So I heard some low-pitch but still the squeaky-type noise under the wheel when I turn it while driving/parking. In addition, once in a while, while driving the car, it will automatically honk on the street. I sense the car may need some check-up for its electric system. But what shall I do at this moment?
View 5 RepliesSince my first service, I have had a clicking type noise in my front end of the car when I am driving slowly (parking, pulling into my driveway). The dealer first said that it could be the brakes setting up after the car sat for a while. They "could not duplicate" the sound when the car was dropped off, but I still hear when I drive.

View 10 RepliesI have the same problem noted on last weekend's show with another Subaru owner. My car has a burning type smell (burning rubber or burning oil) only when driving uphill on a mountain road. I'm not sure the answer given on the show is correct about the rubber under the carpet smelling because of the catalytic converter. The smell comes through the venting system.
View 2 RepliesI recently had to replace my drive belt on a 97' dodge grand caravan sport 3.3 engine. The belt shredded and this is how i knew i had to replace it. Since i replaced it i notice a whine type of noise that increases in pitch as the engine is accelerated. The other thing I've noticed is that all electrically related operations work better as it is accelerated. For example, the air blows harder, the wipers move faster, and the lights brighten. Now i honestly can't say that it didn't do this before i changed the belt. I wonder if a bearing is going out on a pulley. I have noticed the same behavior on my daughters 98 sable. Also note that i did get all of the pieces of the old belt out from the pulleys and i did spin each of them to make sure the were moving without any resistance.
View 8 RepliesWhen I was driving my car the engine was running fine, but all of a sudden there would be no power to the wheels as I was driving. I tried shifting the car down into lower gears, but the car still was just coming to a stop even though I was revving the engine. I was able to limp home because I could turn the car off for about 30 seconds, and when I would start it back up the engine and transmission would work fine together for a few blocks and then I would have the same problem. I did check my transmission fluid, which was low (at the lower dot when hot). Could this problem be fixed by simply changing and filling the transmission fluid? Or do you think it is something else? My car is an automatic with about 114,000 miles. At about 98,000 miles I had a full tune-up and my timing belt was replaced.
View 6 RepliesI have problem with my brake system. When is comes to last 10 feet to a stop light always make this squeaky noise/high pitch noise. Brought it to the dealer for few times and they said this is a high-performance brake that's why there is these type of sound. I have a 2014 IS350.

View 2 RepliesI bought a 2007 Saturn ION Coupe the end of December 2006. I have had the car 4 mos and keep experiencing a wobbling when driving between 4-10 mph (traffic). They have balanced and aligned my car 4 times since I bought the car, once a month (it needs service every month I commute 1,000 mile a week). It seems to work for a short while and then the problem continues. They have checked everything, rotors, wheels, tires, etc.

View 2 RepliesI have a '98 Civic Dx with 217,000+ miles on it. Last year I had the water pump and timing belt replaced and beginning in February I noticed my antifreeze was disappearing but couldn't find any leaks. One mechanic said it was the water pump, so I had it redone under warranty. The antifreeze is still disappearing and now my mechanic tells me it's the radiator. (Don't you think he would have said that the first time?) It seems that the transmission is starting to go (see below) so I'm wondering if it's worth replacing the radiator or trying to patch any leaks I can find. I've heard such mixed reviews on patching radiator leaks and this mechanic won't do it. The part is cheap and I can probably replace or repair it myself. So, repair or replace?
I've had a few incidents of my car shuddering after I start driving and losing power around the first turn. Sometimes the shudder is worse if I've turned the car on, idled for a few moments and then started driving. The shudder was similar to one time when I had a bad spark plug wire, so thinking it was that I gave my car a tune up-- new plugs, wires, cap, rotor. But two mornings ago it nearly stalled as I was taking the first turn off my street.
Then yesterday morning it nearly stalled after I backed out of my parking space and began driving (I'd sat for a few moments with the car idling before backing out). For a while I've felt like it wasn't really getting full power around the first turn. I don't know how to describe it except that pushing on the accelerator didn't really do anything until the car had completed the turn and straightened out. I haven't had any problems throughout the rest of the day-- it drives just fine. It's only when it's been sitting at least overnight.
I'm in denial about it being my transmission. It has never liked to start when I've down to or below a quarter tank of gas, and someone else who called the show about that was told that the fuel system was probably losing pressure as it sat overnight, which sounds like what happens to mine. Could this be another symptom of that? Or could something in the fuel system be clogged, like the filter? (My Dad had a clogged fuel filter once and his car would lose power on an incline.) Or is this perhaps the beginning of the end for my little friend? I'm at 217k...
I have 2012 sentra with CVT transmission & 60,000 miles. I just got 60,000 miles service done. Service adviser called me to let me know that I need to have replaced upper strut bearing on the front (left & right) replaced because they are making clunking noise when turn wheels or parking. When I asked for the reason why they should go bed he told me that it's normal, some sand other debris could clog there or water could have damaged it.
View 4 RepliesI am getting an irritating squeaky sound when driving around and I have targeted the sound to be coming from the rear side interior panels on the passenger side. I discovered the sound while sitting in the far back 3rd row bench while someone drove me and ran over reflectors on the road (this is one way I could find to recreate the sound) and if you push a lil bit against the "pillar" area on those side interior panels at the rear you can easily hear it but when driving it becomes quite a bit annoying. I have thought about taking out both the lower and upper portions of the panels and maybe trying to dampen it a little by putting some electric tape in certain areas and areas that come to contact with the other panel.
View 13 RepliesI have a 2000 Saturn SL1 that died while driving. The battery was tested ok! When you turn the key all the lights come on. Turn it to start and all the lights go out except the SES and security lights. I have tried a method of resetting the security system by turning the key on then briefly to start. Letting it set and repete about 3 times or so. But it does nothing for the present issue.

I have a grinding type noise coming from underneath. Not there all the time..heard it last night while driving home....pulled over and waited for a while looked underneath could not see anything. Started off again heard it momentarily then it stopped....but I am thinking that this could be axle/wheel related/ball joint? No engine issue coming from the chassis underneath, possible bearing?
I have a 2003 Gx with 245K on it....but overall runs great!
I just bought a 2007 LS460L. 've noticed a squeaky sound coming from the wheels at about 10-20 MPH but then it goes away. I bought this car from Land Rover Cerritos so i can't imagine that they sold me a car with worn brakes.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2003 Camry XLE L4, and there is a grinding type noise when I turn the steering wheel at low to intermediate speeds, and when I go over a bump. I can also produce the noise when the car is parked and I bounce the driver's side up and down by placing my hands on the left fender. The struts, steering rack, and CV axels are all new. Also when the car is cold, turning the steering wheel produces a squeak (a different noise) from just behind the steering wheel.
View 11 RepliesI have an 03 2.0 jetta manual shifter. Never had issues before this morning. Got in car and sounded like it wanted to turn but wouldnt turn over. After a few attempts the turning sound stopped and I heard an electric pop. Now engine won't even try turning when I turn key it just clicks and engine makes a high pitch noise. Took starter and battery out got both tested and they are fine...
View 3 RepliesI have a 2007 volvo S40 T5 AWD with 25,000 miles. When driving at slower speeds and I let off the gas, I hear a "clunking" noise similar to driving over a lose manhole cover. The car makes a very slight jerk as well. I notice this as well between 2nd and 3rd gear, but not just then. I am thinking transmission problem, but don't know and want some info before heading to the dealer.
View 2 RepliesI am working on a 96 ranger 2wd the front brakes were shot or nearly so,about 1/8 in left and cracked. Changed them this morning at 5am because that is the cool of the day (104 today) everything up front works fine but the howling and nails across the chalk board from the back was still there. Took it to my freindly les schwab and they told me it needed axle seals on one side and the noise is from the gear lube on the shoes. they wanted 800 bucks to fix everything, went and bought new shoes,new seals,gear oil,and gasket for rear end cover it is an easy half hour job. As I was driving home tonight from the parts store the noise stopped so now i am worried either it was a rock stuck between the drum and backing plate or something broke. everything sounds and works fine....
