My 2008 Sienna DVD player suddenly won't play discs because it doesn't seem to be spinning the disc. Inserting and ejecting the disc goes normally but the nothing happens when the disc is inserted.
View 1 Replieswhile loading discs the CD player stopped accepting them. it started blinking "Call Sirius". i'm pretty sure the car doesn't have sirius radio and not sure why that'd affect the CD player even if it did. now it blinks "press eject" and is no longer flashing the sirius message. when i press eject it turns off and the radio plays. i tried taking out the fuse and putting it back it but that didn't affect it at all.
View 4 RepliesMy ML player all of a sudden won't play or eject any of the discs that are in it. I was watching a DVD waiting for my wife and it must have had a scratch on it because the picture got stuck. I ended up turning it off to listen to the radio. The next day when trying to play a CD all I get is a light grinding/churning noise like the mechanism is stuck or something.
View 13 RepliesSo just recently (few days back) I was playing a DVD Disc, home-burned, with just audio on it. It has about 33 tracks of music on it. I noticed that towards the end of the disc (track 27), it started skipping, having crackling and popping sounds, and eventually just stopped playing and the timer went blank on the screen.
I took it out, the disc looked perfect (I had just burned it). I cleaned the disk anyway, put it back in, and it played fine. The next day, I noticed the same problem with the same disc. I removed the disc, cleaned it, and this time it did not solve the problem.
This morning, I tried a different disc (16 tracks), and the same problem happened after playing track 16 for a few seconds. Crackling/popping, skipping, and then playback stopped. This was also a home-burned DVD disc. No errors are displayed on the screen.
I have noticed no issues towards the beginning of any discs. I have not tried my store-bought DVDs after noticing this issue, but will try those today to see if they have the same problem. If those discs also have the same issue, is it likely an issue related to the laser?
I've got about 21k miles on the car. I have a 2013 ES 350 with the Mark Levinson system.
The CD player (6 disk changer) in my 2006 Honda Accord will not play disks above freezing temperatures. (To clarify, it is the model without the GPS.) I say temperatures because the playable cut-off usually fluctuates between 30 and 36 degrees F. Below that temperature, the disk plays fine.
Above that temperature, I will be lucky to get 15 seconds of play before the disk begins to skip and eventually error out. Additionally, the disk will skip and error after the cabin warms up. Over the last 9 or so months, this has been consistent behavior.
I first noticed this last summer in very hot weather when a disk began to skip. Since then, there is only one disk that plays reliably in any weather.
I have an 03 F-150 XLT with the 6 disc changer, and I can't get the dang thing to eject. It plays most of the cds fine (sometimes it won't play a certain couple of the six that are in the changer, and reads "CD ERROR" after trying to play the disc for a moment) but it refuses to eject any of the discs. It pushes them out just a little bit and then errors. I've attempted to pull the disc out once its pushed itself out a little, but it won't release them.
I then have to mess with it for several minutes to get it to retake the disc and quit pushing it out again, and then a few more to quit erroring when I change it to disc. I've tried to disconnect the battery (I read in a forum that that sometimes works) but to no avail. I know its a frequent issue with these. I figure I can pull the stereo out and take it apart to get the discs, but how can I fix the issue for good?
I just bought an FX4 and pick it up tomorrow. When you are in 2wd does the whole front end spin like the axles? Or does only the wheels spin when you are in 2wd? Reason I am asking it seems like with chevy the whole front end spins in 2wd.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2004 Toyota Camry 4cyl. Vehicle had ran hot. Performed the procedure and sent the head to the machine shop for the works. Replaced the timing chain and the oil pump chain along with the tensioner, rails and sprockets. Performed the timing chain procedure and even questioned the information about the counterclockwise rotation against the figures of clockwise,, but aligned all of the links to the dots on cams, crank, oil pump and crank. Vehicle spins tries to crank but, floods all of the plugs, no codes, good compression , fire and even hand rotated the crank to check all of the timing marks and all looks fine.

Yet, I'm able to spin the front wheels with my hand.
Wouldn't putting it in park lock the wheels via the transmission?
The car is a FWD 2007 Corolla....
The single disk cd player in my 07 Camry will not display the cd title information, track number or song title. It simply stopped displaying this information. The cd plays fine. It says "loading", then 'reading disk" and finally simply "CD". I tried several cd's and the title, track or title is not displayed. I checked the owners manual but there is no mention of how to fix this problem. I made an mp3 cd and the cd player reads all the mp3 info but still will not read data on a standard cd. Is there a "reset" somewhere to restore normal operation?
View 3 RepliesYesterday, I went to charge a friend's GPS in my 2008 Toyota Corolla. I discovered that a dime was stuck in the charging port (but why, by the way). I had to use a pen to carefully get the dime out, but in the process, I shorted out the car radio/CD player, clock, and the charging port. Everything else electrical works. How can I fix this problem?
View 1 RepliesI've noticed that my REAR BRAKE DISCS don't get warm (let alone HOT) to the touch after some seriously hard braking.
Obviously the front brake discs are proper hot, you wouldn't need to touch them to work that one out, just a quick splash of water on them would show you that..
But the REAR discs on my R32, I can touch them with my hand/finger, and they don't even feel remotely warm after some hardcore brake stops.
So I'm starting to think that my brakes aren't doing anything at all on the rear.
ok so the other day my radio suddenly cut out. the speakers are very quite and i can only pick up static. I need to know if i have to replace the antenna, radio, or both?
View 3 RepliesMy R32 is ~5700 miles and today I realized that Front brake discs wear out differently. Left one is OK but right one is scratched more deep and different than the left one. So they are not equal.
View 5 RepliesThe brakes on my 2007 Toyota Sienna suddenly went soft. The mechanic first replaced the rear pads, which needed to be done anyway, and when that didn't fix the problem he replaced the master cylinder. The brakes are still very soft. He has bled the system several times to get rid of possible air in the line, but that hasn't fixed the problem.
View 5 RepliesOur new gs will randomly turn the audio off, and start ejecting all the discs. I'm not sure what's up with that, I tried searching but I didn't find anything. Also the previous owner must have gone through a crappy auto car wash because the fin has two "bites" into it like got hung up on something..on two different occasions possibly. I'm assuming that's the radio antenna and that's why the stations don't come in as clear as they should. Anyways I doubt that has the radio turning the audio off and ejecting discs but figured I would throw that out there.

View 10 RepliesI have a 2002 RAV 4 with 75,000 on it. The check engine light suddenly went on this morning. I have not gone to the dealer yet as it will be expensive to do so. I have an extended warranty but am not sure if they will cover the cost. As to the problem, is there a quick fix to this? Can I just do it myself?
View 30 Replies2007 Toyota Camry, 4 cyl, automatic transmission, 147k miles. Was driving ab 60mph and slowing down as I approached a red light. Light turned green but car suddenly would not accelerate above about 20mph or 2000 rpm - ran fine as long as I stayed under 20, but when I tried to accelerate beyond that it started lurching like crazy and wouldn't accelerate. Pulled into a gas station and let it idle for a few mins while I checked the transmission fluid (has had a slow leak but I have been staying pretty on top of the fluid levels). Color and smell of the fluid was fine, but level was just a little low so I added some more fluid and let it cycle thru for a few minutes. Managed to get it home by staying under 20mph. Turned it off and basically ignored it for about 10 days due to being swamped at work. Went to start it up last night and the engine cranks but won't turn over and start. Lights, etc. all work. What gives? Praying this is not a transmission issue.
View 8 RepliesI was picking my daughter up from school on Friday, drove to the school, parked and left the motor running while waiting on her to come out. The car suddenly dies and won't restart. I thought initially it was a problem of bad cable connections on the batter, but after resolving that, I still couldn't get the car to crank due to a drained battery.
I pulled engine codes and got a 306, misfire on bank 6, pulled and replaced the plug, and put a new battery on the car. Now, when I try to start it, the starter spins fast, RPM goes up to close to 1000, and the motor will eventually start to turn over correctly, but will quit and go back to the fast spinning. It will rotate back and forth between the try to crank and fast spinning continuously. I tried pulling engine codes again and got nothing.
I have a 2000 Toyota Rav4 that just had an oil change and air filter replacement a little over a week ago. Today I was driving when the oil light suddenly came on (for the first time ever) followed by the check engine light. The car would not accelerate with pressing the gas and slowly came to rest on the side of the road. I tried to restart it and it made some noise but didn't start. I did check the oil and it is showing that its full.
