The ABS no longer working lights like brakes, abs, vsc all illuminated on the dashboard, diagnosed and found out the accumulator has gone bad though, the pump is ok, need a new accumulator to move the suv from its present location to a safe place.
View 2 RepliesI finally found the Prius I wanted. It's used. 2006. Gen II 220k miles. Bought at auction almost completely dead and no gas. After adding gas and driving so the main battery charges. It starts up great however the dash looks a little scary with nearly every warning light on.

1. When the air is on, it only comes out of the dashboard vents. If I change the flow to be all on the floor, defrost windshield, or anything else, it won't change the direction of the air; it continues to come out of the dashboard front air vents.
2. There is a buzzing that lasts from start for about 10 sec. It then quits. It will come back on for a couple seconds and then go off. It is only in the cabin; cannot be heard outside the car. If we turn off the air, the buzzing stops, but not immediately.
My 2008 Prius dashboard lights/indicator lights are not turning on.
View 8 RepliesI just did my winter hard top for the season, hooked up the plug for the rear heater and it works but it's cranking out cold air even when I am up to running temperature. The front heater is blowing lots of heat. Am I missing something? Is there something other than the plug I need to hook up?

View 5 RepliesI have a 2001 toyota 4runner 6-cylinder 3.4L engine with about 197xxx miles on it. I just took it in for an oil change a few weeks ago and when they checked all the other fluids in the truck they said the coolant seems sludgy and dark. Also the check engine light and vsc trac and vsc off lights came on, a week or so before the oil change. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and do almost all my work myself with the limit of the tools i have, but i can't seem to figure out what is causing this.

View 4 RepliesWe have a 1999 4Runner with the V6 engine, auto tranny, and 230k miles. For going on a year now the engine will occasionally stall when at idle…usually happening at stop lights. The engine starts right back up. This may occur once every other month or once a week for several weeks. Stalling has occurred with warm engine and cold engine, during raining/damp period and when dry. Never has the check engine light come on or has it generated fault codes. Dealer can’t find anything wrong. We’ve replaced Air Idle Control Sensor (OEM), Throttle Position Sensor, Mass Airflow Sensor, and cleaned the throttle body. Plug wires and timing belt were replaced a couple of years ago. Other than this one issue it runs great. What to try next.
View 4 RepliesThe other night after starting the car I noticed that the dashboard was not illuminated. When I moved the headlight switch to the "headlight" setting from the "automatic" setting--the dashboard lights went on.
When I moved the switch back to automatic, the dashboard lights went off again. Adjusting the intensity using the appropriate switches did nothing. An hour later everything worked normally once again.
Could armadillos playing around have broken a fuse or something? Otherwise car works great My mechanic looked briefly but wasn't sure what to do.

View 17 Replies2000 Camry 4 CYL ... Very sporadically, the car won't start. The battery was replaced a year ago, so that's not the problem. The lights on the dashboard turn on, but there is no sound and the car won't turn on. After turning the key 10-12 times, the car finally starts. It happens in rain, no rain, mild or hot weather. There just does not seem to be a reason. We had the mechanic change the spark plugs, but that didn't work. He doesn't want to start replacing things willy-nilly until he can duplicate the problem in his shop. We just don't want our daughter out late at night, and have THAT be the one time the car refuses to start.
View 7 RepliesI own a 1992 Jeep Wrangler that I'm currently trying to fix up. A major problem is that my the gauges and lights on my dashboard don't work correctly. My MPH and RPM gauges work fine, but my gas gauge and the three gauges next to it don't. they just sit at about a 1/4 full. Also the lights on my dashboard don't turn on when my headlights are on. So like when I'm driving at night with my headlights on my dashboard is pitch black. The lights have come on randomly before, but then don't work again the next time i drive with my headlights.

View 3 RepliesRecently, my dashboard lights stopped working. All of the indicators work like gas light, check engine, etc. I checked every fuse and they seem to be working fine.
I work 45 minutes away and usually drive home at night so I'd love to be able to see my speed again without relying on my GPS.
Since I purchased my 2010 Prius new, it often won't start. As instructed, I press the brake, push the power button for a few seconds, and hope that the ready light will come on. Typically, the dashboard lights up but the ready light doesn't come on. It can take ten minutes or more to get the car started. This happens when the car is cold, or has been sitting for a while, or randomly at other times. The Toyota service department will only address the problem if they can replicate it. I've left it at the service department for a couple of days until they experienced the problem. They reset a computer component which worked for three months. Now the issue is happening again and I'm back to trying to convince Toyota that it's a problem.
View 5 RepliesWe have owned our Prius since 2011, with no problems, other than the need to replace the 12 volt battery this past fall. Recently the dashboard display was totally dark. Nothing showed- altho the car would run. But then- it wouldn't stop. We called the local dealer who ran thru several options- and finally the car turned off after holding the power button for several seconds. We took it in- and were told it was the KAAR security system, which should be removed. We had that done.

View 2 RepliesWhen I insert the key, there is current to the dashboard and the steering wheel moves into position. When I try to start the car, the dashboard is illuminated- the radio comes on etc- but the starter does not engage all. It's totally quiet. I remove the key, insert the key and try again. Sometimes the starter engages, sometimes not. When it cranks, it starts right up. The battery is good. We had the ignition switch changed out a while back, but it didn't really improve the situation.
