Every time it rains the carpet is very wet by the left drivers foot. I have cleaned out the drain behind the front wheel and used a heavy gauge plastic mono line to clean out the drain for the moon roof. Unfortunately it still becomes wet. My next area to check is the drain from the area at the bottom of the windshield. How that can be done? 2000 Camry XL....

View 14 RepliesMy VW mechanic and I have been working on and off over the past year to try and determine why my front passenger compartment gets flooded with water every time it rains. I've done some research determined it's not my sunroof drains (already clipped long ago) and it's nothing inside my engine bay (battery tray, underneath master cylinder). Those drains are clear.
Last night, we had another soaker and my front passenger compartment was more flooded than I've ever seen it. It looked like somebody dumped an entire bottle of water in there. However, this morning I noticed something different. I noticed a few drops of water leading down from just beneath the door speaker and into the front passenger carpet. I've circled on the following photo where I saw the drops of water:
When I opened the front passenger door, some water had built up and splashed out. I showed my mechanic this and he looked at my door. He used a screwdriver and started poking around up inside the drainage holes. 3-4 tiny pieces of broken glass fell out. My car had been broken into in 2009 and I had my front passenger door window replaced. These were the remnants of the old broken windshield. He kept poking around and knocking the door to try to get any other loose impediments out. Not much more than those 3-4 tiny pieces came out, though.
He suspected the door was filling up with water and overflowing into my car. I'm not sure if those few pieces could have caused that much water to back up. So I'm posting here to make sure I've covered all my bases. Could it possibly be anything else? We've checked the rest of the car out again in the usual suspect places (under the hood, beneath the car) and couldn't find anything. This leak is mind-boggling.

My husband has water on the rear floor board on the passenger side of the car when it rains. This happens if we drive or park the car during a heavy rain.

When this happens it sounds like gears are changing or like when you run out of gas, (the car is automatic and the gas tank full). After this happens the car speeds up again.
View 8 Replies93 k1500 350 has a water leak in the passenger footwell. Happens when it rains haven't had the truck long enough too test if a/c also causes leak. I checked the condensate drain line at the engine firewall. There was some gunk in it which I blew out but did not solve problem.
I'm able to reproduce leak by running a hose into the exterior cowl openings as if it were raining. As you can see in the pic the leak develops behind the blower motor. How to fix this leak??

I recently purchased a brand new 2016 Legacy, and the moon roof leaks every time it rains. Water drips in at the back edge of the moon roof into a plastic tray that is supposedly part of the drainage system. I have had the moon roof replaced and the same issue still occurs. The dealership now says that the moon roof and drainage system are working as designed. I have a hard time believing that Subaru designed the moon roof to leak. However, the service manager at the dealership did show me another 2016 Legacy on the lot that had the same leak. I contacted Subaru regarding this issue and was told that they trust their service department's analysis of this issue.

My current problem is that every time I run the A/C for an extended period of time water soaks my driver's side front floorboard, with a little bit (but not much) making the passenger side floorboard damp. A friend who is a pretty decent mechanic told me my heater core was busted and causing the water leak, so we bypassed the heater core. The next time I ran the A/C for over two hours, the water came back. I'm 90% sure the actual cause of the water leak is my A/C drain being clogged. What can I do to fix it? Also, why does this happen only on long trips?
View 5 RepliesI went in for an oil change and told them to visually inspect the car for a water leak. There was another phaeton in the shop with a water problem that was costing the customer thousands so I thought they might be able to see a red flag. I get the car back and they told me they blew air through the sunroof vents.
I've had the passenger foot well carpet up to monitor the floor to see if water has been leaking since I sealed around a couple batter terminal points that went through the firewall, and it had been dry.
But I had a feeling blowing that air through the vents might have dislodged the hose from the connector, so I put some water through the sunroof vent, and it totally started pouring into the footwell. It had NEVER done that when pouring water through the sunroof vent when I was diagnosing it before.
I feel like the dealer made the problem worse by blowing air down there, and now the dash is probably going to have to come out, and i'm assuming they will make me pay for it.
I noticed a small leak of water dripping along carpet next to left foot of passenger side carpet?? The air conditioning was on on a hot day... is this condensation or a leak from outside as now the cars kinda smells .
View 6 RepliesAfter going through a 1996 avalon, 2003 sequoia, 2004 tundra, 2004 highlander, 1978 celica, and a 1990 4runner i decided to buy myself a beautiful new 2011 camry LE.
I have had the car now for under 6 months i've put under 10k miles on it.
Already the front left strut has been replaced. Right rear strut has been replaced.
Now the front left strut needs replacing less than 2000 miles later again!
The car is pretty fun to drive but seriously...every time it rains i have to replace my suspension. it starts creaking and clunking and rattling literally every time it rains.
Every time it as rained. my car goes to the dealership and gets outfitted for new strut somewhere! I don't know why my car is giving me these kind of issues. its not very toyota like.
So as the title says the sunroof in my 2000 Jetta is leaking. I've taken down a, b, and c pillars, and the headliner. Poured water in the drain tray and no noticeable leak.. however when I spray it with the hose, the water overflows over the drain tray at the drain ends and into the car like Niagara falls. I've check all the connections, pinched open the plugs. I've already replaced the sunroof seal, which was noticeably shrunken. The new one fits snug all around but I'm still getting the leak. The water (from what i can tell) over flows the tray, runs down the headliner to the drivers side C pillar and then down into the trunk where the cd changer / safety kit was. I usually park uphill, and the one time I parked down hill and sprayed it with the hose the water was "Niagara falling" into my passenger seat.
View 4 RepliesI have a Toyota Aygo which leaks water into the passenger side foot space, so that when it rains, about 2 inches of water collects where the passengers feet would be.
It's been in to the dealer three times to fix, they replace the door seals but it seems to me that the rain isn't coming in via the door or window, but up through the floor somehow, ie seems to come up through the carpet suggesting it's coming in from somewhere else!
My son just changed my oil, radiator fluid & transmission fluid on my 2007 Prius with 125,000 miles. Now it makes a fairly quiet, intermittent pumping or quiet growling/humming noise. A vibration can be felt near the driver's left foot when the noise is heard. The noise starts about a minute or two after starting the car & goes on & off, about every 30 seconds, for the entire time the car is running or driving. The car seems to drive normally, although I've only driven it a few miles, a few times. The only unusual dash light is the "maintenance required" indicator which has been on since before the fluid changes.
View 12 RepliesThe carpeted footrest on the left driver's side of my C has a bubbled/raised area on the left side, which causes my foot to roll inward uncomfortably. It feels wrong but it doesn't really look wrong, so I don't want to waste a trip over to the dealership if the area was just poorly designed. Do footrest accommodates the whole foot comfortably or if there is a raised area under the pinky toes? I'll see if I can get a picture.

View 11 RepliesI have a 1997 Camry that has developed a leak somewhere. When it rains the floorboard on the passenger side is soaked, and it has spread to the back seat now. We have tried to recreate the problem with a hose and had no luck. Where can the water be coming in ? Not the front windows or sunroof as far as I can tell.
View 6 RepliesThe a/c compressor is the nearest thing to the medium slow leak. It's up against the left upper side of the oil pan, near the timing belt cover. It appears red on the oil pan but more yellow color on the ground. There are no power steering hoses and the pwr steering pump is further back (and tho a bit wet, it's not leaking) I drove 6-8 mile this morning w no a/c to see if it would still leak...and it did. The power steering resevoir doesn't seem to be going down. Whata ya recon ? bad compressor ?
