My Saturn Ion Quad leaks bad when it rains. GM did something a couple of years ago but that didn't last.

View 2 RepliesMy 1999 passat leaks in heavy rain when sitting still. The water pools behind the drivers seat and in the trunk on the passenger side. I've had it in 2 body shops and they can't find the leak. There is no obvious signs of water anywhere else in the interior.
View 7 RepliesSo i have a 2005 jetta gli that i just got a few months ago. it never came up just till recently with hurricane sandy but somewhere on the passengers side water is running into the vehicle from the a pillar past the glove box and making a pond out of the entire passengers side of the car. I've only found a few posts on here of it happening but with no good explanations of why or how to repair/fix it. all of the rubber looks good no debris or dirt is blocking anything from flowing.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2003 Honda civic. When it rains water leaks inside and soaks the carpet under the diver's feet and the left side a the back seat. There is no sign of water on the dashboard or driver door, so I don't think the leak is coming from the windshield or drivers window. Could it be coming under the dashboard and running down the floor board? Where would I take the car to try and get this fixed?
View 7 RepliesWhile driving my 97 Saturn SW2, the car couldn't shift into a higher gear (out of 2nd). while pushing on the gas, the RPM's would go higher but not shift. Also, the 'Service Engine' light came on. I don't have a code reader. Luckily I was close to home. When it parked it, I noticed a leak under the car, in the front section of the engine. I've also noticed that the past few days when putting the vehicle into reverse, it lurches pretty hard when it catches (as in, it jerks the car back suddenly). What could be the problem(s)? Should I drive this to the mechanic or have it towed?
View 7 RepliesI have a 95 SL1, 175,000 miles. Both front doors and the right rear door have water leaks. Leak is at the top edge of doors. Seals look ok. During heavy rain it is bad, soaking the seats and floor boards. Would adjusting the door lock striker by pulling the door in tighter to make a more positive seal or should I replace the door seals. I have friends you own Saturns and they have similar problems with door water leaks.

View 30 RepliesFriday, 4/4/14: I have read many of the posts about this issue on this site. Didn't know this was such a widespread problem until I started doing my internet research today. Obviously there are many of us and this has been going on for a few years with this vehicle. I have had soaked floor boards twice and dealing with my third incident today(4 inches of rain last night). Have an appt with my GMC dealership on Monday. How I start this process with GMC to quickly get their attention. Obviously, I need to contact GMC first so that I can get their standard, worthless answer. But I've read I need to hire a "lemon law attorney", post my dissatisfaction on social media, contact the news media, etc. I am 62 yrs old, on disability, can't afford this inconvenience for something GMC should be RECALLING and fixing. Plus I have a small garage and this monster vehicle will not fit in it (didn't know that until after I bought it).
View 2 RepliesMy 1999 Saturn SL2 has had issues with its security system for years. It "chirps" intermittently, sometimes to the point of killing the battery. I've taken to unplugging the battery when I won't be using it for a few days so that the chirping doesn't get out of control. Often I'm not able to start the car right away, because the security system has been activated somehow. When this happens I have to unlock and lock the doors until the car starts. I used to be able to improve this by using the keyless entry system, but this very recently stopped working, even though the batteries are new. The security came with the car, and was definitely not installed after market.
My car has also suffered from water damage for a long time. The trunk initially was leaking. Since then the sunroof, drivers side window and rear window have all become leaky. I have fixed those with caulking, but nobody has been able to fix the trunk leak. (really quite significant; when I lived in Portland I sometimes had to siphon out several inches of water from the trunk). My theory is that the electric system might have water damage, but I've brought the car to several mechanics, including electrical specialists, and nobody has had any answers.
I have a 2006 Saturn Vue and if drive with the sunroof open and the driver side window open I get periodic thumps or knocks from below the front seats or the dashboard (not really sure where it is coming from).
If I open additional windows or close the driver side window it goes away. I am sure it is an air flow issue.
I have two Camrys, A 1993 and 2001. Both cars have 4 cylinder and automatic transmissions. When ever it rains heavy and I am on a highway or fast moving road 45 mph or better. I hit a groove on the road that splashes water under my car. Then I get a rumble from underneath my car as I drive the rumble gets less and less as to water got wet seems to be drying out. Until I hit another groove and splash water under my car again. Both of my cars do this. Is it the cat getting wet (if not what is it then) and if so what can be done to correct this.
View 14 RepliesDo the wet boots make a clicking/rubbing type noise when turning on your car? It happen on my 2012 GTI, but only when it rains. It's really loud when I turn inside a parking garage. It's definitely not the joint itself, but rather is the rubber boot sticking to itself and releasing on the compressed side of the boot during the turn. No other car of mine has made this type of noise, even those with cheap Chinese aftermarket axles.
View 7 RepliesMy 01 Elantra GLS sputters whenever it rains. Once the car warms up it runs normal again.
View 1 RepliesI have taken to mechanic- no codes, all reads well. have changed fuel filter, checked fuel pump, spark plugs, battery fairly new. after it rains, it cranks-engine shakes-wants to start but wont. Almost like gas or ignition will not kick in. if sunny, ok- This only happens after it rains..
View 3 Replies93 k1500 350 has a water leak in the passenger footwell. Happens when it rains haven't had the truck long enough too test if a/c also causes leak. I checked the condensate drain line at the engine firewall. There was some gunk in it which I blew out but did not solve problem.
I'm able to reproduce leak by running a hose into the exterior cowl openings as if it were raining. As you can see in the pic the leak develops behind the blower motor. How to fix this leak??
The picture below shows underneath the passenger dash the two locations where I've seen leakage:
The test setup:
We bought our used 2009 Tiguan TDI 4motion AWD with electronic transmission and auto hold (whatever that is) when it was still under warranty. We are second owner of this car sold in the Dominican Republic, but it was build in Germany. Having done some research online, we know a bit more about the car, but it has a Spanish owner's manual so we are still learning......Love the car; fabulous milage and pickup especially in the mountains here. Perfect for this island of potholes and variable road conditions too.
Anyway, I didn't think it had a "car alarm" of any kind. Nothing on the key fob to turn it on or off and no "panic button". BUT it apparently has one! This one goes off when the car windows are down and it starts to rain! It's a cute little mildish squeak or chirp! We do have rain sensors for the wipers, so I assume that's related.
I have been having issues with a security malfunction in my car. Every great once in a while, most of the time when it rains, my security function in my car gets tripped and I am unable to start my car. The security light on my dash lights up and I have to wait 5-10 minutes for it to go off before I can start my car. I'm sure it's just a bad fuse but it can be very inconvenient sometimes and make me late for work! Where to even begin to look and I'm afraid if I start pulling wires that I might get locked out of my car completely.
View 6 Replies2004 Nissan sentra 36,000 miles, stalls when it rains after I stop for a red light or a STOP sign. While pumping the gas, I have to wait a minute or more before it accelerates and moves. It is an automatic. I had a mechanic check the spark plugs and sensor codes. All checked out okay. Car drives fine in dry weather, no stalling. Bought used from out of town.Mechanic told me to bring it in when it rains. But that's not safe, because it will stall. Could moisture, humidity, or air pressure affect sensors?
View 4 RepliesFor some strange reason I'm getting water under the passenger side carpet, but it only seems to be happening after it rains. I don't know where it's coming from, but it seems to be right in front of the front passenger seat. I've only had the car for a month and would like to get this fixed..
View 4 RepliesGet water in trunk every time it rains. I think it gets in through the tail light cause the side has a dent.
View 4 RepliesI'm getting water on my passenger floorboard. It's a large amount too! Where it's coming from if it's a common thing? Also, since I'm not too familiar with the ins and outs of these cars yet, how do i access the "trouble spot"?
