My 04 navigation unit started coding check DVD and error; I took it to my dealer who advised that the Unit is defective and is causing a ridge to form on the control disk. Dealer advised to call the Toyota 800 number due to my 36K warranty is gone. Called toyota and they referred me back to my dealer who is giving me the stall.

First we thought it was missing the DVD then we discovered the DVD port in the truck and through some trial and error got the DVD (#U52) out. We are proceeding with the logic that the DVD is bad.

View 13 RepliesI own a 06 limited and my Check engine along with VSC lights came on. Autozone read the code and it is a P2195 error. According to AZ the O2 sensor cost $500, according to websites the fix is O2 sensor and manifold ~$1800. I don't have that much money. The dealer told me that it was ok to drive with warning lights on. I checked the MAF sensor and it is clean. The O2 sensor or A/F sensor Stuck Lean - bank 1 sensor 1. If I want to do the work myself, any diagrams, picts, instructions etc......
View 8 RepliesI try to do my own maintenance. I have a 2006 Avalon Limited. This has happened twice recently, using cruise it has kicked off and gives me the VSC light and the check engine light and cruise error, when running codes I get the following P0138 & P2195 both have to do with the O2 sensor on bank 1, and P1578 & P1201 which are brake malfunction. I have been searching the Internet for any information on what could be causing my issue with no luck. I have a 3000 mile trip and need to figure this out soon.
View 14 RepliesI have a CEL on my 2007 Avalon so I decided to take it to Autozone to get a scan. Error code P0015 was returned. This code has to do with B Camshaft Position, Timing Over Retarded (Bank 1). I've done a little research and I've read that this could possibly from a dirty screen on the Oil Control Valve, the OCV itself, or the Cam Position Sensor. Before replacing parts, what I would like to do first is to check/clean the screen on the OCV. Secondly, I would like to swap the Cam Position Sensor to a different bank and see if the other bank throws an error. If the other bank throws an error, then I know the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. With this said, I am having trouble locating the OCV and CPS. Where the valve and sensor is located. A diagram would be useful.
View 14 RepliesI have an '05 I bought 3 years ago and any time it sits outside and gets rained on, the VSC/check engine light comes on when I start it and it doesn't go away for 2-3 days at a time. The frustrating part is that any time this happens, I get the E3 error with the cruise control even though there's not a drop of water to be found anywhere.

View 9 RepliesRecently i changed my alternator, then all of sudden when i drive for about 15 mins it starts to overheat i pull over by a shop. And the guy let my car cool off, vacuumed pumped the air out and added water , before i could get hm , in overheated again , i let the car cool off, tried to re burp my car to no avail a diy, turned the car, my drive way is slated so that was an advantage, turned the heater on full blast but a funnel in and started to add coolant, frustrated for over 30,45 mins still nothing so i came in to toyota for them to find the problem first thing the next morning been here since 8.30 now its 12.45.. so they burped the system ,clean my ac system, oil change etc... so I leave excited, i get down the street and it overheats again ! I turn around and bring it back with the needle past the hot red line. No smoke or leaking anywhere....

View 11 RepliesInstalled last week, LED no fog. Everything worked great but I had the bulb out error. Yesterday, I had the coding done and I now have an issue. Worked fine when I left the dealer and this morning I have a "Check Right Rear Light" warning. The right rear is no longer lit. Back up light works, tail light does not. I think the dealer changed byte 18 to 21 but also changed the setting from NA to something else... maybe ROW.
View 9 RepliesThe "Check Engine Light" is on. When I brought it in for the annual inspection (NY), the diagnosis was "lean fuel mixture". The fuel filter was replaced (the car has over 110,000 miles on it), and some adjustments were made in the computer, or the sensors (I don't remember which). It was found that one adjustment was effective at low speeds, and the other one was necessary for 2000 RPM. A valve cover gasket was replaced because of an oil leak, but I don't see how this could have contributed to the problem. I drove it for about 10 miles and the light went on again. What the cause might be?
View 5 RepliesOn occasion the navigation unit will not let me enter a new address. I have the car turned on, in park, and the screen has the address option grayed out. It will let me enter previous destinations but not new addresses. This has been occurring more frequently recently. If I drive for a half hour or so,the address then becomes available again (sometimes it does not). It is not the disk, I have tried a new one with the same results.

I have a 2000 Toyota Sienna that has had a check engine light for a while. The light would come at times, and go away at others, with prolonged intervals (days, weeks, months) with or without the light.
Suddenly it started losing power, especially on hills (even a small hill). The codes I read are (I include code interpretations from internet search):
P0300: Random or multiple misfire.
P0301: Cylinder 1 misfire.
P0304: Cylinder 4 misfire.
P1130: Air fuel sensor
P1150: I have not found a problem definition for this code.
Might these codes be indicative of a particular problem, or is each problem more likely a problem with its own cause?
As I was driving to work this morning, I noted that the map does not display on my center unit... no error messages, just a gray screen. Interestingly, the navigation functions seem to work just fine, just no map display.
I just had the KESSY unit replaced in my car last week. I don't know if that is related to my new problem, but thought I would mention it on the chance that it is relevant. Notably, however, it seemed to work fine when I got it back form the dealer. What the problem may be?
I have a 2005 Prius and need a new navigation unit and I found a place I can order online, however I did something not so bright I ordered for a 2007 Prius. I need to know if a 2007 navigation unit will work in a 2005?
View 2 RepliesMy '15 sonata Limited w/ Tech package has been having some issues appear with the clock on the Navigation unit.
A few weeks back, I noticed that the Date/time display across the top of the navigation screen was showing May 28. When I dug down into the clock settings, it was pulling the date May 28, year 2035 from the GPS signal. Each day it would increment to the next day.
Then last week, the date and time would not load across the screen at all. Only the normal blue bar appears across the screen without any text or numbers.
With the Daylight Savings time change over the weekend, I tried to change the time on the LCD clock in the middle of the dashboard, the clock settings are grayed out and I can not change anything.
I already hit the reset button next to the knob on the dash, and also pulled the 15A fuse but neither one worked to reset anything.
I have a 2011 Hyundai Elantra with 170,000 miles on it. The Navigation display is toast and I am not going to be buying a new one. The car will be out the door when/if it makes it to 250k miles. I want to simply go to eBay and buy a used unit from a totaled Hyundai Elantra and just use that. Connections look the same except there are not jacks for a couple of the plugs that are on the Navigation unit. Those are obviously meant for the navigation display and the back-up camera, which I will lose by going to the regular audio/bluetooth unit. The navigation has always sucked anyway, so I don't care about that. I just want to be sure that the bluetooth and the radio work once I switch them out. I already have the Nav unit uninstalled. The screen is busted on it.

Got a 2010 Prius with navigation couple days ago. No problems so far except, in mornings, on cold start head unit acts strange. If I press map or destination button on the right side of it, it skips music tracks that are being played or changes the radio station. It glitches like that for about 15 minutes, than comes back to normal. turning the car on and off doesn't work at all. The unit had been replaced once under warranty by toyota dealer.
