intake gasket and it is visibly bad but wonder if i should keep going to replace head gasket?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2010 chevy silverado. No matter where I turn the blower selector switch, it always comes out of the vents. Also no matter where I turn the temperature selector knob, it's always cold. It's a company truck that I can't get fixed soon because of downtime and I'm not supposed to take it to get fixed on my own time. It was 37 degrees this morning on my drive into work.
View 4 RepliesMy 2005 Honda Civic has just started doling out heat when it feels like it regardless of where I set the dial. It seem that when I am accelerating or applying gas, heat is available but when I am stopped at a light or coasting downhill, cold air is all that is available. Is this a thermostat issue or something more dire?
