Can I disable the power lock on my Saturn SL1? Its locking and unlocking the front doors all by itself, draining the battery no doubt. Can I pull a fuse? If so, how find the right one?
View 3 RepliesOn my '88 Ranger, there is the key lock that needs to be pressed to remove the key. When I changed the ignition cylinder, I darn near went ahead and removed it. I though I better check here first, and see if I was going to disable some other function I don't know about.

View 3 RepliesIs it possible to disable the auto lock feature after time-out? I am not referring to the auto locks after driving 15kph. I am referring to when you unlock the doors with the remote and then don't open any of the doors for a minute or two. If you do not "wake" the car by opening it, the doors automatically lock again.
This is my most hated feature. There will be times when I unlock the door from the house and walk out to the car to get something. If I don't open a door within 1 minute, its locked again. Now I just have to carry the key for the most trivial things. Is this a menu option or a vag option?
How to disable or completely take out the steering wheel lock. The part where the gear goes into the disk to lock the steering wheel into place. I heard it was simple and yes I have been looking around but I still can't seem to figure it out.
View 10 RepliesThe doors & trunk will auto lock @10mph and will not auto unlock when car is stopped. This is very inconvenient. When I buy groceries then try to open the trunk when I get home, I always have to unlock the trunk before I can open it.
My dealer told me they cannot reprogram it. The older model has an option on the MFC but not ours.
I just picked up a 2013 Tiguan 4motion. The doors lock after a few yards of driving. Can I disable this 'feature'? I've had other German cars do this but it was always easy to find in the user manual how to override the default.

On my previous Nissan Altima, you can toggle this feature by pressing the lock+unlock simultaneously. I tried that on the Corolla, it does not work.
I do not have the Nav/JBL head unit, just the basic Gen III Prius II head unit, and would like to disable the speed sensor lock capability of the unit, like others have done with the Nav units.
If there is a plug-n-play defeat/bypass kit for this HU? There are some "fuel efficiency" windows in the HU, would I loose any of these functions/displays with such a bypass?
I have a 2002 Saturn Vue with a couple of miles on it (228,436 to be exact). I bought the car used in 2009 with 150K miles. Since I bought the vehicle, the electric door locks have stopped working, both with the key fop and with the door lock switches. This all started with the key fob working intermittently, and eventually degraded to the door lock switches not working. When I press the door lock switches on any of the doors you can hear the relay try to engage, however the doors do not lock or unlock. This is particularly interesting since now when I turn the ignition off, instead of unlocking the door, the system locks three of the doors and the hatch (it does nothing with the driver side door). I am not sure where to start looking for the root cause of this problem.

View 30 RepliesSaturn Ion 2003. Whenever I park the car and proceed to turn it off, all of the indicator needle lock into place and the entire car goes dead. Unable to use remote and when I attempt to place the key back into the cylinder to 'start' the vehicle, nothing occurs. Key is then stuck as it will not turn back past ACC. I have done tons of research and found a way to manually release the key but this doesn't resolve the lockdown. After a moment, the security light will display on the dashboard. I have tried just about everything including jumping the battery, only works until car is turned off, and making sure gear shift fully in 'park'. Have completed all recall notices from GM regarding ignition cylinder and the likes as well as a new alternator, twice. During the last jump, mechanic ran full diagnostics for battery, electrical, alternator and output.
View 16 RepliesI was having intermittent problems with my key fob. I replaced several times, but still had problems with it not working. (A real joy when the alarm is armed). Recently, the driver's door switch (lock/unlock) failed completely. All of a sudden, the key fob is working perfectly (so far) again. Could the failing switch have been causing the fob malfunction all along? I'd like to use the fob, but I'm not fond of the part where the car is alarmed and it won't disengage.

Driver door lock: (OK)
- Opening door when in locked state by using latch, works
- Manually toggling lock/unlock on the door works
- Power door lock switch locks and unlocks door
Front passenger door lock: (Issue)
- Opening door when in locked state by using latch, works
- Power door lock switch on this door or driver door, does NOT lock/unlock door
- Manually toggling lock/unlock on the door works
Rear right door lock: (Intermittent Issue)
- Opening door when in locked state by using latch, works
- Power door lock switch on driver and passenger doors intermittently fail to lock/unlock this door
- Manually toggling lock/unlock on the door works
Rear left door lock: (Issue)
- Opening door when in locked state by using latch, does NOT open the door
- Power door lock switch on driver and passenger door does NOT lock/unlock this door
- Manually toggling lock/unlock on the door works
What specific parts would need to be replaced?
My Chevy Venture 1998 power lock doors will unlock but won't lock. Checked fuse and is ok.
View 13 RepliesMy passenger rear lock is no longer lock/unlocking via power. I had an issue with the driver front, but it was replaced under warranty. Since it's a 2007, it's certainly no longer under warranty.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2003 Santa Fe, 2.4L. I think some snow got onto the power window switch panel, then melted and fried something. While driving, the driver side window will go down by itself. What's more, when I turn my headlights on, the window goes down as if the headlight switch is the switch for the window.
How I could fix this? Is there a way to disable the power window altogether? I'd rather do that in the meantime if it's going to require some expensive diagnosis and fix from the mechanic.
