On last start up the starter sort of sounded odd, thought nothing of it. Went to go to the store again, and nothing. Keyless entry does not work. No activity at all. Used the key to get in and try to start...nothing. tried to open the trunk from inside. Nothing. Replaced battery about 3 months ago. No problems with that. Car is maintained religiously.
View 1 RepliesLast week my keyless entry stopped working. The key-fob buttons still work but not the push buttons or open signal on any of the doors. Took car in for tire change yesterday and to check this problem. Dealer has checked all the modules, including power and found no problems. They are now working with VW tech support to see what to check next.
View 2 RepliesI'm having an issue with my 99 passat v6 sedan. The problem began when I noticed my keyless entry stopped working (lock, unlock, trunk release). Then when I tried turning the key in the ignition, it wouldn't crank at all. All my electronics started up though (headlights, cabin lights, radio, dash). I then noticed that the alarm light next to the door lock was not lighting up. I have a spare key, and it is having the same problem.
I checked the fuses, but none were broken. I imagine that whatever controls the alarm and signals from my key is broken. I don't know what this object would be though, if it exists, what it's called, where it would be, how to tell if it's broken, or how to replace it.
I have then 04 Touareg V8 and my keyless door entry has stopped working. The dealer wants me to just leave it and they will work on it. The remote button still works it's just as you walk up to the Toruareg that the doors do not unlock.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2003 Camry I4. My RKE stopped working. First I checked the battery in the remote, it reads 3v like it should. I searched and found how to reprogram the the receiver, so I tried that. I did the door and key dance and got to where when you pull the key out and the door locks lock then unlock. I try pushing the lock and unlock button, then just the lock button as per the instructions and I get nothing. Supposed to get one cycle of the locks if it works and tow cycles if it doesn't. I get neither of those, nothing happens. So I buy a new remote off of eBay (brand new, never used, OEM remote). I try the reprogram door dance again and get the same results. The battery in the new one reads 3v like it should as well. So I go off to a junk yard to replace the receiver door controller, I found one and replaced it and I get the same exact results.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2008 Phaeton v8. The keyless entry feature on the exterior door handles has stopped working. The car neither locks or unlocks using the keyless entry feature. I tried using accessing the car with different key Fobs to no avail.
View 2 RepliesKeyless entry stopped working on driver's door, but still works on passenger door and hatch. Pushing the buttons still works. I already changed the battery in the fob, so it's obviously a problem with the sensor in the door handle.
View 5 RepliesI have a 1995 Dodge Caravan le which is in perfect condition throughout. But recently the interior lights stopped working when the doors are opened and when the keyless entry thing is activated. The overhead lights do work when manually pressed but the dashboard switch that is supposed to turn them on when in the far right position doesn't do anything. If I hold the drivers door open and push in the activation button on the door jam, I can hear the relay clicking but nothing happens. My mechanic said he thinks it might be a bad computer part and will replace it but didn't really want to. I can't find a fuse for the interior lights so don?

I came from the original 04 R32 but my wife 4 yr old Lexus has a similar keyless entry key detection setup as the eGolf.
Unlike my wife's lexus, I am having a lot of issues with the eGolfs keyless entry.
50% of the time it does not work when I am standing right outside my car... I have to take the key out and physically press the button.
is this a know issue with VW? Is there a fix?
I have a 2005 Pruis and the remote entry does not work. Changed the battery in the remote and I still have to put the remote key in slot to start the car. Been working fine for ten years.

-When i turn on headlights, the alarm tone inside the car does not go off. I drive the car home with this noise inside the car.
For some reason, it just stopped working. I replaced the battery about a couple of weeks ago, and it has worked fine until today. it shows the red led on the remote when I press lock or unlock, but nothing happens.
View 13 RepliesI have the keyless entry feature, but it's been acting strange lately. I keep my key in my right side jacket pocket & lock/unlock the door with the button on the handle of the car. Lately it hasn't been working....I have the hold the key next to the handle It seems to be doing this just about every other time I get in or out of the car.

View 14 RepliesI have an 01 F150 SuperCrew with factory keyless entry fobs. I would like to be able to leave my truck running, take the keyless entry fob with me, and then lock the doors. Currently, the keyless entry fobs are disabled when the truck is running and I'd be locked out of the truck. I've had newer Fords that would allow the fobs to stay active with the vehicle running. Do this can be programmed into the truck?

Ensured this is Option Package 1 car, no push button to disable the SKS from under the dash Tried the reprogramming steps here in this post (though I would say they are not 100% clear) Read the owner manual pages 20-40 Gave up and spent $5 on another CR2032 battery (did not work).
I have prius 2007 of the Japanese make (140k miles). Yesterday, my keyless fob stopped working. I couldn't use it lock/unlock my car; however, it is starting the car just fine. I replaced the batteries on the fob but no avail. The small red light on the fob is shining like normal. There is no abnormal behavior in the car otherwise. What should I check?
View 8 RepliesMy keyless entry seems to work only when it feels like it. I have had the remote TSB addressed and the range has not improved with the key. I can get the keyless entry to work often by holding the key higher, instead of just leaving it in my pocket. When I try to open the trunk most of the time have to hold the key up high to get it to open. Also my remote range and response to the remote is very bad and inconsistent.
I have read that there are two remotes for the Touareg. One for keyless entry and for without. I am wondering if I have the correct one. I saw a ebay sale for a key with the same part number as the one on mine but it did not specify for keyless entry. The part number on my key is 3D0 959 753 T. It has other numbers as well. Which one is the correct key for keyless entry. If it work for my vin is 0008500.
I would like to do keyless start, but can't until all my remote/keyless entry problems are resolved or the dealer will just blame the keyless start install for the problem. I love my Touareg so little things don't bother me, but would really like to fix this one.
When I hit the buttons on the remote the red light blinks so I assume it has power. But doors dont unlock, lights dont flash, and it can't open the trunk. Is there a fuse for this?
View 9 RepliesIt's cold and of course when I need it the factory installed key fob doesn't work. I took the car to one of those fancy car accessory stores and they said my alarm was working just fine. The power locks work fine when locking the car from inside the car. Just not using my remote fob. Searching Google I found an article about a similar condition where they said the solenoid was faulty and this was common for my model.
I know little about cars but this sounds expensive. What is a solenoid and why just the car fob. What is the point of having a remote start if you can't use it in 18 degree weather.
I've been having problems with my keyless entry. On two occasions (the last one while I was driving it)the alarm goes off without any apparent reason. Tried replacing battery in remote. In addition, sometimes the keyless entry does not seem to lock or unlock the car on the first try. Is this the remote or the system with in the car?
